    • @Handiman544
      @Handiman544 4 ปีที่แล้ว +160

      It's what he does. You can pick any make and model and trash it and find good reasons to do so, but all in all, like I said, buying any vehicle is a crap shoot. You get a good one or you get a bad one. It's all relative. Take care of it and maintain it on a regular basis and any car should give you good service. Most people don't even change the oil so what can you expect.

      MadBurrito x it’s not totally irrelevant but you have to factor in many different things when comparing the two. In texas people are going to be using their ac a ton, putting a lot of wear on the ac components. Maybe the owner of the sportage used their ac basically all the time and that may not be the case on the celica. I’m sure there are plenty of celica owners who have had to replace their ac compressor at or below 100k miles and plenty of sportage owners who haven’t had to replace it at all

    All KIA’s are “crap” because you say they are. This is an old KIA and the company has come a long way since.
    The compressor in my Honda Pilot went out at 60K miles. Does that make all Honda’s crap? You need to update your knowledge around KIA as a brand. KIA reliability, customer satisfaction, and interior quality is one of the highest ranking according to consumer reports right behind your beloved Toyota.
    You don’t like KIA, Hyundai, Mazda, Subaru, all American brands, and can’t think of any other German or other brands you like other than Toyota. We get it, only buy Toyota’s, period. Right?
    I agree Toyota is a great brand. However, I owned a 2019 model for seven months and the eight speed gear shifting was so awful, I sold the car and bought the KIA Stinger GT2. The KIA is smooth shifting and the car cabin is quieter than the Toyota. The same goes for when we compared the quality of the Highlander vs the Sorento. Interior materials for the Highlander were mostly hard plastics. Again, the gear shifting was awful.

KIA had more Top Safety Picks and Top Safety Pick Plus awards for cars than Toyota and Honda. Toyota’s and Honda’s have great resale values and that’s why until the last two years I’ve only owned Honda, Acura, and Toyota’s. Right now, resale value isn’t a priority for me. Yeaahhhh..Hyundai had engine shavings problems...I'm not sure any other company experienced this ever before actually to my knowledge, really screwed my mom over, I'll never buy anything from many companys ever used or new for many reliability reasons, they need to build easily serviceable (DIY) and stop worrying about dealerships because let's call it like it is people are only getting more information about things they don't care about and for alot of people, like my mother for example that's cars she likes some cars and suvs better than some but could care less and nowadays I'm looking very deeply into every single material used in a vehicle from interior to engine bay to wheel well to random trim and clips and rubber and after we got her a Honda civic she agreed she won't be buying another car or going to any shop without the advice of a mechanic, car guy, engineer all of which I am, mechanics are ocassionally dirty and some car companys are pure trash I have no idea how they haven't been sued completely out of business trust what scotty says...and the fact that Honda and Toyota has a recent solid 30 years of reliable and easy to work on vehicles to pick from, no matter how much money you make...most part replacements are because of cheap build quality and bad materials on newer vehicles, with the type of engineering that surely was begging for parts to be unservicable , chevy and mercedes and bmw and Chrysler are built horrendously and to wish them on my worst enemy would be bold

      I think the only kia that really gave trouble was the early kia picanto became they had issues with the crankshaft pulley bolt which came loose over time and affected the timing and caused miss firing and poor running.
      It was a factory issue where the crankshaft pulley bolt was not torqued down sufficiently enough.
      But I think they addressed that problem with the new models so I would say they have came along way since then .

An isolated case of engine failures is a prime example of laxed quality control in some of their plants due to outsourcing and shouldn't judge the entire car line. My girlfriend has a 2013 kia forte with 180k plus miles with no major issues at all except for purge valve replacement of $12, new rotors/brakes and it's 2.4 liter engine is incredibly peppy and slings me back with its power.
