As he rightly mentioned, whatever was done on Jan 22 was just a beginning. Brand new sculptures has certain shine & luster, after dipping the idol in various tatvas it has mattified so lights are reflected differently now.
But there IS a subtle difference in expressions of the face too.
Eyes are more alive & smile IS different, so yeah the idol IS changed in many ways.

The idea behind the rituals is to imbue the stone with cosmic energy using the 5 diffrent elemnts in combination with the living principle. Thus, the stone is left standing alternately in water and sprouting grain and herbs, and many other similar combinations. This is accompanied with a lot of mantra recitation invoking the various elemental energies. Homage is regularly paid to energy gods like agni (fire), vayu (wind) etc by doing 'yagya'. The choosing of the stone itself is an elaborate process as it should ultimately be capable of absorbing all this universal energy. When we say 'pran pratishtha', it is the final step towards the statue being embodied with divine energy; it literally means establishing the divine breath.
Only a special kind of people can play host and stay within the womb i.e. garbha graha during this event. They must undergo rigorous mental and spiritual purification through saadhna (meditation) and follwing of virtuous practices. The prime minister was in a state of deep contemplation and practice for a period of 11- days, as were the 5 other people who were hosts to the entire event. They were not allowed to travel beyond the Indian shores, they were sleeping on the floor and consuming only bare sattvik nutrition. Meditation to keep away negativity is a part of the required procedure. So, the prime minister chose to retrace Lord Rama's journey as he had gone searching for Maa Sita, as an additional undertaking and opted to only partake coconut water for 11 days. The actual process of establishing of breath is officiated by the priests; we can be present as witnesses.
One of the most beautiful scientific aspects of this living diety in Ayodhya temple is that inspite of being established on the ground floor, once a year (the birthday of Lord Ram according to the Lunar calender), sunlight will be harnessed and projected onto the forehead of Lord Rama to create a 'surya tilak' for 6 minutes around noon. This is another way of re-energizing the cosmic forces within the sanctum sanctorum, alongwith the daily offerings of holy river waters and milk and curds and honey . Hope this helps :) Jai Shree Ram

As soon as they broadcast the Balaka Rama idol during the pran prathista, i was stunned looking at the eyes , i have never seen anything so beautiful ever in mu life . If experienced something what they call ‘ mantra mugdha ‘ , those eyes changed me forever, i felt what bhakti feels like in that very moment.
The present Pejawar Muttadish Vishwa Prasanna thirtha who is presiding 48 day Mandalostava was Sri Vishwesha Thirta Swami who was at forefrontin Ram Janmabhoomi agitation, he is no more but will always be remembered for his dedicated effort .

In my opinion major part of the Pranaprathishta was done by the seers and Gurus, coz it's a lengthy process running into weeks before the actual date of consecration and the rules r very strict, and for certain ceremony only a husband and wife r qualified - (pious practicing Hindus. ) Modi ji though a practising Yogi and a pious Hindu is a Bhramachary. And , I heard there were other 11 or 10 ppl involved other than Modi ji in Ram ji 's Prathista.
Yeah the priest who offered Charnamrit to Modiji to break his fast, has said there were different Yajmaans for different days, and mukhya Yajmaan who were the Dom king & his wife who performed rituals every day till 22nd.
Modiji was for 22nd & acted as Raja/representative of Praja/citizens, and completed the rituals of that day. It will continue for 48days more.

Consecration ceremony of Hindu Temples and Idols also called Pran-Pratishta , an act by which a person or a thing is separated from secular or profane use and dedicated permanently to the sacred by prayers, rites, and ceremonies. While virtually all cultures and religions have some form of purification rite, consecration is especially associated with Hinduism where in the idols, items, temple, space and food are dedicated to a deity.
Consecration Ceremony and Idol worship is very much a part of age old tradition of Christianity and Judaism. In October 2006, on the 75th anniversary of the statue's completion, Cardinal Eusebio Oscar Scheid, Archbishop of Rio, consecrated a chapel, named after Brazil's patron saint-Our Lady of the Apparition-under the statue, allowing Catholics to hold baptisms and weddings there. Consecration of bread and wine in the body and blood of Jesus Stock. During the consecration when the bells are rung, I pray, 'Thank you Jesus for coming into the world an infant as I, You without sin, I a sinner but Your beloved. I adore and love you.
Total Consecration to Jesus Through Mary is another popular practice. The custom of solemnly dedicating or consecrating buildings as churches or chapels set apart for Christian worship must be almost as old as Christianity itself. When we come to the earlier part of the 4th century allusions to and descriptions of the consecration of churches become plentiful. Many religions have specific dedication rituals, which serve to consecrate items, places, or people to sacred purpose, such as the dedication of churches or Child dedication. Consecration of crosses and crosses on the interior walls and exterior architecture of a Christian church or cathedral showing where the bishop has anointed the church with chrism or holy water in order to consecrate it. There is often a place for a candle in front of each cross which is lit on the anniversary of the consecration. The crosses signify the sanctity of the church. First, holy water is blessed and mixed with chrism. With the mixture the bishop makes a cross in the middle of the altar, then on the right and on the left, then on the four horns of the altar. The altar is then sprinkled seven times or three times with water not mixed with chrism and the altar table is washed, censed and wiped with a linen cloth. I give myself and consecrate to the Sacred Heart of our Lord Jesus Christ, my person and my life, my actions, pains and sufferings, so that I may be unwilling to make use of any part of my being other than to honor, love and glorify the Sacred Heart.
Deconsecration Visurjan Puja- When such places objects and Idols are put out of service a ceremonial farewell is given to the idols and objects consecrated after which they are ceremonially submerged in Ponds, River or waterbodies to avoid any disrespect.
Decommissioning or secularization (a term also used for confiscation of church property) is the removal of a religious blessing from something that had been previously consecrated for religious use. In particular, church and synagogue buildings no longer required for religious use are deconsecrated for secular use, or for demolition.
This shows that Christians are inviting Jesus or God to live into their heart, chappel, church, cross, statue, Bread and Wine but when it comes to other religions they tell people that God cant enter or cant give its powers to an idol, temple, tree, river, mountain etc. on the other hand there is no such limitation in the minds of Hindus… because they believe that everything is manifested by the same one absolute reality which can manifest itself in each and every form….

Every deity is living deity. at home we Hindus don’t skip one day without taking care of gods. Giving them food and water and chanting Gita is essential if u r a believers. Then there are other small rituals that differ from people to people.
Like some can’t afford to give food to gods at home. So it is recommended to not start it until and unless u are sure u can continue it. Instead only lighting diya is more than enough.
And more people have elaborate aarti everyday and read each chapter of Geeta each day. Or some have beej mantra and they do japa of that mantra. Etc.
