I have been a designer for the last 25 years and I have never done something like that connection with no nuts and bolts. In the engineering world it is always and will have a steel gusset plates, brackets, brace, tie rods, rings, nuts and bolts of all sorts of screws and nails. This is pure art, experience and dedication past on to generations upon generations probably thousand of years. I can imagine the amount of calculations on the angles of notches and semi rounded holes fitted together using ordinary tools and no CNC and computer and fit together up to one millimeter of error. These craftsmanship is a testimony of many years of experience which makes them easy and enjoyable to build. Excellent your work and passion is very much appreciated.

This thousands of years of doing this even boats in ancient times did same way. Because you can't relied on modern toolsets or school teach you this.

ha ha ha ! how the hell can they afford a pair of safety boots. or even they can they never like wearing them. I know them well. I am a Vietnamese Canadian and never want to wear them. Flip flop are good. When I work for a union- company I cut the boots short so that I did, have to tight the shoes laces. One time the foreman saw the shoes he didn't realized that I had cut them short ( they looked weird).He asked to find out the weirdness. I told him I cut them short. That 's it.
