Tunisia Is the One! 🇹🇳

- Today we're in El Kef, a little hilltop city up in Northwest Tunisia.
We kicked things off in Kef medina where we met some lovely people and explored some of the many ancient roman ruins of Tunisia.
Next we set off to climb the El Kef city walls but on the way ran into a lovely family who offered to cook us the famous dish of the region, we agreed to come back 3 hours later then off we went.
Finally we made it up the city walls and had an incredible view over the whole city and surrounding landscapes, on the way down we stopped at a little tea shop and had a good old Tunisian boga with the lads!
Now it was time to head back to our new friends restaurant to try the traditional Tunisian borzguene, a couscous dish cooked with lamb and loaded with nuts and dates, this thing was bloody delicious. After we ate our friends made us some arabic coffee with rose water then we had a little dance in the old streets.
We ended the day with a little 1 star hotel tour, this place was genuinely fantastic.

@@EllisWR I am living in Turkey and I learning my country thru people like you....soon re-settling in Tunisia with my Turkish wife and we will turn it inch by inch especially the west and the North west
Another beautiful video about Tunisia and as for the ruins, they are Carthaginian because the construction method and the baths are known to be Carthaginian and are found in almost all Tunisian cities, even the symbols on the ruins are Carthaginian and maybe after the fall of Carthage it became affiliated with Rome but it remains Carthaginian. In fact, there are no radiocarbon studies of the ruins and historical sites in Tunisia and everything is automatically attributed to Rome without verification. Even if there is a Roman inscription, this does not mean that the city was founded during the Roman era, but rather it was founded during the Carthaginian era and the inscription was added later after the fall of Carthage. History mentions that Rome founded one city in Tunisia and it is in the middle of Tunisia, while the rest of the cities existed before and their inhabitants continued to live in them. This jar is used to store and cool water, or to store oil or anything else. It is Carthaginian. You can go to the Bardo Museum and see for yourself because there are many like it in the museums of Tunisia. I even have one that is much bigger than it that I inherited from my ancestors.. As for coffee, it is Tunisian. Only Tunisians put rose water or orange blossom water in their coffee.
Thanks so much for all the information we appreciate it!!
I confirm
As a Tunisian these videos are actually so adorable and amazing to see new places that i've never been to
I really appreciate that! Hope you enjoy the rest!!

If you still in Tunisia, Zaghouan is a good choice too, beautiful combination of countryside and history, famous for the water temple and andalousian heritage
I've saved this city! Next time we will go!!
Defintely you won't regret it i'm pretty sure with zaghouan famous Mountain. and also historic places like famous Yoghurta table near el Kef and Dougga and bullaregia near Jandouaba.
My parents grew up in Kef and my mom kept telling me about the places you guys visited and how she used to run around those ruins. As a tourism majored student you helped me a lot with this video as I discovered new places I myself never seen before. Have a nice visit and stay safe ❤
It's a beautiful place full of super nice people. Thanks so much ❤️🙏
Thank you so much for showing us Tunisia better than Tunisians themselves see it. You guys are really awesome, you respect our differences and traditions, and you are honest and spontaneous. Wish u the best luck !
Really appreciate the kind words thanks so much 🇹🇳🙏
Been to Tunisia!Great place with fabulous food!
It's great isn't it! Glad you also enjoyed the visit! 🇹🇳
@EllisWR 50 DT is equal to 16$ ONLY how u say it's expencive dish 😅😅😅 for SOME tunisian locals yes it's expencive because their salary is very low. .. but 16 $ is even cheaper than a 1 normal pizza in USA 🇺🇸 I appreciate that these guys charged you fair and reasonable prices . They are honest people ..enjoy the tasty food . I'm watching from DUBAI I tasted lots of different food here but still tunisian food is the best.

its sad to read this
Now i get how you both want to get under the skin of a country rather than stick to the tourist traps! I hired a grand taxi with my mum and friends and visited the hill villages above Sousse .Saw hidden mosaics covered in sand of some long gone silted up port .Visited farms etc .Happy days-love the authenticity of people away from the touristy places.
Sounds incredible, yeah that's what it's all about! Meet lovely people doing that!

@@EllisWR that's interesting we saw a lot of youtubers going to the same places without knowing a clue about tunisian history, we regular tunisians apart from touristic business are very sensitive to this. Keep going
The family was very generous with you guys, maybe they deserved a tip!
I'm not tipping people we became friends with that's extremely rude. Money isn't the reason we do things for others.
Born and bred in Tunisia, I've never actually been to El Kef but I'm discovering it now through this video. Cheers, guys. Tell us a place in the UK you've not been to and I'll make you a video about it :D

We read about it before so we were over the moon we met Shakira and her lovely family!! Thanks so much for watching 🙏🇹🇳
I didn't know you are here in my town, I would show you more good places as well.

We loved it!!
I always like your vids your the best tour guy ever i wanted to meet you in iraqi kurdstan sulaimani but thank you❤❤
Maybe next time 🙏❤️
So authentic trip in the hidden gems of Tunisia and eating local food as well. Bravo and hope you enjoyed or still enjoying if you still there the country ❤
I recommend you Bizerte as well, as it's the northernmost city of Tunisia and Africa and it's not that touristic but it has the best beaches in the country especially now in this summer season it should be a good destination. After goin to Tabarka as it's closer to El Kef and a beautiful coastal city as well you can go from Tabarka to Bizerte if you want and you still there.
Enjoy!
Thanks so much! We really wanted to visit Bizerte also but couldn't find a hotel in our max budget of like 80 dinar!! :(next time 🇹🇳🙏

Merci pour les belles images de la tunisie

As a local from El Kef I really appreciate you doing this video, it is not a touristic destination and also not well taken care of but it is a hidden gem, I wouldve suggested visiting it in the winter tho, and there are a lot more places worth visiting inside and outside of the city here. Also if you try any other type of couscous dish you'll find that it is so different usually being spicy unlike Bourzgen. with that being said I hope you enjoyed your stay and the hospitality of our people ! You are always welcome here
