- In this video me and my bro British legend aka @harryjaggardtravel visit the Medina Market and souqs. I take $100 convert it to Tunisian Dinar and do a challenge exploring the market and the souqs inside Tunis, Tunisia. I attempt to speak with all the sellers in Arabic and share with you, how much $100 can buy in the market with a little negotiation mixed in.

The guy who sold you the Tunisian Jersey was such a good soul. You guys were far from understanding each other, he doesn't get the Levantine dialect. The original price of 35DT was a very fair price, and he didn't get upset at all even getting it all down to 20DT which I am pretty he got low to non benefits from the sale. He expected you to come back and pay the remaining 5DT but he wasn't concerned if you didn't. He is a blessed person whom I can call my countryman proudly
It’s sad to see, 35dt really was a fair price; this boy haggled down and then took more than agreed
Agree, 35 dt for the jersey is an extremely low price, I expected to a big tip there for this honest price ...
Really disappointing. It was already a good and fair price. I hope that the guy & his shop are doing good.
the old man trying to take you to the souk wasn't lying btw , there's a lot of maze-like ways that lead to it that are all empty and scary even for us locals , stay safe and enjoy your stay :))
37:00 😂😂😂😂😂 the Tunisian sense of humor ist just amazing
🤫🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂 i laughed at that too by the way am a local and i know what he means by that scorpion gift😂😂😂
😂😂😂
Tunisia people are awsome...i loved there..100% safe
Agreed, amazing people!!❤️🇹🇳
Don't waste your time just in the capital souk you must go to some specific places like:
-sidi bousaid
-kasr el jam (tunisian coliseum)
-the desert and different south regions
-historical places (carthage, karaouane, jam, testour...)
I highly recommend testour for historical monument
You can find in the south a location where they filmed the star wors movie and I recommend spending a night in the desert and try the berber lifestyle and their food

Welcome to Tunisia! i am really proud of my country, they really dont over charge the tourists , u're getting a good deal on things u buy.
Tunisian/algerian/morrocan accents are the hardest arab accents but you still managed to hold the conversations like a pro!!bravo😍
Thank you so much!!🙏
Agreed, they are much different!!❤️
OMG..Ahmed dude telling u to buy a scorpion for your mom inlaw had me laughing so hard.Tunisians are so kind. And they werent speaking tunisian arabic with you ya khayee. You're sounding like a guy from a lebanese day3aa..times seem tough there..would have been nice if u let them keep the change!

From my personal experience, Everyone understands Tunisian, unless it's polluted in a very ugly way by French loan words from people who want to show off ..any one from the Mashreq pretending not to understand Tunisian is just lying.
Iam from jordan 🇯🇴 😊and i wish to visit Tunisia 🇹🇳😊
you can't imagine how happy the cactus guy was with that tip XD ... you made his day
Hope he had a better day!!

Rakitic looks amazing with you buddy ❤
Your Arabic is not bad so in case if someone doesn't understand what you were saying it's only because the dialect difference only , Your Lebanese accent is well understood in the Levant region it gets little harder as you go further from this region but great hospitality and great people same all over the Arab world.
I think lebanese accent is a great choice when learning arabic. I believe its very well understood in the majority of arab countries because of lebanons big contribution in Arab Music and media alongside egyptian but egyptian accent might be a little harder for a foreigner to learn compared to lebanese/levantine accents
Thank you so much!!
Yes, one thing I’ve noticed every region has a different dialect but eventually they understand!!🙏
@@asmalaysi9687Plus Lebanese is usually spoken relatively slower compared to some other dialects so that helps also ✌
@@mr.m5393 Good observation 👍
@@mr.m5393 mmm no lebanese is just as popular as egyptian in gulf and most Arab countries I understand that there might be some difficulties in specific regions like tunisia because they have a very different vocabulary than the rest of arabs but the truth should be told lebanese is understandable in most countries and its popularity has been on the rise especially with their TV series and many celebrities
Hello from Tunisia ...Nice vaccation.
Hello Tunisia!!

