First time I rode a Heritage was the 2016 model in Hawaii a few years ago. It was the 103 twin cam motor and I loved it. The newer versions are even better but it’s still the light great handling bike I rode in 2016. Best motorcycle I’ve ever owned. Thanks for watching and commenting. Ride safe!
Hi mate, I just bought one. Exactly the same way and same reason. However I come from Vulcan not from suzu but the same way and I totaly agree with you. Thanks for your video man. Cheers
I almost bought a Vulcan 900 10 years ago when I got back into motorcycle riding but just got a better deal on the Suzuki. The Heritage is a great upgrade from either the Vulcan or Boulevard. Thanks for watching, ride safe and Merry Christmas to you. .
Congrats on your Harley! (Late I know) My Harleys always have the most miles of any of my bikes, because they are that good. I have no worries about jumping on mine and headed cross country! And I subscribed!
Thanks and it’s a great bike for me. Not too big not too small but plenty good enough for touring. My touring consists really mostly long weekends and shorter trips and this is the perfect bike for that.
I’m 65 and just bought a 2019 Heritage Classic 114 for a lot of the same reasons. I had my heart set on an Electra Glide Classic. The sales guy at Texas Harley Davidson suggested the Heritage and it really was a great idea. Next thing I knew I was ringing the bell. You made a nice video and it makes me miss north Georgia. A lot.
We are in the same boat. I think you’ll love the Heritage. I thought I wanted a big touring bike too but glad I bought the lighter Heritage. I remember that every time I’m moving it around my garage thinking it’s so much easier than a bigger touring bike. It’s still comfortable for touring and checks all my boxes. Thanks for watching and commenting. Come on back sometime to North GA and we can ride these great roads together! Ride safe and enjoy the Heritage.
Hello to you GA Just found you great video. Very informative and well said by you. I too am (67) dreaming about cruising those back roads like yours there. I absolutely love the look of your bike. You have given me inspiration. Be well God bless
my friend bought a new 2017 roadglide with the 107ci engine. he rides it for transportation, unlike most people that use it as a toy, he has had numerus problems with it, been in the shop 27 times in the first 20,000 miles. now he is at 40,000 and the oil pump quit. On the bright side, I have a 2005 suzuki c50 t with 40,000 trouble free miles, so I let him borrow mine while his is down. I have never had a problem with my bike, regular maint. oil changes, brakes, tires, and it still looks new. I have replaced my lights to led, and new locking viking bags, as well as chrome accys... I hope you have good luck, and safe travels on your new bike! thank you for your videos, they have helped me, and many others... cheers to you sir
I had a 2005 Suzuki C50T too and I had no problems with it except for a new clutch. It was an extremely reliable bike and I’m hoping for the same with the Heritage. So far so good. Thanks for watching and ride safe.
@@GARamblinMan Its a great bike....And to be honest 1 up you can tour on it also...Its a great all around Bike for guy that only wants one Bike that can do everything👍
We got our HD Heritage Classic 114 in 2019. I agree with most everything you say, after owning many metric bikes, at 65 years old I just wanted the Harley. No regrets, we love this bike, ride safe friend, Jim & Libby.
Looks like we are in the same boat. No regrets here either. It’s going to be a beautiful week here in the Southeast and I intend to take a few long rides. Thanks for watching and commenting.
I picked up my 2021 Heritage 114 Saturday. Road Saturday and Sunday now have 251 miles on it. So comfortable, you were so right! Thanks for a great review. Very helpful!
I have 2018 114 stage 2. Love it! Just had my 3rd back surgery after a workplace accident. Looking forward to April 2023. Thanks when I ride again after surgery.
Hope your back heals quickly. I had to have surgery right after I bought my new Heritage 2 years ago and my new motorcycle sat in my garage for a month. Good luck!
I agree and it’s one of the reasons I bought it. Plus it’s good looks, classic style and all the modern technology made it an easy pick for me. Thanks for watching. Ride safe.
Good luck and you won’t be disappointed in the Heritage. There are just so many great bikes to choose from it’s a tough decision! Thanks for watching and good luck.
Congratulations on your new HD. I’m 59 and for many of the same reasons you give, my 2019 Heritage Classic was the best choice. Perfect for what I do around town and for longer trips. My wife is okay riding 2 up for trips, as long as it’s not more than 300 miles per day. Perfect! It’s such an easy bike to cruise slowly around town. The vivid black is awesome to look at. Keep riding safe.
I have a 2021 Heritage Classic and have had it for almost a year and love it. I’m headed to the Twisted Sisters here in Texas next month to go motorcycle camping and ride the girls. I recommend a backrest 100%.
Great explanations for your decision. I’ve owned 4 Harleys and the Heritage Classic was by far my favorite. Glad your surgery went well. I’m sure the Mustang seat and backrest will be a game changer. Enjoy the new ride!
