Manzanita CRA Sprint car flips into the flagstand 11-9-90

Mike Peters and John Redican would get together on the first lap of the B Main during the 1990 CRA Western World at Manzanita Speedway.
Peters would get up into the flagstand.
No one suffered and serious injuries. November 9th 1990.

I grew up at this track, it’s so depressing that it’s gone. Windy McDonald is in my opinion the best announcer in racing

I used to go every Friday night with my Boss Jeffry Ehlers back in the late 80's. He wasn't racing anymore but knew a lot about the sprints. I was bummed when I heard the track got demo'd.

I remember that night. 8 years old, grew up at that track with Westbay, Carver's, and Madrid's.

I was there, a very scary moment. I thought the flag man was really hurt at the time. I was very happy to learn he was OK. I loved how the 2nd flagman was able to get the red out in spite of almost having a sprint car for dinner. Always enjoyed Windy also.

I think John Reddican came out the worst of everyone involved as I recall. This happened right in front of me and I was terrified for the flagmen.
