I test drove the CX70 Turbo S Premium Plus and the new CX50 Hybrid last week. I currently own a 2021 CX5 (my third) and am looking to replace it. The CX50 was sporty but small like the CX5. The CX70 was a dream to drive. I don't want or need a 3-row SUV. So the huge cargo space, under deck storage and spare tire were big pluses. The leather upholstery, Bose sound system, quietness of the interior are very luxurious. I would like a little better MPG in this hybrid to match the Toyota Grand Highlander, but the Highlander doesn't match the luxurious interior of the Mazda. My other option is the Honda Pilot Elite. Hmmm...
Congratulations you now have 100k subscribers more work let's get to 200k. I think Mazda is building beautiful cars now they'll take some Toyota and Honda fans. They just have to keep pushing. I like this CX70
I may get crucified for my opinion and view regarding this car since Mazda is targeting the premium market, But i would've loved if this car had even more of a competitive pricing with RWD option and the 2.5L Turbo variant for those who want a less complicated vehicle but want to experience luxury at a more affordable price point. What would your take be on this?
They sort of offer what you are describing, that would be the detuned base inline 6 with 280 hp 332 torque. Which is pretty much the same power as the turbo 4 which made 250 hp and 320 torque with premium fuel. So there's not much point in offering a 4 cylinder with the same power while sounding worse besides any less power in this big heavy vehicle it's just going to bog down lol. Offering a pure rwd model now that would be cool! Could probably clean up some of the driving flaws but they will probably never offer that.
@@MeynMotorGroup The primary reason for wanting a 4 banger in these would be an option without the complicated mild hybrid system in addition to having a significantly more basic engine that is way easier to maintain, such as doing timing chains. And i think the 4 banger is way lighter. This is just my view, hence why i am not a Mazda engineer, haha.
@@zhila5958 yea I think Mazda designed this just to be a lease and dump like most modern cars none of these corps are interested in making something that lasts 20 years those days are long gone 😂
You mention the transmission jerkiness at low speeds and I wonder - Knowing the Japanese as notorious for their attention to detail and search for perfection, how can such a well rounded important vehicle for Mazda can be released on the market with such a glaring defect. Is this a design or manufacturing issue?
I'm not against a CPO Cayenne but I recommend to most families to just buy new with a discount for better interest rates, cheap lease programs, peace of mind, etc.
Unless you're willing to spend that money, a used Cayenne is going to be more expensive to find used with the features you want, not to mention the cost of premium gas which would be required instead of recommended like it is with the CX-70, as well as a higher cost of ownership in terms of insurance, parts, routine maintenance or service, & the cost to repair or replace want electric or electronic failures

Thank you my friend and yes despite some compromises, I do really like these inline-6 CX-70s and CX-90s thank you for dropping by!

@@MeynMotorGroup fair enough. Gone the days of 200,000 mile engines not consuming a drop of oil.
Woot!
Fyi your auto companion link does not show mazda as an option in their inquiry form.
@@danfischer0329 no worries just choose Honda or any manufacturer and just type in the model of the Mazda you are interested in their team will know

It’s the lack of torque converter and 48v battery… same as Mercedes’ I6 with 9 speed transmission, the first gear change is jerky
I think the most surprising thing is how this 2025 CX-70 is one year newer and feels a bit more jerky than the CX-90s I've tried.
This or used Cayenne?

It's such a good looking thing, but it's a real shame that the cons are as much of a con as they are as usually Mazda are better than this.
Yea it's super sad considering their entry level vehicles which are half the price perform flawlessly