The Mustang seat was great on my old Suzuki Boulevard and I'm sure it will be equally as good on the Heritage. Really looking forward to seeing how I like the back rest. Thanks for watching and I love this Heritage model. Ride safe
I am your age and own the same bike and it is amazing but two things that I purchased for it that made it even more amazing is: "I have a bad back too" and I purchase the driver backrest from hogworks that installs with no tools and a set of bolt on bluetooth speakers for the handlebars which are wonderful to listen to music from my ipod! The advantage of the bolt on speakers is: you can remove the windshield and still have your music. I also own a full fairing with vents from reckless industries which just snaps on to your existing windshield mounts that I use when it is cold out. Wonderful bike that is so versatile.
I’ve been thinking about some Bluetooth speakers but I usually listen through my Sena on the speakers inside my helmet. Thanks for watching and commenting. I love my Heritage a lot!
Great bike. Congratulations & welcome to the HD club... Can't wait to hear more about your new ride. Please do a walk-around too. Love all your videos!
Thanks and it’s good to finally own a nice Harley-Davidson. I did a walk around video a couple of weeks ago. Check it out. Thanks for watching and commenting. Ride safe.
I’m loving it so far. Goes in for initial 1,000 mile service next week. Have you added any different exhaust to yours yet? I’m thinking about it but just not sure of if or what brand slip on I might go with. Thanks for watching and commenting. Ride safe.
@@GARamblinMan Motor, intake and exhaust are still stock and running fine for me. Still on the stock rider seat (comfortable for me), and switched to a Sundowner passenger pillion and a quick release sissy bar for the wife and daughter. I made it to the York factory and back (total about 500 miles). No aches or pains, and I probably have a couple of years on you. When you wash it, cover the speedometer with plastic to avoid having the glass fog up.
@@GARamblinMan I’m trying to decide what bike I want to purchase I use to ride in my younger days I had a Suzuki 700 but I think at my age now probably a touring bike
You think exactly like I do. I have a 2007 Boulevard C50, bought it new in 2007. I have also been wanting a new bike, and you bought the exact bike I been looking at, for all the same reasons. I think it’s closest to the Boulevard, only bigger motor, and a little more weight. I do like the Indian Super Chief limited, but I don’t like their saddle bags. Watching your video, has convinced me, my next bike will be the Heritage, because you basically covered all the same reasons I would buy one.
The Heritage is a lot like the Boulevard with all the shortcomings of the Boulevard addressed. More powerful motor, cruise control, ABS brakes, better gauges, lockable saddle bags and a fuel gage. It’s just a little bit heavier but handles wonderfully in my opinion. I am very happy with it. I loved my C50T for a long time and hated to get rid of it but this was definitely an upgrade. Good luck in your search for the new bike. You won’t regret getting a Heritage. Thanks for watching and commenting. .
I’m looking at the heritage 114 2022. I’ve already test rode a heritage . And the ride was smooth and loved the way it handled compared to my street bob
It’s bigger and heavier than your Street Bob but handles like a smaller bike and the ride and comfort is much better. I know you’ll love it. Plus with the windshield and bags it can be used for light touring no problem. Thanks for watching and good luck with your purchase. Ride safe
Glad the surgery went well. I’m 67 years old and know what you mean about pushing a big touring bike around the garage! I think the Softails are the perfect size for everything but two up touring.
Wishing you the best with your new ride. I have also been carefully looking at this HD model and i like the looks. Before i forget Happy Holidays to you and yours, Peace.
Happy Holidays to you too. Take this bike for a test ride and I predict you will buy it. I love mine so far. Thanks for watching and commenting. Ride safe.
Congrats on the new bike! My uncle has a 2019 Heritage and loves it. I had the good fortune of riding it one day and it is a very nice ride! We have a 2020 Road Glide Limited with the 114 and coming from a 107 I'm very happy with the motor. I'm sure that 114 in the Heritage will be a blast to ride!
The 114 is an awesome motor for any model but for the lighter Heritage it’s a rocket. I can only imagine the new Street Bob 114. I love the Road Glide. If I would have gone with a touring model that would have been my choice. Thanks for watching.
Good choice!! I also have a Heritage 114 same color! I had a 2012 Road King before this , a great bike but getting harder to move around at 65. The Heritage feels light and handles like a sportster. Leans over through the twisties and very comfortable. I was going to change the seat but decided to wait till I put 1000 miles on it to see if it would break in and it did.I have a bit over 3500 miles on her now and do about 200-250 miles in a day on weekends. Love this bike!!
I love it too for the same reasons. I thought about a Road King but I just didn’t want the extra bulk. The Heritage rides just as great in my opinion. Thanks for watching and have fun on the bike.
