So sad that PML isn't the brand it used to be. I remember I would be so hyped for the new launches. Gone are the days of setting alarms so I could get the newest Mothership palette right when it drops. I think she is struggling considering she put out her last Mothership at 30% off at Launch! Unfortunately, I hate to say it, but Pat has on her own self to consider regarding recent sales struggles.. Why I say this is because Pat started her brand with the Mothership pallets… They were very expensive, but we were paying for it because of how unique her shadows were in comparison to the other brands.. That’s what we fell in love with .. Motherships one through five are all different and unique, her fans were purchasing all of them… So what happened? Pat came out with MOTHERSHIP DIVINE ROSE. The sales went through the roof with Divine Rose. DR was a Pallet thats more streamlined. The color story is safe for an artist. DR pinky shades was suited for more people there for more SALES. The pinks a very popular, and always will be when it comes to eyeshadows. Because of the HUGE success of Divine Rose thereafter, she has stuck with the pinks and the rusty earthy tone mattes over and over. I personally was a big fan I have Motherships one through nine. It killed me not to have purchased the last few because I wanted them for my collection …. However, they were just not worth it to me because they were so similar how much use what I really get? If you have Divine Rose 1 and Divine rose 2 her last two pallets she put out is a combination of those two. So, like I said, I do believe that sales are struggling because I don’t think Pat is putting in the creativity that she did when she first started her Brand . Pat needs to hopefully put out her next mothership completely different from the pinks and the rusty, coral reddish shades and I bet her Sales would explode ! It’s what we’re all waiting for and we just haven’t gotten in the last 3 years, sadly said.
I have one Mothership (Divine Rose), a quad, and one of those janky cardboard palettes with like 6 shades in it. They're all hit or miss shades for me. Some shades I absolutely ADORE. Some are too pigmented and refuse to blend. However, I do agree on the concealer; its BEAUTIFUL. I think a lot of us are missing 2016 when it comes to the excitement of new, quality products before the market became flooded.
Glad to see the old Pat McGraft products in action. I love all my Mothership palettes and was thinking about buying her last one "Sunlit Seduction". Also want to try her eye shadow primer and a couple colored mascaras during the sale. I really like the glamorous look you created!
You will love the Sunlit Seduction palette! The color story is stunning! The only setback is the lack of special shades. The crimson color is troublesome, but when applied with a finger, it works perfectly and that shade is stunning! I love my Sunlit Mothership!
Love the look! I love my whole PML collection! However, I don’t like the two mega palettes from this years holiday collection. But I do love the quints and face palettes! I love the stunning looks I get from her makeup! I only pray she hears the complaints of her fans and brings back what we love about her. She in my opinion is the GOAT!

They cut costs on quality and production. 😑 I said this since the Mothership X. It was the first one without baked shades. The Mothership XI didn't have them either, what they had was the worst quality than in any of her palettes AND it's sold cheaper where I live. It's not the usual 125-130 bucks. It's "only" 117 bucks. And then her recent holiday launch not being made in Italy just confirmed my thesis. She probably has some new investors or partners who look more into profit than innovation. It's really sad because she used to be a trailblazer in the makeup industry. I still want to get my hands on the first 3 Motherships because I only have V and VI and the cool toned holiday quintet of last year, but that's it when it comes to palettes. I'm not willing to pay luxury prices for mediocre (when it compares to her first launches) quality. 😢
Have you tried getting the first 3 mothership palettes off a trusted seller on eBay cheaper? At least in the UK on eBay they tend to go for competitive prices probs because there's not so much competition as we're a small island lol
I would only urge you to be careful, when buying those first motherships and advise you to buy it from a good seller from EBay, that sells specifically the ones produced before her selling out, because she actually reformulated them too opting for a cheaper formula (without letting her customers know, btw) and they do not perform and look the same at all! I’ve got the very first mothership, and my colleague ordered it during recent Black Friday sale and was so disappointed, because she didn’t want the newer “pinkish” ones which even don’t have the last four Blitz Astral shadows and she wanted specifically the first one. We put mine and hers side by side - they don’t swatch the same, it’s like Pat duped herself in the cheapest way. I mean, for those who were not familiar with the quality she put out before her sell out it could seem a “normal” palette, but if you compare it to the ones produced earlier you will understand, that it’s not even worth it even with those discounts. So, please, be careful ❤

