Cool story. I'm so used to Batman being the best at what he does, it's just odd seeing him in is early days. I'm also liking an elderly, but still fit Alfred. My vote for more Earth One is YES.
Someone who claims to be a part of the production said Matt Reeves will mix Vol1 & 2 of Batman: Earth One in the new Batman movie, with Mayor Cobbelpot being Thomas Wayne´s political rival (and current mayor of Gotham), and using the Riddler plot from Vol2 in a the Long Halloween manner, as a mysterious killer who no one in Gotham sees comming. Also the relationship between Bruce and Alfred, and the whole realistic "young Batman" vibe. Lets see how true it is, but so far it seems to be real. The movie already casted all the important characters who appear in Batman: Earth One (Bruce, Alfred, Gordon, Harvey Bullock, Penguin, Riddler... But also adding two new ones: Catwoman & Falcone). Not only that, but the age of the actors would fit this particular version of the characters (Penguin being the same age as Thomas Wayne, Riddler being a younger guy like Batman, Andy Serkis as Alfred...) And even more: Robert Pattinson said in a recent interview "Batman is not a hero...", and the official tagline for this comicbook was: "Batman is not a hero, he is a man..." This Batman even uses a modified regular car as his Batmobile. So far, everything seems to line up.

Earth 1 Batman is the best incarnation of Batman personally he's grounded and doesn't have plot armor as his metahuman power and anyone else notice the parallels of Earth 1 being like Earth 1610(Marvels ultimate universe) both are more grounded with a more modern take on superheros and villians

This Earth feels more like the one shown in Gotham TV series.
Good thing matt is inspired by this version of batman and the movie is set-up in his 2nd year, which means he can fight better. _🦇_

TPB2: Bruce Fighting the Ridler while balancing his political issues (you would not believe the twist ending)

TBP1: Clark becoming Superman (if you do this story PLEAASSSEEE also read the newspaper interview Clark did with "Superman")
TBP2: Clark trying to manage his life then a villain appears & Clark learns his own mortality
TBP3: Lex Luthor has HAIR... oh yeah & Zod's out to get him

Personally, I like Earth-1 because of how drastically or minorly different the characters are and how they do it, its just that interesting because I want more of Earth-1 Lines

Earth One Batman honestly one of the best... ever. The fact that he isn't perfect/the best at everything and is still learning the ropes is one of my favorite aspects of this character. I flat out LOVE seeing Jim Gordon as a mentor figure for Batman. Also the twist on Gordon was pure genius.
I'm looking forward to more Earth One story lines! This is a grounded universe that I really respect.
people are only focusing on the point of 'The Batman' being batman's second year story but the film will have inspirations from different other storylines, one majorly being Earth One. They already said the new version of Alfred will be a tough guy and the primary trainer of Bruce.
Fr. The new movie is gonna most definitely gonna be heavily based of this but with detective hints of the long Halloween. But with design queues of the batsuit being based predominantly on the batman damned costume

You know I think this is the reason why they don't show Alfred in "the batman" 2021 because they took the design from batman earth one and make the Alfred a bad ass and not like the previous one that's just a original buttler but that doesn't meant that the actors that play's Alfred in the previous movie's doesn't do a good job

It seems to me that the TV show Gotham is borrowing some elements of this story for the show, like Penguin being mayor and the GCPD not being allowed to take in some criminals due to that.

The Batman was the best out of the earth one series, I loved Superman and Michael J. Stravinsky is an excellent writer with a interesting take on it.

This is probably the least formidable version of Batman which was kind of weird and disappointing
I don't have a problem with batman screwing up but what I DO have a problem with is that Bruce is supposed to be trained in all forms of hand to hand combat BEFORE he puts on the mask so he should have been able to take on a couple thugs
Otaku Paku He's fighting prowess is much better in Vol.2, so i think they fixed that(he doesn't need to be a master in all iterations, especially the elseworlds)

I really wish this series hadn't petered out after 2 installments. I read vol. 1 and really liked it. It was an actual fresh take on the mythos and it was even more grounded than the Nolan movies. And the artwork was grade A. The emotions were deep and I liked the reimagining of the characters. I think it could have been a little longer and a little more fleshed out, but still, it was dope.

I can’t wait to see Penguin, Riddler, and (possibly?) the Court of Owls in the new Reeves film. The trailer gave me the impression that the movie is going to tonally be a blend of this comic and Year One.
This story was a very interesting take on Batman. This version of Alfred seems to be adapted on Gotham and maybe even the DCEU.

REALLY hope Matt Reeves takes inspiration from this storyline for his film, as what has been revealed about it feels very much in line with what was done here. Also, it would be good to take elements from newer stories, like this, instead of once again taking inspiration from the great Long Halloween, which Nolan already took elements from. Fingers crossed