When you asked the artisan which plate to choose, he said take the 2nd one because it's more shiny ✨
Your best vlog ever! It was fascinating to watch. Tunisia is an incredible place to vlog like this, and believe it or not, many of their ancestors are actually Lebanese (Phoenicians).
Thank you so much for your support!
Indeed, I’m blown away by how amazing Tunisia is!!
Woow, I didn’t know that, thank you for this info!!🙏
you are talking nonsense, the Tunisians are pure North African, the Phoenicians with Queen Elyssa fled the tyranny and the wars following ancient Lebanon, they were welcomed in Tunisia by the king of the time a Berber and they founded an empire the Punics are a mix between North Africans from Tunisia and Phoenicians from Lebanon the Lebanese are not our ancestors the greatest history of Lebanon is with the Carthaginians
not ancestors just the queen elyssa fleed from her brother and come to tunisia with her close followers and welcomed from the king of AFRICA (the name of old tunisia) and gave her a land as a gift after decades this place named carthage and after the carthaginian empire are begging with the north african people with a phonecian influence that mix of cultre make a great power the chartaginian empire is unique we have nothing with lebanese no contact in that time . the true phonecians in lebanon in all their history they don't make an empire like the great carthage that's proove there is no contact and allience with the phonecians our empire are much much greater we controle the mediterranian sea and we are the nightmare of rome. and i just correct u much love to the lebanese people
@@ZeFodao-qv5gy At that time, the Lebanese had their own civilization. They had nothing to do with Carthage. Only the Phoenicians, who came fleeing with the sister of the King of Phoenicia, were considered to be part of the Carthaginian civilization. They had great experience in shipbuilding and trade, and coexisted with the inhabitants of Africa (Tunisia). This mixture of cultures, after several years, produced a great civilization. It is called Carthage, an ancient Tunisian civilization that terrified Rome at that time. This is the point. At that time, Lebanon had another civilization and was not dominant in its region
That's far from being the truth .
We do share historical ties with Lebanon through Carthage. But genetically speaking ,there are almost 0 traces left by the Phoenicians on the Tunisian population. We're Mostly of Amazigh decent with influence from Arabs , southern European and sub-saharan African depending on the region .
Your Lebanese accent is so cute 😂😂❤❤❤❤ Mabelle did a great job and you are a fast learner!
Thank you so much!!
Kudos to her!!❤️
@@worldnomacI wish i can find an authentic Tunisian restaurant in Lebanon serving Tunisian couscous and dishes with fresh ingredients shipped directly from Tunis . an A class clean restaurant with affordable prices.
Great videos and thanks for sharing, if you could be a bit mindful when and where you should negotiate to get a bargain.
You won’t think twice when paying 5 USD for a coffee in Starbucks, the same amount is a days wage for some of the locals.

I am Tunisian. The taxi fare from the airport to La Marsa is expensive, and some gifts are priced double. There are many other places to visit. It might be better to ask for recommendations from people on Instagram and TikTok.
My goodness Mac yours and Harry's Arabic is really good. Your fiancé is an excellent teacher💙✌
Thank you so much!!🙌
Credit to her, She’s an incredible teacher!!❤️
Mac your Arabic is excellent brother mashallah 🤩
Thank you so much brother!!❤️
As a Tunisian, I discovered two things thanks to this video: 1) There are a lot more scammers than I thought. 2) Older people don't seem to understand Eastern Arabic dialects.
The scammers are every where , I got scammed in Barcelona , Spain near the police car , and when I go to talk with the policeman , he said that I need to be careful more next time , and he did nothing more than that 😅
You are not tunisian 🇹🇳
You are a liar , where have you seen scammers ? You are a dirty algerian 🇹🇳🇹🇳🇹🇳
I'm more concerned about English , since it seems to me that a lot of us , especially the younger generation , do speak English .