Great look. Too bad her eyeshadows have gone down in quality. She let another company buy in. When that happens, the quality suffers, since it becomes, more and more, money over artistry.
Do people believe Ms. McGrath started this company with her own money or has ever made all of the decisions? It's always been a company and not a personal project. She's worked at huge cosmetics and fashion companies, and I wouldn't be surprised if this expansion was always part of the plan. Fashion house makeup exists for this very reason. Get a hardcore base who will pay high prices for the quality and the name then make less expensive products to bring in the masses because that's where the real money and longevity is. How many Tom Ford Beauty users buy Tom Ford shoes? Very few. But they coexist under the same name, and the people buy from whichever brand they choose. I hope the company realizes that their initial users are feeling betrayed and trying to undermine them by word of mouth and throws a few bones with some all baked and astral blue and green motherships. I guess that's what the holiday kits were supposed to do, but it's not enough yet.
Mothership III is my favorite also. I feel it's the most unique out of all the Mothrships. I wish she would've gave us something like Mothership III instead of that last pink Mothership. It would've put her back on the map.
I actually have purchased a few back ups in different shades of her foundation, solely because of how it feels on the skin. I have other foundations that I like the look of better, but none are even close to as comfortable as the PMG one. If I need to put on foundation but really am not in the mood to feel like I have any on, especially when I’m going to be out in the heat and humidity, PMG is tried and true
I love that most concealer brushes are “finger shaped,” which Pat did first. Regardless of brand, we are all using mama pats finger to blend our concealer. So while I don’t buy her makeup anymore, really. But must give her, her flowers there.
Her products used to be interesting. Then she started making everything pink or rosy. I don't mind finding her stuff in TJ Maxx for $30. I bought three palettes there this year.

That’s seriously the best place to get a lot of makeup.. that’s also where I’ve gotten every mothership palette;) And for 40$-70$, no more than that. Love eBay:)
I just wanted to say that I LOVE PMG LIQUID LIPSTICKS !! 🫶🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🙌🥰❤️ I worked in a NYC hospital during Covid & I wore a mask for hours on end … let me tell you all that all I wore under my mask were the PMG liquid lipsticks ! They did not budge, smudge or dry out my lips !!! The shades are stunning & paired with her lip liners they are perfect & long lasting ! Im obsessed with ALL her highlighters & I own them all; her lipsticks are great, blushes & bronzers & lip glosses are great ! Her foundation & concealer though not so great for me 🤷🏻♀️ other things I’ve loved her pot shadows released in SW collection so good & her liquid shadows are so good too ! ❤ one day I hope her brand can turn around & be like it was in the past 😊

I LoVe the Pat McGrath bronzer and the undereye powder. I’m a huge fan. LoVe her eyeshadows. I haven’t had good luck with the holiday eyeshadow palettes but I’m prrrobably going to pick up the 3pan face palette
Me, too! It’s so versatile IMO. I’ll never forget opening it-my first real expensive makeup purchase and it was worth every penny for that one. I just picked up Mothership I in this sale after wanting it for years now.

I do like a few Pat products but I have only the permanent classics. I have the mothership I, a blush in electric bloom, one of the Bridgerton blush and highlight trio palettes which I like. I had and used up the concealer and undereye powder, both ok but not really something I want to repurchase, especially as there are so much better new concealers these days that I want to try. I prefer the Huda loose powder for under eye thoughts, its also better value for money.
These are my favourite kind of videos from you Morgan, when you use all your favourite things from favourite brands and old favourites - not necessarily the new reviews (though I do like those as well, I just really enjoy when you get all your favourite PML/charlotte tilbury etc stuff).
I like the tarte shape tape but as a 30+ year old I find it highlights my fine lines & creases. I do like Estée Lauder's double wear concealer though I highly recommend that

I'm upset that they don't sell singles anymore. Divine Mink is the best eyeshadow shade of all time (fight me on this lol). I don't want to buy an entire mothership palette for this one shade even if i do love the mothership that it comes in
I’ve been wanting to check out the earliest Mothership palettes. I have the Divine Rose palettes, and I didn’t love them as much as I thought I would. But I do love her lip products and highlighters and did purchase 2 of the five pan holiday eyeshadow palettes and am trying those out now. 👍

