  • Intro to my recently completed cigar box guitar tutorial-I created this as many of the existing tutorials don’t seem to cover slide and pick alternating thumb etc. If you are interested I will soon be completing my website and the link will appear here.

    This one is the best I've been able to get right now the others seem to be easier 😎 Thanks!

    No offense made toward anybody else, but, you have made learning the CBG so much easier than anybody I've tried so far! Thank you! Your teaching techniques make it so easy it's scary, you don't play some intimidating piece then break it down. For example "Bad Moon Rising", one finger two frets and an open. Simple as hell! Can't do it for the live of me. The pick and strum pattern is easy enough, but for what ever reason may as well be KISS or Led Zeppelin, I can't get it to work for me, this does! Thank you again!

    Thank you Paul for this simple, straight forward lesson. Now, with practice, I’m going to learn to play my 3 string guitar’s. Again thank you.

    Good sir. This is a tremendously simple but wonderfully useful video. I really appreciate your willingness to share your insights. Thank you. And I noticed that you're left handed. Double bonus for some of us. Again, thank you.

    Thanks Phil the feed back is appreciated . Try the “big rd blues “ tutorial . Just a bar or two at a time slow. When you you have got the hang of it add another one or two bars and add them to the others . This is how I started ( at 42 yrs old ) Try to practice daily but not to long. I will let you know when the tutorial is available . Hope this helps .Paul

    Really liked the pace of this, regrettably no muscle memory for the picking bit with luck and practice.............you have a good teaching style and its easy to listen to. looking forward to the full series although #1 is still too hard for me ( I am 64 and stiff joints in my hands).

    The strings I use are the B. G. D strings from a pack of acoustic 0012 light or a mediums . You can use other tunings as long as they are in the same format eg gdg .paul.

    Subscribed! Thanks I was looking for something simple because to say I'm a beginner is an understatement, most beginner videos are still a little advanced, this is perfect and actually sounds like your starting to play something. I'm in the process of building a CBG, I'm a machinist so I have confidence the guitar will come out great, the playing is a whole other thing. Thanks.

  • @peterscrase7196

    Hi. What strings are you using please out of a 6 string pack.

  • @chrisnicoleofficial

    Y did I hear that u shouldn’t press down on the strings? Do I have my guitar arranged the wrong way?

    • @cigarboxpickandslide2979
      @cigarboxpickandslide2979  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If your referring to using the slide , a heavy slide is enough weight on its own,a light slide a little pressure can be applied. If across all strings then some pressure but not so much that the strings touch the frets , make sure you have high enough action . But experiment

    Is that a truss rod I see?

    • @ronmiller7916
      @ronmiller7916 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's 1.5" x 0.75" before shaping so no. Just make a new neck if it warps or breaks. 3 strings less tension.

    • @raccoon6072
      @raccoon6072 3 ปีที่แล้ว