The wife and I have a Tri-glide with the 114. Great engine. Plenty of power for our two butts and the heavy trike! I have a '14 Heritage Classic. Love it. I am a bit more old school though. Classics need the big leather bags. I don't like the tiny ones that come with the new ... Have fun!
The 114 Milwaukee 8 is a pretty awesome motor. The thing I like about the bags on the new models is that they are rigid and hind their shape over time. Some of my riding buddies who owned the older Heritage models do say the old bags held more. Thanks for watching and ride safe.
It should be good and broke in now. In my mid sixties now and just got my first ever Harley, a 2021 Heritage Classic. I chose a used one with 6k miles because it had engine and saddlebag guards already.
I ride a Honda Shadow Aero. I recently recognized that after adding the Mustang seat, floorboards, windshield, highway bars, passing lights, saddle bags, exhaust system, etc., I'd made it into a pseudo-Heritage. Might as well have just bought a Heritage with a better drivetrain and brakes. Anyway, I get it why you chose the Heritage, and I hope you'll enjoy it a lot.
My Suzuki C50T Boulevard was a pretty much a clone of the Heritage and the price was way less, but I like the bigger motor, ABS, cruise control and updated electronics including a fuel gage on my new Heritage. Love it so far. Thanks for watching.
I like the big touring bikes too, but just wanted something a little smaller this time and I could still do some long weekends on and even longer since I travel light anyway. The Heritage fit the bill perfectly and I love it. Thanks for watching and good luck. You will really like the Heritage I’m sure.
Good to see you still posting. I missed the last one apparently and was starting to wonder. I just got back from the Ga DMV today, renewing my motorcycle permit again. Lost count how many times I have done that in the last 20 years. Buts that's part of living in the forgotten counties of North Georgia, that don't do Motorcycle driving tests. Now to the want ads to find this summer's motorcycle.
@@GARamblinMan I would go that way too, but I believe the closest MSF course is the Honda riding academy in Alpharetta, at least 2 and a half hours southeast of me. So hotels, time off, house sitters. Ironically, a class is taught at Chattanooga State College, where I commuted to when I was in college. But they don't accept it because it's given in Tennessee. By about 5 miles.
Happy to hear you have recuperated from surgery and that it went well. I love the new bike. I think you will be happy with the Heritage. I have a 2020 with the 114 and I have been impressed with mine. Tide safe and enjoy, my friend.
What a fantastic video, very educational and entertaining at the same time, love the way you describe the experience, you have a nice sudden engaging voice 👍🏼 it was a lovely ride. Thanks Sir.
I liked the Street Glide and Road Glide a lot. I chose the Heritage because I wanted a smaller lighter (and less expensive) motorcycle. I really haven’t ridden a motorcycle I didn’t like, so it was a hard decision for me. Thanks for watching.
The first new Harley I ever bought was a '91 Heritage Softail Classic, in stunning "Candy Sapphire Sunglo", and that paint name suited it perfectly. That bike took me all over Australia, following the work, from the top of Queensland to the bottom of South Australia, and points in between. Now I've got a '06 Softail Standard (well, not quite so "standard" anymore), I really love this bike, with the EFI and minimal engine warm-up time. But, every time I do a long distance trip, I miss that Heritage. I even miss the "start-up ritual", ignition on, pull the choke all the way out, two pumps of the throttle, hit the starter button, then ease the choke in to about half, give it another minute or so, then ease off the choke, all the way in, bring the throttle up a little and lock it in with the little "wheel" under the throttle, and when the heads are warm to the touch, undo that little wheel, let her idle whilst putting on the jacket and helmet, and away I go, being careful not to wind her up too much for the first ten km's or so, then let 'er rip! Yeah, I miss that bike.
@@GARamblinMan Sure was, that colour name perfectly described it. Photos just didn't do it justice, she literally sparkled in the sun, but not over the top, still subtle, but it got a lot of looks, in all the 15 years I owned her, I reckon I may have seen one other Harley in that colour. I was really happy with it, because way back then, every Harley that hit our shores was already pre-sold. There was only one Harley on the showroom floor, the dealer principals own ride, a Dyna, so I had to choose my bike from a catalogue! It took six months to get here, right smack in the middle of winter! I didn't care, I rode it everywhere, and loved every second. Did I tell you that I miss that bike?😭😂Ride safe, stay healthy, and don't forget to keep the shiny side up.👍🇭🇲
Great review! I've owned many, many bikes and my most recent was a '16 RGS. I sold it last year and have been looking. I think that may be this bike is the perfect, most flexible HD out there. Thanks!
Thanks and I agree it’s the most underrated HD in their line up. Small and light enough to be a great bike to run around town on and big enough and comfortable for touring. Ride safe and I know you’ll love it if you buy one.
