I owned a VNL780 and I’m looking to buy a Mack Anthem , so I’ve been watching videos about them, and i saw videos where they’re making 10+ mpg, don’t know if it’s true. The engine really looks very simular to volvo d13 , but Volvos only makes approx 7+ mpg.
This is a good question, in this generation, you can choose between DD15, Volvo/Mack, Paccar, Cummins or International A26. For owner operators, in my point of view and if you are starting your own business, your best bet is Freightliner Cascadia with DD15 and a Manual transmission. Why? Because you can repair it pretty much everywhere around the US. Cummins will be my second choice because many technicians know the engine well for years, repairs might take awhile though, the third choice would be Mack/Volvo because Volvo chassis is really comfortable and feels like a car when those trucks are new. Last both Paccar and International A26 the problem with those engines are hard to get parts and not many technicians know about them. This is just my personal opinion and I hope this help you. Thanks for watching.
Are you writing about the power cut-off switch under the cab? I know this truck has one switch relate it to the battery in the dashboard area, but I used and it does not work.
@@LetstalkDIESEL i want to hookup a light bar to my moose guard and want to use the batter option switch or the one with the key symbol on it .but I was wondering where the pig tails are under the tuck chases or on the engine are located
That is really hard to tell since we do not use it around our shop. But, it could be around the firewall or close to the fairing. You could ask directly to dealership if you have to go buy parts. Usually, it must be 2 wires pigtails and not yellow or green colors. I hope that helps and thanks for watching.
Is it worth it to buy a Mack truck or should you just buy a Volvo truck since the Mac has the Volvo engine in it and it’s harder to work on a Mack truck since it has a shorter hood.
In my personal opinion, Volvo Trucks are better than Mack because they feel more refined, comfortable and has more technology than other manufacturers. For repairs, yes Volvo has more space than Mack because the chassis is longer. So, in few words, if you already did your homework about other manufacturers and what you like about Volvo Trucks. Freightliner (my first choice in my personal opinion) and Volvo are a good way to go and start a business. Thanks for watching and the support.
Volvo has the nicer interior and ride. But if I’m not mistaken you can upgrade the Mack to have the same suspension. It depends if the better looks of the Mack are more important to you than the interior.
So brother you think I should buy Volvo 780 d13 or Mack MP8 they are both 2018 Mack have 450k miles and Volvo have 500k miles ok so Mack have warranty until 600k miles and Volvo doesn’t have warranty. Please reply as you can.
This is a good question, both trucks are made from the same manufacture, so from the perspective of warranty Mack seems to be a better deal. In general, Mack and Volvo share couple things, like oil changes are similar for both, ATS is the same for both and other little things. Your choice will depend if you like Mack or Volvo chassis. I hope this help you to decide. Thanks for watching and support the channel.
@@LetstalkDIESEL thanks man I was waiting for ur reply I love Volvos but Mack it’s a better deal like you said. So I’m gonna go with Mack for sure. Thanks again.

I believe those are the same, but I have not remove the engine head cover yet to confirm. Usually, they update the parts and sometimes just by a bit, they might look the same but they will not fit in newest models. However, I will update around here to let you know, by the way, good question.

You came here only to hate, any good point here what so ever?? Cos its so shit I just hear haha :D Small engine.. compare to 475 this 450 is so small, the fuk xD Hater of Mack and Lover of Volvo? You even know volvo bought Mack just to get those parts they didnt want to make from scratch, so they can take it from Mack that spend good time to make them from nothing thx to engineeres. And here is hater with not a single good point. How can this truck even drive.. I dont know You expert.
Also you know the person who bught the truck picks it with those specifications. So go hate Mack for small engine, not the person who bought it for ,better price, Goodos.
I do not hate the truck or the people who buy this kind of trucks and my apologies if I sound like that, it just I do not understand why Mack even bother to paint the engine red (that looks like Cummins by the way) Volvo and Mack nowadays share the same engine and even the same kind of transmission (even with different specifications or manual transmission). But Mack Anthem in general has their good points, like Classic design, of course I like the bulldog ornament in the hood and other little things that make Mack different than Volvo. At the end of the day, every driver has different taste for the trucks. This is my humble opinion and thanks for watching the video.
Very good engine mine is 2013 with d13 and 820,000 miles no problems runs strong 💪 and love the ishift

Overall for maintenance and reliability would you recommend a Volvo/Mack or Cummins? What about International's A26?

Question, the break engine is bloque or válvula??? Wat is.
Hey the intake throttle valve is made by the same company that builds the wiper transmission
