Tbh I’d prefer if the Batman 2 deals with the court of the owls. Set this a couple years after he becomes Batman, you can use the connection to Haley circus and the Grayson family to bring robin into the dceu

@@lorkrian13 the thing is, did he had a different choice? i don't think so. attacking the sharks might have thrown them off, but the would quickly move to alfred due to his nicked feet. And also, what if those 2 dudes were henchmen?
This comic has a realistic take on addiction. It’s great in so many ways
Kind of smacks of the "war on drugs" age though. Same with the issues of Captain America where he gets exposed to a drug called "ice" that piggybacks on his super soldier serum. The high never stops until he gets a blood transfusion, losing his powers. The idea being that Marvel thought the super soldier serum was promoting drug use.

I agree I'd love to see this get adapted in the batman 2 maybe a little dark but the venom aspect would be interesting

He used what looked like Venom in the last part of the movie, so maybe he starts to rely on it to keep going when he's hurt

I'm oddly surprised and almost(from a story standpoint) glad he didn't have the perfect tool for the boulder. Batman is smart, but he's still human and can't prepare for everything.
They didn’t start doing super god prepared Batman until Grant Morrison.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think the story actually was set early in Batman's carrier before he basically had a Gadgets for everything.
To perfect his own production of the drug would've taken him time and research and in the meantime he was heavily addicted, he didn't have the patience to do all that. That's what addiction does to you, it makes you impulsive and it sure robbed Batman of his mental strength... well, almost.

My favorite part of this whole story is when Batman is searching the bushes for pills and right after he finds them he gets super excited then snaps out of it.
This story is really heartbreaking but also very empowering. Definitely underrated.

@@chengokeishing2.010 Yeah. When the doctor was about to be taken away to prison, he tried to gloat to Batman, but he failed to realize that Batman had done it intentionally. One of those few times that Batman kind of sort of killed someone.

This is one of my most favorite storylines growing up it showed nobody’s perfect…
What you think about that green liquid that Batman uses in climax fight of The Batman. It may be prototype for venom which increases the adrenaline level. He also lost little control of himself. But as you mentioned I doubt matt Reeves and WBD will go that dark especially how mature and dark The Batman movie is.

I read this story I collected Legends of the Dark Knight comics when I was in high school. One summer I took out all 5 issues of Venom and read the entire series in a day. The story was that good I couldn’t stop reading it for the life of me.

You missed the best scene where batman grabs the strength pills and pours them out in front of the mad scientists proving he lost
That is an important plot point in the story. It doesn't just prove that Batman escaped the trap without the pills, Batman was basically killing the guy without actually killing him.

We are talking about the guy who knocks out the likes of Bane as a job. He regularly bodies heavyhitters with smarts alone. If he wanted to, he couldve found a way without killing those 2 dudes.
Since its BATMAN, he couldve jumped into the boat and knocked the dudes out at the same time. He had enough thrust to LIFT A BOAT WHILE SWIMMING not to mention that the boat had 2 people inside, which means that he wouldve definitely been able to jump on the boat. There were oars on the boat he couldve used, and alfred was already in grabbing range. Besides, you really think batman couldnt have fought off the sharks with one of those oars? The dude fucking fist fights Darkseid and survives!

You would think batman would have a gadget and the know how to move giant objects.. either way this is my favorite version of him

The only gadgets I can think of that he'd have on hand is either explosives (which is a bad idea) or taking a rope or cable and tying it around the boulder. Then taking a grapple gun, tying the other end of the cable to it, and firing it at the wall.The retracting grapple line will pull the cable and the boulder. I really don't think he had time for all that.

Didn't look very stable. An explosion might not end well. Also this was written decades before that, so he probably doesn't HAVE explosive gel on hand.
