I've returned to this lesson a few times as I find it so very useful in learning this instrument. I've only been playing for a few months. That goes for ANY guitar. These lessons reveal their wisdom as I learn more and my understanding grows.
Another great lesson Will be soloing all weekend while looking at the lake. Thanks for everything you do for the cgb community. Not a special pleader for UM but buy a songbook or one of his bundles. It will help keep this thing going
Wow!, what a lesson, I think I got more insight and inspiration from this one lesson than I have from ANY other of the Hundreds I have studied over the years. Thank You.
Ive followed you for a long time and i just bought a Vox Mini Go 10 after watching your video. Ive been making cigar box guitars for 10 years now and now im determined to play better. Your lessons are so good. So appreciated. Youre the best.
Fantastic lesson, very helpful! It would be great if you could do a follow-up lesson on some of the details, for instance on the sliding up and the soloing that happens from roughly 1:45-1:50. Also on how to produce the soulful bends. Thanks and keep up the great work!
Uncle Mark,i must say you are the first one that really helped me start correctly a solo 👍i must admit i’ve been looking for such a great lesson for longwhile😅so merci Uncle Mark 🙏now i got the keys thanks to you .🤘🏼👍💋
excellent video. great ability to transmit. Even though I'm not good at English, I could understand what he explains. Thank you very much for the vocation.😁
Not actually got a cigarbox guitar yet but will definitely be trying your lesson out when i do mate. I really enjoy your videos that you put out. Can't wait for the next one!
Hi Mark, Great video - thanks! I'm a bit confused about why it's A# (in the Pentatonic scale explanation around 3:55)... i always think of it as a Bb... Why is it an A#? Many thanks. Great CBG by the way!!!
It's very confusing, i always say Bb BTW. if your scale has 1 sharp in it then it's an A#.... if your scale has a flat in it it's Bb. it's that simple to my knowledge
Coming from music theoryland, I recommend thinking of it as Bb. It's a "minor" pentatonic, so the third of g minor is Bb. You can also think of it as five notes taken from the basic g natural minor scale - G A Bb C D Eb F G. The pentatonic version of that is G Bb C D F G. The A# is certainly used in a blues context, but usually it's when you're approaching the major 3rd B with a chromatic note. A# to B makes more sense in a scale motion than Bb to B. I hope that makes sense. Uncle Mark is awesome and it doesn't really make huge difference in the end.
th-cam.com/video/k5oGbdReE_U/w-d-xo.html I'm working on converting my 4 string CBG into a 6 string CBG, more specifically a 6 string CBG in Bb (it's tuned a step below a Normal 6 string Guitar so it's D, G, C, F, A, D) so I can cover Trumpet Sheet Music.
Best soloing instruction on the Internet! Thanks so much
Glad it was helpful!
I have been playing music for 30 years for my own enjoyment. This the best tutorial I have ever watched.👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