Congrats on the new Heritage. They are sweet bikes for sure. Mine is a 2016 and I love the classic look. Glad your surgery went well. I was just diagnosed with bulging disks and am scheduled for pain management first. Ride safe and free.
Thanks for the nice comments. Hope your back is ok. My problem was a compression fracture of a vertebrae and the surgery fixed that and took the pressure off the disk so I’m good to go. Ride safe.
Thanks for putting this vid up. On your follow up video please mention things like acceleration, braking on wet roads, mechanical issues encountered and your height/weight.
I have been looking hard at this bike. Going back and forth between this and the Indian Super Chief. I have not ridden either but have sat on them. Watching videos like this, it sure seems like the Heritage is a little smoother and laid back of a ride although I doubt you could make a wrong choice between the two.
I agree - you won’t go wrong with either the Heritage or Indian Chief. Indian introduced the new Chief models about a month after I bought the Heritage so I have not ridden those but they seem very similar to the Heritage. I would like to take a comparison ride one day and the new Sport Chief looks great too. I want to try that one. I really like the 114 motor on the Heritage models. I rode the 111 Thunder Stroke motor in an Indian Springfield a few years ago and honestly thought it was not as good as the Harley-Davidson Milwaukee 8 motors. But was just my opinion. Like I said I don’t think you would be disappointed in either the Chief or Heritage. Probably comes down to styling and the deal you can get either from your local Harley-Davidson or Indian dealer. Good luck and let me know what you pick. Thanks for watching and your comments.
It would appear thjat we are very like minded GA. I am in my sixties, always rode metrics but promised myself a Harley at some stage of my riding life. The tourers are too heavy and as stated, very expensive. I have a fully kitted out ADV bike for any big touring I do, but the Heritage appeals to me because it is simplistic, affordable and in my opinion, it has the iconic look of the Harley motorcycle. This will no doubt be my next new bike. I really like the chromed 107 m8 model in the crimson and white two tone. Riders back rest will also be a must to have! Congrats on the new girl, and I'm looking forward to watching your future videos on your Heritage. Stay safe mate.
We do think alike. I like the Crimson and white color scheme on the 2021 models a lot too. That color combo with some wide whitewalls would be awesome. Thanks for watching and commenting. Ride safe.
Nice review. You mentioned the new Indian Chief which I test rode. My next test ride soon a 2022 H.D. Heritage Classic. Hard choice. Spend the ca$h, you don't want to have buyers remorse.
I would like to test ride the new Indian Chief. I don’t think it would have changed my mind, but it’s definitely a competitive bike for the Heritage. I know you will like the Heritage. Good luck!
@@GARamblinMan thank you I will. Its the best motorcycle for me but its my first bike and my first Harley so I have nothing to compare it to , I will take your word for it hehe
I know you have been talking about getting a Harley for a while now. I'm nit suprised you went with a heritage. I had an 09 loved it. But moved up to the touring platform I've has a street glide and now on my second road glide. But if it gets to much to handle I will trade it in on a smaller bike. Congratulations I know your gonna love it!
I really like the Road Glide but just don’t do enough long distance riding to justify getting it. I love the Heritage so far. Thanks for watching and commenting. Ride safe.
Congratulations again on your new bike and glad your surgery went well. Really looking forward to riding again as my new Heritage has not arrived at the dealership yet, but should be any day now. I to have ordered a new seat with a backrest because being 65 and after having had one on my old Ultra Limited it is a must for my Heritage. I have been watching many of your Motovlogs lately and just wanted to say that I have enjoyed them very much. So well-spoken. Great Job
I know you’ll be excited to get the new Heritage delivered. Something about Spring just makes us want to get out and ride. Thanks for watching and the kind comments. I really appreciate everyone watching my videos. It’s a great hobby and I love doing it. Ride safe.
I loved my heritage while i had it but eventually got a street glide. The windshield on the heritage just didn’t keep the wind off me enough in the cold weather. Still an amazing bike though
I do find that the wind comes up from the bottom around the windshield and gas tank. I might try some lower deflectors next fall when it starts to get cold again. The Street Glide is a super bike. I rented one in Arizona a couple of years ago and rode around the desert for a week and loved it. Thanks for watching and commenting. Ride safe.
You have a beautiful bike. I added a few things to my bike,or they are ready to install. I bought the automatic clutch for my bike. That clutch cost me about $800+. Yes I bought the 131 kit too, and other items to literally support that big bore. I have legends front and rear, condenser, clutch bowl, and more,, etc.... I also added more cosmetic items in black, and my 1/75 Ranger Battalion scroll with Regiment Crest derby with Regiment timer cover. I might change timer to 1/75 Flash with jumpwings in the middle. I will keep it a sleeper for a little bit. I love my 2019 Harley-Davidson Heritage Classic FLHCS 114, until it turns into the 131. Enjoy your beautiful bike that can transform into many styles.
