There is a live piano version from the Exciter tour 2001 (one night in Paris) . Definitely worth a listen. The lyrics shines through even stronger 👍😄
Every song on this is a experiment and shaped the soundscape for the next 4 albums. A very important record for them
I’ve listened to them, since I was a boy in the 80’s. They’ve come a long way. One of my best bands of all time.
This really hypes me up for the upcoming albums. Everyone has been saying that they only get better from here on out :D

@@SephPlays so Music for the Masses will be next. On that album my favorite’s are Strangelove, Never Let me Down Again, Behind the Wheel, Sacred…almost every track was played on alternative radio stations. Heavy rotation. Violator, every track was a masterpiece within itself. Songs of Faith & Devotion had I Feel You, Walking In My Shoes, One Caress, In Your Room, and Higher Love.
Ultra is another masterpiece! I listen to the album to this day front to back! Violator and Ultra you will truly want to hear front to back, or start to finish.
IMO this song has some of the best harmonies DM ever did, EVER. SO good.
This song will completely sweep you away after the 4-5th listen. Shall we make a bet? 😁
I've listened to it twice now once for the video and once on my own. the next time i listen to it will be a live version here on the channel :D maybe 101?
@@SephPlays I recommend the live version of "it doesn't matter two" by One Night in Paris, as well as the fantastic cover of Libra and Special Guests' "It Doesn't Matter Two (Lockdown Version)", which shows the power of this song at its best.

I think Alan has said this one was influenced by Philip Glass. I love the modulation when Martin sings "and though it feels good now, I know it's only for now..."

Definitely quirky.... I think you would appreciate this song more listening to the album as a whole and in order. The way they put the songs together is a literal work of art.

i love (the 80's and early 90s) Depeche Mode too and i like pretty much everything from that time (ngl im an Alan Wilder Fanboy. Come on and hate me folks, i don't care :p ), but it's completely okay if someone doesen't like EVERYTHING. It's normal. Everyone has a different taste and People should accept it. It's way better than to just pretend that you like a track. I really like your reactions, keep going. (Sorry for my bad english, im from germany.. aka Depeche Mode's second home haha). Greetings.

I have LOVED all the songs i have heard from DM so far. Some of them werent as great as others. But i still havent heard a song i truly HATE yet. Which is pretty insane if you think about it haha
Imagine how hard is to make those sounds and master such songs in the eighties... 🤷♂️

I don"t know why, but I always thought that this is a song about being cheating the one you are with with someone you cannot resist, but also cannot have. Never heard the really story behind the song, but I hear it that way.
Martin Gore said in the 1986-02-22 issue of No.1 magazine:
"'It Doesn't Matter Two' is very desperate. Very very morbid."
Short and sweet - like a vocal interlude.

Alan Wilder (Recoil), ex dm master mind behind their sound and atmosphere, used the same ha ha ha sound în this song.
This is one where you needed to analyze the lyrics. All 3 of the Martin songs were kind of connected! All basically about the same thing. AQoL being the best of the 3. And you were Spot on regarding the initial sounds. It was Martin's voice that was being sampled! "As I lay here with you. The shame lies with us. We talk of love and trust. That doesn't matter! Though we may be the last in the world. We feel like pioneers, telling hopes and fears to one another! And Oh what a feeling inside of me. It might last for an hour. Wounds arent healing inside of me. And though it feels good now. I know it's only for now!"

Me, I really love this song.... except I don't. The lyrics, melody, and Martin's voice are wonderful but the instrumental/musical choice they made grates on me.
