Loving your reactions! It's always interesting seeing how people who aren't familiar with the anime/manga view the show. The show does such a great job of capturing the spirit of the characters from the source material.
No spoilers: just context and extra information that was condensed down for live action. The exact weakness of the Devil Fruits is never fully explained in the series, but the creator has stated that 'the ocean' is any container that holds water. It seems like the closer the container is to the actual ocean, the stronger its power: Devil Fruit users are shown taking baths regularly with no ill effects, but salt water and large natural containers like lakes or rivers drain their power slowly, while the actual ocean drains it the fastest. the ocean stops Devil Fruit eaters from *activating* their powers, but Luffy never activates his ability: he just IS made of rubber now, so he is still stretchy underwater, but the real danger of the ocean is that it drains a Devil Fruit eater's strength, making them weak and lethargic. Also, in the original series, Shanks is actually swimming in the ocean with Luffy when he scares the sea beast off, so it's 100% confirmed not to be a devil fruit. They made it weirdly dramatic in this, but its original iteration makes it pretty clear that it's just sheer intimidation factor. Shanks is actually just SO strong that the sea beast recognized how dangerous he is and decided to leave instead of fight.

It is amazing to see new people reacting to one piece it is really amazing storytelling I'm an anime watcher and one piece is one of my favorites all I can say to you is that Buggy is my favorite Clown He is so well written and he is the only clown that makes me laugh and think and cry Capitan BUGGY!
Not a fan of clowns and you're afraid of sharks and the sort... this really wasn't the episode for you, was it? 😄The live action definitely plays up the creepy factor for the series resident clown character so far, but you'll be happy to know that he does what clowns do best as the series continues: be the constant joke you need him to be. xD
I loved this show. I'm around episode 800 in the anime. The only thing I didn't like is they made it seem like sea water is kryptonite. I don't ever remember sea water (unless he fall in the ocean) being used against luffy.
Just wanted to tell you, there's only 2 devil fruit user for this season, Luffy and Buggy... anyone else is just physically strong and fast... and there are some people who just have just have unexplained power for now
There are three types of people when it comes to Buggy: 1. Scary Clown. 🥺 2. Buggy! He's hilarious. Great character. 3. 10/10. Would boink the clown. 🥵 I am 2 of these 😅