You’re doing some great upgrades. This is the fun part of owning a Harley-Davidson. I’m putting Vance & Hines Eliminator 300 slip on exhaust on mine tomorrow.
@@GARamblinMan You're right, it makes it my original. This is my first Harley. Some of my upgrades actually was helprd by a youngster who hit my bike after having it two months in my parkingspace, a little bit of credit, my insurance, and my 80% Service Connected Disability check. The youngster left his name and number, and when I walked to my bike he came over. I let him off. I had the Screamin Eagle Slip-On exhaust, now I will get rid of black end caps for it. I bought those California legal pipes. I think I need a backrest for myself, you might need one for your beast. Enjoy that beast of a bike.
Congrats on the new bike. I hear you about a bike getting to big and heavy but I like the extra wind protection and radio. Still have my Kawasaki Voyager but recently picked up a Triumph Trophy SE. Been very happy with it. It's only about 650 lbs.
I think the Kawasaki Voyager is the Best Buy you can get on a full size touring motorcycle. I like it and the Vaquero and even considered the Vaquero Thanks for watching and ride safe.
Congratulations man! I don’t like to waste money and I bought a new HD Sport Glide lSt year because of the same reasons you mentioned. HD has the best dealership and aftermarket parts network. The techs are certified by the factory and you can call around to make sure your aren’t getting screwed for a routine mx visit. The metric dealership shops have high turnover and don’t specialize in a specific make or even vehicle type.
I considered the new Sport Glide and really liked the styling of that bike. It’s very cool. We agree on a lot of things. Thanks for watching and commenting. Ride safe.
CONGRATULATIONS , and a big welcome to the Harley-Davidson family , you will love this bike , you have made a great choice . It is a shame the metric cruiser industry dropped their heavy cruisers . Such as the Raider S , Stratoliner , Roadliner , and the Honda 1300 , and 1800 VTX , all were great heavy cruisers . For me H-D is where you want to be , the massive amount of dealers , and the connection with the riders from the world over that you will meet is amazing . Ride safe my friend , and enjoy this new life .
I may have considered another Suzuki Boulevard if they would have updated the bike a little with ABS, cruise control and lockable bags, but I guess that’s how they sell it at less than $10K by not having those things. Thanks for watching.
Just Bought a 2020 from Southern Devil in Cartersville. Traded a 2009 Ultra. My wife is actually more comfortable on the Heritage. I'm in Morganton and was trying to figure out what road you were riding. North GA is motorcycle heaven!
You’re right there - I love the great roads in North GA. I live in Cumming and I started this video out on Franklin Goldmine Road and then turned onto GA Hwy 369 and then north on Yellow Creek Road just east of Ball Ground, GA. Good road close to my house. Thanks for watching and have fun on your new Heritage!
Happy to hear your surgery went well! Sounds like you got the perfect bike for you, and the way you ride. I love the clarity of your videos, That's Hi Def! I am out of work at the moment due to a broken back, but I don't need surgery, just some Physical Therapy....
The GoPro Hero 8 camera makes some amazing videos. I always record in 1080p at 60fps and the picture is always great especially on a nice sunny day. Thanks for watching and commenting. Ride safe and hope your back feels better.
I’m kind of enjoying the quieter ride out on the road but I do miss the sound of those Cobra pipes on my Boulevard. I said I was in no hurry to put mufflers on the new Harley but I’ll probably put some slip on pretty soon. I have my eye on either the S&S Grand National slip ons or the Vance & Hines Eliminator 300’s.
A lot of parallels. I am in my late 60s. I rode a '59 pan head in high school and had some other bikes, but hadn't really ridden for about 40 years and wanted to start riding again. They call us "returning riders." So last year I rented a Road King but it was too heavy for me, so I bought a Suzuki Boulevard 50. It is a great bike. Fun and easy to ride and runs cool and looks good. Then a couple of months ago I was used to riding again and I was ready to try a Harley. This time the Road King was no problem to ride, but I ride mostly around town, and I really like the look of the Heritage. So I got a black 2021 Heritage Softail 114. I had chrome handlebars put on it, front and rear crash bars, and a heel shifter. I also got a heel guard from Carl Miles because I was tired of my boots melting on the exhaust pipe, and it works great. And I love the bike. l
The Heritage is a great choice for anyone but especially returning riders like you. Easy to handle and relatively light weight compared to the big touring bikes. Thanks for watching.
Just pulled the trigger on a 2021 Heritage with the 114 motor, thanks to your great review. I love the look of those mirrors - how do you like them? Could you please provide details of those mirrors and pricing. Thank you.
