    Actually that cheap chinese cable ($25-$40) is useless. It can't write anything to your vehicle because that's a cheap clone of original dealer cable.
    It can only read information from port and erase errors as a standard Bluetooth scanner..
    So you will receive an error: "ID Registration Failed" when you try to write new TPMS IDs..

I just got my rear tyre replaced, costing £86 extra because of this tyre pressure sensor on a 2016 Toyota Auris. As the sensor is INSIDE the tyre, the ordinary DIY person would not be able to take it out anyway. In my car with flat tire - light is always on and I get “Low pressure” warning. Bad sensor - light flashing, no “Low pressure” warning.
      If you deflate one tire at a time, and get “low pressure” that wheel is good. No warning - sensor is dead.

      You can just install your old sensors into your new wheels.

    what a nightmare ... to change the TMPS battery or replace a faulty TMPS you have to remove the tyre !!
    What a waste of time & money.
    WHAT A STUPID IDEA PUTTING THE SENSORS INSIDE THE TYRE !

    I bought the same cable to use with TIS, i have try to program tpms sensor and i got this error. (Terminate initialization by connecting the TC and CG of the DLC3 for 30 seconds) any ideas....

      The same sh1t with my cable.
      Because those cheap chinese cables can't write information.
      It can only read and erase errors like a regular Bluetooth scanner.
      I tried 3 different versions of Techstream.. still doesn't work.

    After you register the new tpms should the tpms light clear but the tire pressures still show lines?

    Does it matter if you have after market rims and tires?? I will probably have a shop put them in for me After alignment and rotation. However they are not the stock rims and tires. Thanks

    • @DIYtimeTRD
      @DIYtimeTRD  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think you won’t have any issues transferring sensor from old to your new rims. Stem valve holes should be the same.

    Good video. One question. I have a 08 lexis es350 and my car has a full spare wheel with tpms sensor. I plan to change them all but do I have to change the spare too? Can no I just do 4 tires and not all 5?

    • @DIYtimeTRD

      You can do either way. Up to you.

    Is it interchangeable 315 and 433 frequencies!?
    I installed acdelco 315 mhz on my 2019 camry, yet icant do the relearning.
    Tpms devise can’t sense the sensor !

    • @DIYtimeTRD
      @DIYtimeTRD  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Usually not. They are not interchangeable. It has to be very specific frequency.

    • @DIYtimeTRD
      @DIYtimeTRD  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you took a picture of the sensor ID, you can still do that. If not, TPMS tools can read sensor ID’s wirelessly.

    If i dont have the tools to do it myself would it still be a good idea to buy them myself and take them with me to the mechanic the next time i get new/rotate my tires?

    • @Zeeangelofdeath
      @Zeeangelofdeath 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It’s a good idea, but Keep in mind because they didn’t buy them, it won’t be under warranty. Anything a mechanic buys for your car comes with some kind of warranty. If you buy it, it’s up to you to get the warranty honored. It could also mean extra steps to get your car fixed.

    So I mounted the sensors on wheels, now I have to disassemble them to write down their series and then I mount them again for vulcanization and then I pair them ?!

    • @DIYtimeTRD
      @DIYtimeTRD  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you know someone who has it, TPMS tools can read the codes off of the sensors wirelessly:

    Just another thing to milk your pockets. If you check your tire pressure monthly and eyeball before you get in regularly, you don’t need a sensor.

    • @DIYtimeTRD
      @DIYtimeTRD  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You would have to eyeball tires every single time before driving. Once I got a nail and tire slowly deflated 100% overnight. Started the car and got a warning. If I didn't notice that I would destroy the tire and possibly the rim.

    I connected a scanner to the ECU and it reads that sensor 2 is faulty but I don’t know which one is sensor 2? Is that a right front tyre or? All four tyre pressure is the same. Thanks

    • @DIYtimeTRD
      @DIYtimeTRD  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There is no way to tell which one is it. You can rotate tires however you want, but that wont change sensor IDs in the ECU. You can try the trick with deflating one tire at a time and checking which sensor ID has lowered pressure reading.
