What would you recommend for roofing underlayment on 8" thick rigid foam pannels? I'm considering putting a snap lock clip roof system on my residence.

Im noticing rusting on older PBR style metal roofing systems on the horizontal overlaps. Any ideas why this might be happening? The roofs are usually about 1/2 to 1/12 pitch

0:56 "Mostly hidden fasteners"? 😡 standing seam is called hidden fastener for a reason...so the client does not have to worry about those exposed fasteners failing in 10 years....this is the problem....manufacturers downplaying the trade and allowing this junk to be acceptable....if your going to cover standing seam...please do it with the highest level of quality....you making us look bad

Agreed, on a standing seam roof penetrations must be avoided as much as possible for the good of the system. I used the term "mostly" to include a a small number of standard details used throughout the industry that utilize some exposed fasteners. The preservation of the craft is an important topic, so if you have thoughts in the future please share. -Thad

@@TheMetalRoofingChannel tbh I stopped watching the video at this point because anything that is said after that loses credibility....some of details your referring to that do require fasteners are exactly what I am referring to....we have to maintain details that support the growth of a tradesperson rather than compromise it....you guys should some videos on conical double fold set in bottoms for pipe penetrations....now that is keeping the trade alive

@@asm101 The Metal Roofing Channel has educated me regarding my choices for a metal roof and has given me the terminology to intelligently communicate with my roofer. Your criticism ignores the purpose of the videos, which is to inform and educate those of us who are not roofing nerds. If you look bad, it has nothing to do with this channel.

@@KevinCGleason no need for name calling...I hope your roof stands the test of time...you should be thanking me because I am Ultimately standing up for you, the end user. im glad they were able to help but as a professional some of these details just will not stand the test of time because of the reliance on rubber washers and caulking

@@asm101 Do standing seam metal roofs not have exposed screws anywhere?