The mirrors are Harley-Davidson Dominion Mirrors. They are $219.95 on Harley-Davidson website. Just go to parts tab and enter in your year and model of motorcycle and all the parts that fit your bike will show up. Mirrors is its own category. I also got the Dominion grips. I know you’ll love the bike! Ride safe.
It’s not too bad. Certainly a lot easier than the big touring bikes like Street Glide and Road Glide but heavier than a Sportster for sure. I’ve gotten used to it and I’ll keep it as long as I can still muscle it around. Thanks for watching.
Sweet piece. Just wondering if you don't mind me asking why didn't you choose a new Suzuki C50T ? Hope you get lots of smiles per miles on the beautiful new bike .
I just decided to try a different bike this time. Loved my Suzuki C50T but thought it was time to try something different - plus I've always wanted a Harley-Davidson and now I have one. Thanks for watching and the well wishes.
Heritage , what a great selection you picked, perfect for what you need, I have the Road King for trips, my wife rides pillion , so I needed a larger bike which woks well for me, Have a sporty also for running around locally .
If I had a passenger I would probably have chosen the Road King but for my needs the Heritage was perfect. Thanks for watching and commenting. Ride safe. I may get a Street Bob for a 2nd bike to run around town in. I just Rex to wait a year or so and pick up a used one for a good price.
Ready to buy my first Harley torn between the Road King Special or the Heritage classic decided last night to buy the RKS now after seeing your video i am confused again, I am 58 years old and do maybe 2 or 3 overnight trips with my partner on the back my concern with the RKS is the weight and the price and my concern with the Heritage classic is the spoke wheels and single discs front brake any advice would be greatly appreciated
For two up riding the Road King may be a better choice although I think it’s definitely doable on the Heritage. I chose the Heritage because I ride solo and wanted a touring bike with the bags and windscreen but lighter and more nimble than the RK. I think the single disc brake is fine for the Heritage at its lighter weight. Of course I’m not trying to come to a screeching halt from 100 mph. For normal riding it’s fine and with the ABS it’s perfectly safe in my opinion. The other reason I like the Heritage is the 114 motor. You have to step up to the Road King Special to get the 114 in the RK model. Then you have to add the windshield and the bike is lowered some and that affects the ride quality. I think the Heritage is a better choice if you want the 114 for price and ride quality reasons. But it really comes down to which motorcycle you really like the looks of and the way it makes you feel when you ride it. I just felt at home right away on the Heritage and loved the styling so I chose it. Test ride both and go with your gut feeling as to which one is best for you. Thanks for watching and good luck! You’ll be happy with either bike I’m sure.
Thank you for the great reply, 50% of my riding will be solo and at 58 years old the Heritage is 30ks light than the Road King Special which like, in Australia Harley dont do demo days like in the states but I will try and test ride both, I change bikes often but I want the next one to my last so will take my time and make sure I make the right choice. Ride safe
Purchased my heritage new in 2011...its a big smile a day bike. Great vid.
Ride safe!

And sometimes I wish I had the Ultra with all its goodies. We need several bikes in our garage! Thanks for watching!

I think it’s one of Harley’s best bikes ever. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for watching, ride safe and Merry Christmas to you. .

I’ve had it for a year and a half and love it. No regrets at all. Thanks for watching!

Traded my limited for a heritage! Same reasons as you. I can tour if I want. Or strip it down and cruise on something simple. It’s Harley’s best bike.
I agree with everything you say. It’s definitely Harley-Davidson’s best motorcycle in my humble opinion. Thanks for watching and ride safe!
I bought a 23 last week and have the engine guards on order. Stay safe 😎
You’re going to love it! Good call on getting the engine guards right away. Have fun!
I love my 2018 😍. Congratulations!
I love mine too! Thanks for watching.
Hello to you GA
Just found you great video. Very informative and well said by you. I too am (67) dreaming about cruising those back roads like yours there. I absolutely love the look of your bike. You have given me inspiration.
Be well
God bless
Thanks for watching and we are never too old to get out and enjoy motorcycles and the great roads they can take us on. Take care.
my friend bought a new 2017 roadglide with the 107ci engine.
he rides it for transportation, unlike most people that use it as a toy,
he has had numerus problems with it, been in the shop 27 times in the first 20,000 miles.
now he is at 40,000 and the oil pump quit.
I got my first Harley-Davidson at 53 and chose the heritage still love it 👍👍👍👍🍺😎
This is my first at 64. I love it and shouldn’t have waited this long.
Isn’t it a great feeling to be riding a new motorcycle! I’m sure you’re loving it. Ride safe my friend.
Just bought my very first Harley/motorcycle. The 2023 heritage.
little big for a first bike, but I love it!
Great choice! You’ll get used to it pretty quick. Just take your time and enjoy!
