Stewards Enquiry 1982 TV Documentary

This is a period piece, it shows how enlightened the current BHA is compared to the Jockey Club nearly 40 years ago. It opens with Jockeys Carson & Hide being 'carpeted' at York and goes on to show us how those that didn't make the grade received their black balls.

How desperately sad to see Simon Weatherby here shortly before he died aged just 44! Simon had been very unwell for a number of Year's and undergone a number of surgical treatments but his passing still came as a huge shock and blow to his loving family and many friends.

I too loved seeing the adverts from 40+ years ago 😅.. great these old buffers are no longer in sole charge .

Quite a sharp script - sometimes a certain witty aside: for example, the remark [17.00?] on retaining Piggott’s skin. And the ads! Thanks. 39 years ago ...I wonder when the most recent along similar lines was done? Subbed.