I wouldn’t recommend the Merit pot shadows. I was aware that they needed to click when closing to prevent the product from drying out. Despite that there have been several times I haven’t closed them all the (I thought I did) and the shadow has dried out A LOT. I would not recommend
I purchased the Bronze Seduction palette a little over two years ago, and that was the last time I bought anything from her. Nothing she comes out with wows me anymore 😢
When you start to see a once desirable pricey makeup brand show up in TJ maxx along side with duds like Revultion and Jacyln...you know something is up.
I picked up a couple of PML eyeshadow singles when I saw them at Marshall's, but they still weren't cheap. Dark shimmer shades; purple and taupe. Lots of fallout, a mess! Curiosity satisfied... saw a blush single at TJMaxx today, it looked too orangey for me. I wonder if her products' appearance at discount stores is the death knell.
PM needs to start charging on all her deliveries. She's almost the only highend brand who doesn’t charge a premium on delivery. She'll be surprised how much that would generate. Her quality still trumps ND, so I'm still rocking with her when I love her colors.

I just buy my repurchases from Pat at this point from her sales. Need to re up on lipgloss, that pressed powder, mascara and lip liner. I’ve already built a mothership collection. (Im missing midnight sun and sunlit seduction…. I missed decadence) I think I’m just gonna get the quints on sale. Nothing else excites me. Such a shame. 4/5 years ago I would lust after her brand when I was in high school. Such a shame she’s let the brand go to waste. I am now building my Natasha denona collection. At least she puts out different palettes each time.
I feel like if pat released her foundation now, it would get so so so much support with the whole clean girl aesthetic going on. ultra love her lip glosses and the undereye powder too but I have to agree with Morgan that her branding and products these days kind of feel lackluster :( which is so sad because pmg was the epitome of luxury makeup for me years back and it's pretty sad how she kinda? fell under the radar? idk maybe it's just me but things have definitely changed :(
I feel the essence was their testing the water for skin care and I just don't think it did well enough. I adore the foundation and always restock in a sale.
Hey love, I enjoy your videos and thoughts on makeup, but today I have to agree and disagree. 1. PML👑 has now established a true core brand that will cement them as a legacy luxury brand if she chooses. I love the user friendly and pro approach without the over done colorful stories. 2. PML👑 make the Rose Essence (which in my opinion is better than the SAIE glow gel when accompanied with the primer, but SAIE is financially more sound for me😂). 3. For me, I enjoy that the staple foundation is a Satin finish because it’s still amazing when made matte or more dewey. Same great coverage, same amazing soft focus look, etc. 4. I definitely agree about the lipstick line, back to the drawing board 😢( however I enjoyed the liquid lips and the balms are cute and the glosses are slamming). Also, crème blushes , pressed bronzer / highlight are cute but a revamp is also needed, except the blur powder (absolute staple other then Kett pressed powder). 5. For the comments about the company financially struggling…. though I don’t know her financials and liquid cash or assets , it’s an evaluated billion dollar company… she aight. Don’t be fooled by the discounter store shame videos, over production happens all the time, sales happen all the time (especially if you own the the manufacturing). I do think she can stop producing all the previous eyeshadows and start over but, it will cost lol. 😂 6. Lastly, is PML👑 worth it, well it depends. Money spent on PML👑 is money well spent. I do agree that buying the same products I have at full price is illogical but for those who haven’t experienced it or want brand new unused product and can’t catch a sale.. then that’s how the cookie crumbles but yes the price points for the same core product that I’ve already invested time getting to know how it works for just a repurchase for a few shades is illogical 😂. Overall, I love the dialogue of your assessment and as you can see I love your videos/ channel and PML👑. Just wanted to add some thoughts from my side for the readers in the feed. Love you- Chaź❤
I have two mothership palettes (4 and 7); a holiday palette; and some quads. Frankly, I’ve never been impressed with her eyeshadows: I find them too hard-pressed and patchy, especially her dark mattes. Edited to say that of the “mainstream brands” (i.e., available at Sephora and Ulta), I find Natasha Denona’s eyeshadow palettes to be the best quality.
As a novice I do agree with the one & done re the astral shades in the mothership palettes compared to more nuanced looks that you can do with ND palettes albeit I'm learning & ND forces me to up my game. I purchased some Rephr brushes too as felt that I needed the best of the best to up my eye shadow application game 😊❤
I want to find the brightest , lightest, shiniest lid color with the greatest staying power from any brand. I love Mac Nylon and I love Loreal and Lancome silvers, but I'm so tired of silvers. I am a light medium complexion, blonde hair. I like the look of the Charlotte Tilbury quads, but I have to buy the right one if I'm going to spend that much. Same with the Mothership . Moonlit Seduction looks exactly like the colors I am looking for , but the response for that release has been kind of meh from everyone. Is Huetopian Dream still of top quality? A lot of these popular ones disappear on me. I have super oily skin, so I don't expect 12 hours, but 6 would be good. Then when I find that, I want to find the blackest eyeliner in the world.
This is my question too. I've seen some people purchase the original round-up of motherships and the packaging is cheaper, the pans look different. I wouldn't be surprised 🤷🏽♀️
I don’t think so friend ! I bought a fresh midnight sun (sticker gate 😅) & it seems like the same great formula ! I own A TON of her makeup; ALL motherships; quads; most 6 pans; 2 mega holiday palettes; all love collection 6 pans palettes; all her recent holiday quints etc; her shadows made in Italy are stellar & still are 😅❤