Good luck!
Love my 2018 Heritage smooth ride
I got mine 2020 19.500 out the door with Vance and hines added love the 114
You got a good deal. I love the 114 with the Vance & Hines exhaust.
The Heritage is the perfect bike if you want to travel but want something more nimble than a full bagger.
I agree and it’s one of the reasons I bought it. Plus it’s good looks, classic style and all the modern technology made it an easy pick for me. Thanks for watching. Ride safe.
Glad your surgery went well, welcome to the Heritage Family.
Back feels great after the surgery snd it’s good to have such a beautiful new Heritage. Thanks for watching. Ride safe.
Ty for your feed back, been considering a heritage too, this helped w few questions I had!
Good luck and you won’t be disappointed in the Heritage. There are just so many great bikes to choose from it’s a tough decision! Thanks for watching and good luck.
In looking at my first street bike being a Harley, you have sold me! Great video keep up the good work.
It’s a great bike. You’ll be amazed at the comfort and power this motorcycle has. Good luck and ride safe!
Been riding for about 10 years now, I’m picking up my first Harley next week and it’s a heritage. It just fit me so well.
It was my first Harley-Davidson too. I predict you will love it. Ride safe!
It’s definitely the perfect bike for me. Thanks for watching and commenting. Ride safe.
Me too, 60 on July 23. I bought my 2019 FLHCS last year on my birthday. I actually love Beastette (my bike).
I have a 2021 Heritage Classic and have had it for almost a year and love it. I’m headed to the Twisted Sisters here in Texas next month to go motorcycle camping and ride the girls. I recommend a backrest 100%.
The Mustang seat with the backrest is great. I can ride for hours comfortably. Twisted Sisters is on my bucket list for sure! Thanks for watching.
@@GARamblinMan I was doing that but it was hurting my eardrums so I went with the speakers which frees up my helmet for the phone!
Ride safe.
@@GARamblinMan How could I have missed that. Thanks!
Glad your back surgery went well and your back out riding. The Heritage is a beautiful bike. Congrats again. Ride safe.
Back surgery was successful and glad to be back on bike. Thanks for watching and the well wishes.
You will enjoy the Heritage for a long time. I bought my 2018 FLHC new and is pushing 12k miles now. Congratulations!
Glad to hear your surgery went well. And congrats on the new ride!! She’s a beaut!!
Ride safe
Thanks Rob. So far so good!
Hi there I live in the Georgia area too. Like your Videos
Thanks. I appreciate the nice comment. Ride safe and thanks for watching
Thanks for watching and commenting. .
Have a 16 heritage teal white love it. Best of luck
I loved that color scheme when they introduced it in 2016. Great looking motorcycle. Thanks for watching!
My goodness sir! I am happy that you picked this bike up. Do a walk around. Congratulations!
Thanks Bob. It’s a great bike and I’m loving it. I did a walk around a couple weeks ago. Take a look and thanks for watching.
@@GARamblinMan Will do my friend!
Ride safe
@@GARamblinMan thanks bro great video #ridefree
Totally agree with these points; we just got our first Harley, and it's also a Heritage! :) Thanks for sharing!
Glad the surgery went well. I’m 67 years old and know what you mean about pushing a big touring bike around the garage! I think the Softails are the perfect size for everything but two up touring.
We think alike and since I don’t do any two up riding the Heritage was a perfect fit for me. Thanks for watching.
I had a ultra and I loved it, but I bought a 21 heritage for the same reasons you did, good video, enjoy the ride
It’s a great bike. Light but still highway comfortable. Thanks for watching and ride safe on your new 21 Heritage.
Ride safe.
Good choice, congrats, welcome to the Family! On my 10th HD in 38 years, ‘18 Road King, everything I need, nothing I don’t! Safe Travels y’all 😎
Glad to finally own a Harley-Davidson. Thanks for watching and ride safe.
That is one good looking Bike. All class. Great to see your videos again. Have a great start to your season.
Spring has sprung around here so I look forward to getting out this new Heritage a lot. Thanks for watching. Ride safe.
I love the complete style of your FLHCS. You have a nice bike.
Great vid and great bike!
Congratulations on your new ride. Lovely bike.
Thanks. I love it so far and am looking forward to many happy miles. Thanks for watching and ride safe.
Outstanding choice! I love my 2018 Heritage, has the ability to go distance comfortably or scoot around town with ease. Enjoy and shiny side up!
That’s why I bought it too. I love it. Thanks for watching and commenting. Ride safe.
Congratulations on your new ride, black is the faster color lol🤣!!!
It’s very black and very fast! Thanks for watching. Ride safe.
Nice
Thanks for watching!
It should be good and broke in now. In my mid sixties now and just got my first ever Harley, a 2021 Heritage Classic. I chose a used one with 6k miles because it had engine and saddlebag guards already.
