Was really hoping to learn more about the components of a metal roof, not necessarily about where you buy tour metal or how it’s fastened. I need to learn more about rakes, eaves, ridge, ventilation, etc.
Hello! Here's a video that covers accessories: bit.ly/metal-roof-accessories-video here's one that covers flashings: bit.ly/installation-details-video and here's one about ventilation: bit.ly/ventilation-considerations-video Let me know if you have any other questions! -Thad
Know your audience. The bulk of people that watch this are relatively new to the topic. This guy doesn't explain things to their level. If viewers already knew the information, they wouldn't need to watch the video! Approach the videos you make for newcomers as if you're speaking to an 8-year old. Totally serious. Also, I would highly recommend that whenever possible, SHOW everything you describe. Finally, the title says it is about the components of metal roofing. Where does it talk about ridge parts or other accessories?
Noted, Robert! This video was from our very first series released on the channel, and we're always looking to improve. I updated the title and description to provide clarification, and I'm currently in production of a new components video that covers some more basic topics as well. -Thad

Your presentation did NOT show enough of how each kind of fastener attaches to the next panel......even though that is well-know to you.....!??!
The ridge vent assembly, with all the separate parts and required caulking, looks pretty wonky. Seems like someone would come up with a better design for the ridge area. A 30-50 year product that relies on the integrity and longevity of caulked in pieces at the ridge just doesn't seem right.
