Having Watched The Keeper numbers of times, what you have to say is what a soldier literally having suffered a broken neck. Then dealing with torrents of abuse at the beginning of his footballing days and then the crowd coming to respect him as they realised that he was just a man who wanted to play football and live a humble future. YNWA. What a truly amazing player. Ending at the Keeper really was emotional to watch 😢
@@christopher-ke9nj I don't mean his background, I mean his resilience to all the abuse and injuries that he sustained. I am not saying he was perfect but he tried to put the past of conflict behind him by just wanting to play football. If you disagree with my comment, then I respect that

lets put some perspective on this, if he had a broken neck, he wouldnt be able to move it. he clearly is in this footage, so it BS he had a broken neck
Mac2point1 After the game, Trautmann attended an evening's post-match banquet despite being unable to move his head, and went to bed expecting the injury to heal with rest. As the pain did not recede, the following day he went to St George's hospital, where he was told he merely had a crick in his neck which would go away. Three days later, he got a second opinion from a doctor at Manchester Royal infirmary. An X-ray revealed he had dislocated five vertebrae, the second of which was cracked in two. The third vertebra had wedged against the second, preventing further damage which could have cost Trautmann his life.
Mac2point1 ...you’re not an expert, in fact you’re more of an idiot. My 17 yr old nephew broke his neck diving into a river. He came out of the river feeling ok, except for a slight headache and a graze on his scalp. He continued to play with his brothers for a few hours, and his headache got worse. We drove home, had dinner, and the next day took him to the hospital where the severity of his broken neck was revealed. They cut a sizeable piece of bone from his hip, and fused it to the broken vertebrae. It’s ok not to know what you’ve talking about, less ok to state something so categorically when you have no idea.
My favourite City player ever! Absolute LEGEND!

Depends where he broke it to be honest, and a broken neck doesn't necessarily mean that he cant move. But he was a true legend for doing I it