Congratulations and I know you will love the Heritage. I was in my 60’s and this was my first Harley too. Have fun on the new bike!
Thanks for the vid. I'm considering the same bike after stepping off of a police electra glide. Beautiful bike man!
Good luck in your search. I got my license at the end of the MSF course. Georgia accepts their test for a motorcycle endorsement.
Love that 114 motor. Sometimes I have to remind myself to hang on when I twist the throttle just a bit too much. Thanks for watching. Ride safe.
@@GARamblinMan I hear you. I just had the stage 1 upgrade and the bike will definitely run out from under you if you don't pay attention.

Thanks Mr G. I love it. I’ll try not to run it off the road on that damned Back of the Dragon.
Great video, what didn’t you like about the street glide compared to the heritage,,thanks and ride safe!
I liked the Street Glide and Road Glide a lot. I chose the Heritage because I wanted a smaller lighter (and less expensive) motorcycle. I really haven’t ridden a motorcycle I didn’t like, so it was a hard decision for me. Thanks for watching.
@@GARamblinMan thanks greatly appreciate the info ride safe!!
I bet that color was awesome! I know how you feel.
Did I tell you that I miss that bike?😭😂Ride safe, stay healthy, and don't forget to keep the shiny side up.👍🇭🇲
Great Review
You covered all the points and then some.
Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed it. Ride safe.
@@GARamblinMan Dude, thanks very much. Very heads up review. Helped me a lot.
I'm really liking the looks and size of the Heritage. If I could get one for $250 per month with nothing down, i'd do it! Congrats on your purchase
I love the Heritage. Save your money and put a big down payment and you can do it. Thanks for watching.
Will do. Good suggestions. Thanks for watching.

I love mine too. I’ve had it for a little over 3 months now and definitely made the right choice for me. Thanks for watching. Ride safe.
Congratulations on your new HD , a really nice looking bike enjoy it.
Thanks Melvin. It is the perfect bike for me and I’m loving it. Thanks for watching and commenting. Ride safe.
Good luck!
Congrats on your new bike, same reasons I bought mine . Enjoy it, I love the M8 also
That 114 motor on this softail frame is a winner. This bike might just be the perfect motorcycle. Thanks for watching and ride safe.

The newer Heritage models are great. Not much difference if any in the 2018's and the 2020's. Thanks for watching and ride safe.
Congratulations again on your new bike and glad your surgery went well. Really looking forward to riding again as my new Heritage
has not arrived at the dealership yet, but should be any day now.
Ride safe.
Great video. Have you reinvested in tools now that you are no longer in a metric bike?
No need for tools yet, but I do have a small tool bag with a few essentials. Hopefully not needed! Thanks for watching and commenting.
Great video.. BTW. What gloves are you wearing . Look comfortable
My dream bike is the Heritage Soft Tail Classic. I am 80 now so maybe I should talk with my credit union. Good to know about the Mustang seat. Thanks.
Go for it!

🙏😂😂😂 🤡
Congratulations man! I don’t like to waste money and I bought a new HD Sport Glide lSt year because of the same reasons you mentioned. HD has the best dealership and aftermarket parts network. The techs are certified by the factory and you can call around to make sure your aren’t getting screwed for a routine mx visit. The metric dealership shops have high turnover and don’t specialize in a specific make or even vehicle type.
I considered the new Sport Glide and really liked the styling of that bike. It’s very cool. We agree on a lot of things. Thanks for watching and commenting. Ride safe.
Good decision brother. Nice breakdown of your decision. I think you’ll be happy for years to come.
Thanks and I think I’ll be happy for many years to come on this new bike. Thanks for watching and commenting.

@@GARamblinMan Thank you very much!!
I have the same bike and I absolutely love it, great video
It's really best riding and handling motorcycle I've ridden. Thanks for watching.
@@GARamblinMan I completely agree I think its the best and most versatile Harley. I have a walk around video on my channel check it out
Great looking bike...funny that your new Harley is quieter than your Boulevard was. For now.
They call us "returning riders."
So last year I rented a Road King but it was too heavy for me, so I bought a Suzuki Boulevard 50.
Enjoy the bike, I love black bikes, most of mine have been black over the years. My Victory Vision is the first non black I’ve had in years!
I’ve had two black ones in a row now. I like black cars and motorcycles. Thanks for watching and commenting. Ride safe.
glad you are doing well. I had back surgery so I know the struggles lol
Hope you’re doing well too. Any kind of surgery is bad but back surgery really stinks.
Ride safe.
Gorgeous bike, but isn't it a handful to move around the garage?
Ride safe
Australia is on my bucket list for riding. I follow a number of Australian riders and the scenery is awesome!