What stinks for me is I’m just now really falling in love with the big motherships. I have a mix of older ones and moonlit seduction. I just can’t buy more of the same from her over and over. So I suppose my collection is just gonna be on hold until there is something actually new. 😢

Wanted to try Pat and went to buy from their site on blackfriday and bought 5 mothership pallets and weeks later nothig. The haven even sent a tracking number.
I just bought Midnight Sun and I noticed the mattes are much creamier than my other motherships. I am curious if other people have experienced this. Maybe my other motherships have dried a little with age? But I don’t remember them mattes ever being this creamy and wonderful. Can anyone attest to this? I’m so confused, did I get duds with the other ones? Divine rose 1 I find to be the weakest in pigmentation too. Edit: I own mothership 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 9 and all of them feel dryer than 6

I’ve got the very first mothership, and my colleague ordered it during recent Black Friday sale and was so disappointed, because she didn’t want the newer “pinkish” ones which even don’t have the last four Blitz Astral shadows and she wanted specifically the first one. We put mine and hers side by side - they don’t swatch the same, it’s like Pat duped herself in the cheapest way. I mean, for those who were not familiar with the quality she put out before her sell out it could seem a “normal” palette, but if you compare it to the ones produced earlier you will understand, that it’s not even worth it even with those discounts. So, please, be careful ❤

I purchased a blush and a shadow palette- at TJ Maxx marked down by a lot (under 9.99) - they’re for my grand who isn’t that discriminating 🤫 I think we will be seeing a lot of mergers as well as chapt 11 .

Do people believe Ms. McGrath started this company with her own money or has ever made all of the decisions? It's always been a company and not a personal project. She's worked at huge cosmetics and fashion companies, and I wouldn't be surprised if this expansion was always part of the plan. Fashion house makeup exists for this very reason. Get a hardcore base who will pay high prices for the quality and the name then make less expensive products to bring in the masses because that's where the real money and longevity is. How many Tom Ford Beauty users buy Tom Ford shoes? Very few. But they coexist under the same name, and the people buy from whichever brand they choose.
I hope the company realizes that their initial users are feeling betrayed and trying to undermine them by word of mouth and throws a few bones with some all baked and astral blue and green motherships. I guess that's what the holiday kits were supposed to do, but it's not enough yet.
Mothership III is my favorite also. I feel it's the most unique out of all the Mothrships. I wish she would've gave us something like Mothership III instead of that last pink Mothership. It would've put her back on the map.
I actually have purchased a few back ups in different shades of her foundation, solely because of how it feels on the skin. I have other foundations that I like the look of better, but none are even close to as comfortable as the PMG one. If I need to put on foundation but really am not in the mood to feel like I have any on, especially when I’m going to be out in the heat and humidity, PMG is tried and true
I love that most concealer brushes are “finger shaped,” which Pat did first. Regardless of brand, we are all using mama pats finger to blend our concealer. So while I don’t buy her makeup anymore, really. But must give her, her flowers there.
Her products used to be interesting. Then she started making everything pink or rosy. I don't mind finding her stuff in TJ Maxx for $30. I bought three palettes there this year.

