    My grandmother lived there for 20 years growing up. they walked out with the things they could carry when the mines closed.

    Obviously, after that place was abandoned they discovered an easier way to refine kerosine from oil.Must have been a pretty town in its day. I can imagine flowers growing in house yards in that mild climate. Would have been nice to read what was written on that Railway sign board. Most ghost towns are in the dry outback.
    Nice to see one that is in a more welcoming part of the country and also strange that it has not been resettled given its location. Perhaps it is all on private land now?
