There is a semi-common trope in mmorpg game web novels where the tutorial/starting weapon is actually mega OP in terms of damage or something, but breaks in a few use which gets used up in the tutorial. And the MC through some glitch or workaround preserve it to use against a boss. Never the final boss, but a zone boss or something to get ahead of other players.

I think she learned from all of them not that she had to learn anything about the techniques of cooking but more she realized because of them what cooking is really about and she got very inspired by somas dishes because they were the first one who made her question
@@zolozoro58 Learning how to cook is literally copying from someone else. Soma techniques are mostly from his dad, he gets ideas from the people he met and that is a wonderful thing. And sure she "steals" a lot from soma but she recreates a new dish from that and that's her creativity and skills that made it her own. Somehing she's never done before. But also a dish no one ELSE has ever done before. Could anyone else have done that? No. Not even Soma I think because that's just not his style. Also she had to make it work with the entrance dish. Honestly that alone deserve some respect because soma made it deliberately hard for her because he wanted to challenge her and he was satisfied to see her main dish really was a main dish that was better than his.
And I really liked that she included things from the Soma's first dish and his best worst dish because it made her doubt for the first time and question what's the reason if there even is reason to cook. Soma is that powerful. They both deserve the credits i don't know why you want to undermine someone here. And also the whole Polar Star dorm who continued to made her think for herself and challenge her. The all helped her to find her way of cooking. And there's nothing wrong with getting help and not do things alone. Like if you are only by yourself you will reach a point where you can't improve anymore, Erina was at that point, same with Soma who thought cooking with his dad in the diner was enough, or Shinomiya who needed Soma and Megumi to remind him of his goals.. i forgot what we talked about man i love this show
Also i guess Tsukada Yuto wanted to include something typical soma like in the final dish because of we love soma so much and he is the main character. It would be lame if Erina just made some fancy perfect dish (that's not really her cooking anymore). So he sprinkled some soma surprise in it. Also i think it's great storytelling to reference to dishes in the past. Oh and Isshiki also did something like when he was against that sword guy Saito and he included the cooking styles from the polar star dorm and even used what they made as ingredients! I just think it's neat to see different things come together but get recreated into a dish that only you could have done, you know? It takes skill to combine things together and make it even better.
Another thing sorry for spamming but i don't have other weeb friends to discuss it with so I'm being annoying here. Just ignore me.
I was just asking myself if erina used soma's peanutbutter squid as an essential ingredient that was missing to her dish or if she had that idea from the start and based her dish on that because it would be the ultimate 'fuck you' to her dad. Like Soma's worst cooking was the very opposite what her father taught her. And i know Erina can be quiet petty. It's pretty clever i must say. Like she directly told her dad with her dish that she isn't his tool anymore and that she is actively rebelling now talking back and refusing to listen to him, doesn't want to please her anymore, just wants to be her own person.
This show just makes you hungrier every time you watch it

Right off the bat, this should've been how the manga ended, because it is the most perfect way to resolve things. The rebels win, Erina uses the very thing we've described as 'disgusting' to win the match, and the very first opening plays. I can already tell that the final arc of the manga does not match this ungodly epicness.

For what's about to come in the future with the atrocity that BLUE is, this was a really good and nice episode to watch.
Blue had so much potential, but that bastard ruined what could have been the greatest arc ever.

What’s up with people doubting the godly combination of dried salty squid legs and peanut butter? I grew up eating lots of dried salty squids deep fried to a crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside delicacy, best enjoyed with a nutty and super runny white coconut curry filled with aubergine and green squash served with steamed rice. It is super delicious! I can totally imagine that dried squid legs can work well with peanut butter if you know how. Is it because the God Tongue a young girl? 🤨