Shout out to the Pat McGrath Subversive palette! I purchased this from a trusted eBay seller at a discount got it for £60 brand new in box! It's my favourite PM palette too & even as a novice I don't find it intimidating 😊❤
That’s seriously the best place to get a lot of makeup.. that’s also where I’ve gotten every mothership palette;) And for 40$-70$, no more than that. Love eBay:)

I just wanted to say that I LOVE PMG LIQUID LIPSTICKS !! 🫶🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🙌🥰❤️ I worked in a NYC hospital during Covid & I wore a mask for hours on end … let me tell you all that all I wore under my mask were the PMG liquid lipsticks ! They did not budge, smudge or dry out my lips !!! The shades are stunning & paired with her lip liners they are perfect & long lasting ! Im obsessed with ALL her highlighters & I own them all; her lipsticks are great, blushes & bronzers & lip glosses are great ! Her foundation & concealer though not so great for me 🤷🏻♀️ other things I’ve loved her pot shadows released in SW collection so good & her liquid shadows are so good too ! ❤ one day I hope her brand can turn around & be like it was in the past 😊

I do like a few Pat products but I have only the permanent classics. I have the mothership I, a blush in electric bloom, one of the Bridgerton blush and highlight trio palettes which I like. I had and used up the concealer and undereye powder, both ok but not really something I want to repurchase, especially as there are so much better new concealers these days that I want to try. I prefer the Huda loose powder for under eye thoughts, its also better value for money.

While I don't like PML concealer for my under eyes, I have tried all the top brand concealers and Pats is the ONLY ONE that covers hyperpigmentation.
I like the tarte shape tape but as a 30+ year old I find it highlights my fine lines & creases. I do like Estée Lauder's double wear concealer though I highly recommend that

I'm upset that they don't sell singles anymore. Divine Mink is the best eyeshadow shade of all time (fight me on this lol). I don't want to buy an entire mothership palette for this one shade even if i do love the mothership that it comes in

I’ve been wanting to check out the earliest Mothership palettes. I have the Divine Rose palettes, and I didn’t love them as much as I thought I would. But I do love her lip products and highlighters and did purchase 2 of the five pan holiday eyeshadow palettes and am trying those out now. 👍

I wouldn’t recommend the Merit pot shadows. I was aware that they needed to click when closing to prevent the product from drying out. Despite that there have been several times I haven’t closed them all the (I thought I did) and the shadow has dried out A LOT. I would not recommend
I purchased the Bronze Seduction palette a little over two years ago, and that was the last time I bought anything from her. Nothing she comes out with wows me anymore 😢

When you start to see a once desirable pricey makeup brand show up in TJ maxx along side with duds like Revultion and Jacyln...you know something is up.
I picked up a couple of PML eyeshadow singles when I saw them at Marshall's, but they still weren't cheap. Dark shimmer shades; purple and taupe. Lots of fallout, a mess! Curiosity satisfied... saw a blush single at TJMaxx today, it looked too orangey for me. I wonder if her products' appearance at discount stores is the death knell.

PM needs to start charging on all her deliveries. She's almost the only highend brand who doesn’t charge a premium on delivery. She'll be surprised how much that would generate. Her quality still trumps ND, so I'm still rocking with her when I love her colors.

I just buy my repurchases from Pat at this point from her sales. Need to re up on lipgloss, that pressed powder, mascara and lip liner. I’ve already built a mothership collection. (Im missing midnight sun and sunlit seduction…. I missed decadence) I think I’m just gonna get the quints on sale. Nothing else excites me. Such a shame. 4/5 years ago I would lust after her brand when I was in high school. Such a shame she’s let the brand go to waste. I am now building my Natasha denona collection. At least she puts out different palettes each time.
I feel like if pat released her foundation now, it would get so so so much support with the whole clean girl aesthetic going on. ultra love her lip glosses and the undereye powder too but I have to agree with Morgan that her branding and products these days kind of feel lackluster :( which is so sad because pmg was the epitome of luxury makeup for me years back and it's pretty sad how she kinda? fell under the radar? idk maybe it's just me but things have definitely changed :(
I feel the essence was their testing the water for skin care and I just don't think it did well enough. I adore the foundation and always restock in a sale.
The ONLY PML product I absolutely love is the undereye powder. The Laura Mercier one is a close second, but anything else of hers is too meh for me

