  • Got the Comet 94C in. unfortunately, since i expected to be getting a 780, the belt that i have is too thin, and ill have to get a wider belt for optimal performance.

    Great video man! What belt did you end up using for that setup? Do you by chance have a part number? Thanks.

    I am just starting a club car build. Had a thought about your clutch issue. If you pull the clutch out on the motor shaft about 3/16 inches would that compensate for the clutch pulling the belt to far in? Or, what about a belt 1/4 inch wider?

    How did you end up doing your linkage for your gas pedal? I'm trying to figure mine out right now

    Were you running another clutch prior to this? How much did you have to cut the crankshaft down? I only wish I was swapping in a big block, I'm doing a gx270 swap.

    Looks like a nice build so far but that belt looks a bit odd looks like it's on upside down but does it matter video is over 5 years old I am working on a electric to gas conversion going to be using the predator 212 with three stage Performance Kit and the 22 or 23 mm slide carburetor

    • @DWinnie67

      the belt is not upside down, designed that way.

    Comet 40 would do better on that size motor. Your torque converter is for the rpm a 2 stroke makes like somewhere around 7500rpm were the motor you are running only pushes 4500rpm so the converter is only scratching the top surface of the rpm power. Get a comet 40 where it will be good for the size of motor you have as well as the rpm range.

    Not trying to be that guy but your belt is inside out, also are you using the forward for reverse and vice versa, I noticed that engine turns opposite of the original Kawasaki flat head, and lastly your rear clutch is not backwards, that's how mine came from the factory

    What are the differences between the comet 94c and 780 clutches? Will the 780 take a wider belt? Don't know which one I should buy!? Thanks!

    • @TheAssassin111
      @TheAssassin111  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can get 780's with the stock belt size, or wider 1 3/16 size. I would definately reccomend the 780 over the 94C. Mine, after a year has almost completely worn out. I have to basically redline the engine now to get the clutch to engage at all. The 94C was originally designed for high revving snowmobile engines anyways. The 780 will engage smoother, and due to its design it is a much better match to a golf cart drivetrain.

    Is urs stock? And what'd you do about forward n reverse since cc are backwards? Also what'd you do for ur air filter off ur carb

    • @TheAssassin111
      @TheAssassin111  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      So far, its all stock. This year of Club Car is set up for a CCW Rotation engine, so the gear ratios werent affected. I cut the stud off of the stock intake, and put a shorter K&N filter on it. You should check out my latest update on the Club Car to get a good understanding of my current setup.

      Thanks. I have the engine RPM's limited at 4000 (Max is 5000). It goes 20MPH flat at this engine speed. However, all will depend on what kind of clutches you use, belt size, tire size, and differential ratio. Some guy on the forums put one of these in his Yamaha golf cart, and got it up to 33MPH with 22" tires.

      Only club cars have forward or reverse all others spin the motor backwards

  • @1drayden99
    @1drayden99 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Do you have to run the cart in reverse to go forward?

    • @TheAssassin111
      @TheAssassin111  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This engine rotates the same way that the old one did, so the FNR transmission functions remained the same. I used the stock club car fuel pump, and hooked the vaccum line into the Valve cover vent hose.

    • @1drayden99
      @1drayden99 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You must have a 96 or older club car. Mine is a 1999 and the motor on it ran clockwise on the passenger side of cart. The new motor runs counter clockwise. Therefore I have to run the cart in reverse to go forward, which cuts down on your speed. I will have to put high speed gears in it to make it run as fast as it did with the stock engine. Thanks for your info. Jkm

      James Kile for some reason I can't read your full comment, but just picked up a 97 abs quickly noticed mine runs clockwise how is yours using forward as reverse and reverse as forward

      Now that i have remved the governor, 5200RPM max. I dont like to push it over 5000RPM with the stock valve springs though.

    • @TheAssassin111
      @TheAssassin111  10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I could have, but the crank shaft would have needed to be cut and tapered. The stock clutch isnt rated for high RPM levels either.

  • @TheLonesometoad

    Your drive belt is way too long. It will make your engagement late and at a higher RPM and will reduce your top end.
