    I've never understood the usury prices that Rolex charges for their "accessories", such as straps. When I was in my mid-teens my grandparents gave me a stainless Rolex Datejust with a gold fluted bezel. It came with a genuine croc strap with a gold Rolex coronet on the stainless buckle. That was in the late-70's. The watch was brand-new, sitting in my grandfather's drawer since 1969...a gift from a client. He hated wristwatches, choosing to carry a Patek pocket watch.
    I wasn't into a strap, so I went into a Rolex AD and bought a riveted, expandable, hollow end links Oyster bracelet for $35. I recently sold the riveted, expandable bracelet for $4,400. Next I'll sell the unworn croc strap for what the market bears. After that I'll be researching quality 3rd party bracelets, even with the coronet.
    I rarely wear the Rolex because the 36mm case is small for me. I'm for comfortable with a 40mm like my Pagani Design PD-1692 Air King homage. I swear when placing my Rolex and PD-1692 side by side, I can't discern much difference in quality...granted my Rolex was built in 1969.

    This video is what makes your channel a must-see. Incredible production, presentation and information. I'm going to buy the Strapco rubber strap for my Bulova Lunar Pilot. If it doesn't fit, it will go on my Pagani Design PD-1692 Air King homage.
    I ordered a Glidelock clasp from AliExpress. If that isn't good, I'll also get the Strapco "Glidelock" clasp for the PD-1692. The micro-adjust is terrible on the PD-1692 clasp.

    Thanks for such an informative, well executed video yet again. Having strap and clasp combinations that are pre-assembled in sets for ease of changing in one go is my personal preference, especially with or at an affordable price point on more “beater” type watches.
    *Hoppe’s or Remington Rem dry-lube works perfectly with applicable Teflon components after spirited use or routine maintenance.
    Thanks again!!

    I bought a strapsco rubber strap like this, only one end of the band is adjustable so you can’t center the clasp under your wrist after trimming just one end. The clasp is super cheap and bends easily. Strapsco didn’t post my 1 star review on the site, totally unethical. If you notice there are no bad reviews anywhere, and another commenter said his bad review was blocked as well. I will never buy Strapsco again.

    Hi John ! Thank you so much for your expert assistance guiding me to this Strapsco oysterflex strap! It’s good to know and see that the PD clasp fits 😊 I’ve ordered the PD 1664 in the meteorite dial and when it arrives I’m really considering buying an oysterflex strap and fitting the spare PD clasp I’ve got. Forgive the question as I’m learning as I go here, but would I not need the oysterflex strap with straight ends for the 1664 ? I am further considering swapping out the jubilee on my PD Batgirl for a rubber strap, as much as I like the look and managed to adjust the bracelet myself with a wee hack to push the links under the clasp in the spare holes it’s still a little too loose when it’s cold which it is a lot up here in Scotland lol. Looking around for a nice blue to compliment the bezel with a tang and buckle Crafter Blue are looking good but a little pricey v the cost of the watch altho it looks way more expensive on wrist. Thank you for providing these excellent informative and tutorial videos I’m sure you realise just how much watch enthusiasts of all levels enjoy them. 😊

    • @watchreviews4k
      @watchreviews4k  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes Tracy, you would need a straight end strap to fit the PD-1664 as the end links are part of the case so cannot be removed. Regards, #WR4K
