I learned there are only 3 sources of conflicting views: 1. different data 2. different interpretation of those data 3. different goals If you find yourself in a deadlocked argument with someone, I find it useful to bring up these three points and go through them one at a time. In my professional career, I found point #3 was (more often than not) the true source of the argument.
Luckily, that's the case only in the proto-fascist state of the Disunited States of America. We're still clinging onto civilisation here in Europe, but its getting tougher to do so.
Didn't guess that those would be the words, but from my perspective, your perspective on this is quite convincing. Except, of course... that "that's your perspective" is obviously *four* words, not three. 😛
A different perspective would not be reliant on the use of a cliché, in fact many would see those three words as an admission of a failure to persuade.
During an argument, my friend said to me "Let's agree to disagree". I said, "I'm not going to agree to that." Another good line you can use during an argument (and apparently this works), you say to the person "you are fake news" "you are a disgusting person" "you eat dogs, cats, geese". Or you could call them a childless cat lady who has no business even having an opinion. AND if all else fails, say to them "Nobody likes you". OR, you can say to them, "you know what I think of your opinion? and then fart as loud as you can and say "That's what I think". FYI If you are unable to fart, put your hand under your armpit to make the fart sound.
@@scruffyuncle- Not just his; you don't win any argument simply by acknowledging that a person has a different perspective. And, yes, that's my perspective, but you don't effectively counter it simply by saying that's my perspective. The strength or weakness of any opinion isn't measured simply by the fact that it's an opinion. "Win ANY argument with these 3 words!" - utter crap.
This is all very well for arguments about which there are no real-world consequences, but sometimes agreeing to disagree is just a cop-out. Three are times when you have to stand your ground. "For evil to persist, it is enough that good men and women do nothing."
this is bad advice. the proper response for those three words is simply, "the whole point of my argument, using facts and good reasoning, and so on, is that it's not at all based on opinions and perspectives!" those three words are an admission you've lost.
That's your perppective is a relativist argument, it is similar to that's your opinion, or that's your truth and relativism holds no water, interesting video tho.
The three words are : "Thats your perspective" 3:06 You're welcome
Thanks and "That's your perspective" is actually 4 words.

Clickbaiters are the worst!
Just goes to show there's a lot more to thinking than arguing.
The three words that always end an argument with an employee: "You are fired."
Works like a charm every time. 😂
Not in every country, luckily

How is this a win? Define win, and then explain why this is a win.

"that's your perspective" does not win ANY argument, it only stops the debate. "I'm out" would do the same.
so what are these three words?
Yep. That’s your perspective.
A different perspective would not be reliant on the use of a cliché, in fact many would see those three words as an admission of a failure to persuade.
"Many would see X as..." Yes. That would be their perspective.
Are they, 'You're an idiot'? (PS, joke)

Thanks, that's really great adive! Seems to work quite well.
Thanks!
What an anticlimax!
that's your perspective.
I hate me too.
What a load of rubbish!
That's your perspective

I absolutely disagree. Anyway, it's not worth debating. That's your perspective.