Hey love, I enjoy your videos and thoughts on makeup, but today I have to agree and disagree.
1. PML👑 has now established a true core brand that will cement them as a legacy luxury brand if she chooses. I love the user friendly and pro approach without the over done colorful stories.
2. PML👑 make the Rose Essence (which in my opinion is better than the SAIE glow gel when accompanied with the primer, but SAIE is financially more sound for me😂).
3. For me, I enjoy that the staple foundation is a Satin finish because it’s still amazing when made matte or more dewey. Same great coverage, same amazing soft focus look, etc.
4. I definitely agree about the lipstick line, back to the drawing board 😢( however I enjoyed the liquid lips and the balms are cute and the glosses are slamming). Also, crème blushes , pressed bronzer / highlight are cute but a revamp is also needed, except the blur powder (absolute staple other then Kett pressed powder).
5. For the comments about the company financially struggling…. though I don’t know her financials and liquid cash or assets , it’s an evaluated billion dollar company… she aight. Don’t be fooled by the discounter store shame videos, over production happens all the time, sales happen all the time (especially if you own the the manufacturing). I do think she can stop producing all the previous eyeshadows and start over but, it will cost lol. 😂
6. Lastly, is PML👑 worth it, well it depends. Money spent on PML👑 is money well spent. I do agree that buying the same products I have at full price is illogical but for those who haven’t experienced it or want brand new unused product and can’t catch a sale.. then that’s how the cookie crumbles but yes the price points for the same core product that I’ve already invested time getting to know how it works for just a repurchase for a few shades is illogical 😂.
Overall, I love the dialogue of your assessment and as you can see I love your videos/ channel and PML👑. Just wanted to add some thoughts from my side for the readers in the feed. Love you- Chaź❤

I have two mothership palettes (4 and 7); a holiday palette; and some quads. Frankly, I’ve never been impressed with her eyeshadows: I find them too hard-pressed and patchy, especially her dark mattes.
Edited to say that of the “mainstream brands” (i.e., available at Sephora and Ulta), I find Natasha Denona’s eyeshadow palettes to be the best quality.
As a novice I do agree with the one & done re the astral shades in the mothership palettes compared to more nuanced looks that you can do with ND palettes albeit I'm learning & ND forces me to up my game. I purchased some Rephr brushes too as felt that I needed the best of the best to up my eye shadow application game 😊❤
I want to find the brightest , lightest, shiniest lid color with the greatest staying power from any brand. I love Mac Nylon and I love Loreal and Lancome silvers, but I'm so tired of silvers. I am a light medium complexion, blonde hair.
I like the look of the Charlotte Tilbury quads, but I have to buy the right one if I'm going to spend that much. Same with the Mothership . Moonlit Seduction looks exactly like the colors I am looking for , but the response for that release has been kind of meh from everyone. Is Huetopian Dream still of top quality?
A lot of these popular ones disappear on me. I have super oily skin, so I don't expect 12 hours, but 6 would be good.
Then when I find that, I want to find the blackest eyeliner in the world.

I own A TON of her makeup; ALL motherships; quads; most 6 pans; 2 mega holiday palettes; all love collection 6 pans palettes; all her recent holiday quints etc; her shadows made in Italy are stellar & still are 😅❤

Decadence hasn't been sold in years. I noticed that too. Maybe because it wasn't so well received. That's my theory.

I just bought Midnight Sun and I noticed the mattes are much creamier than my other motherships. I am curious if other people have experienced this. Maybe my other motherships have dried a little with age? But I don’t remember them mattes ever being this creamy and wonderful. Can anyone attest to this? I’m so confused, did I get duds with the other ones? Divine rose 1 I find to be the weakest in pigmentation too. Edit: I own mothership 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 9 and all of them feel dryer than 6
