MAMMOTH ERRANDS! Finally A Suitable Car For The Purpose | SHMUSEUM VLOG 79

- It's Mammoth time... the Hennessey Mammoth 1000 is spending a few days with us at @TheShmuseum and we need to pick up some new cabinets from IKEA. Obviously we're jumping into this gigantic truck for some errands, even if it's going to cost us a fortune in fuel!
First up, it's time for a quick update on the whereabouts of the Lusso, followed by a quick walk around of the RAM. As you'll be able to see, @Shmee150's LEGO collection is forever growing and we're very quickly running out of space, hence an IKEA trip is needed to pick up some new RUDSTA units.
After some Swedish meatballs it's time to load up the truck with our cabinets, and show our newest member to the team... a little T-Rex!
Finally we take on the delicate challenge of moving some model car displays out to our lounge area behind the supercars. Not daunting at all... given the amount Tim has, and how custom some of them are.

Do you know Tim, when you first presented the barn, you said it is huge and you didn't plan to have such a big mancave. Now it looks suddenly a bit crowded.

I think they will be knocking through the end wall. If you have looked outside when they wash cars the building they're in is twice as long as what we see inside. Doubt they would put more lifts otherwise. Can not wait to find out.
I believe this might be it & I hope it is, I've seen a picture of the full size of the building.

Yup, I’m guessing behind the end wall is more space exactly like the Shmuseum was when they debuted it a year ago. I wonder if that whole wall is design to be removed…
I have been saying that wall on the end looks perfectly designed to come out and still have a “doorway” look to it with the exact same building right next door😂
If you look up a picture of the shmuseum on google a green barn that is obviously the old cow place, it’s 2x maybe 2.5x bigger than they are currently showing.
It baffles me that Brad can get insured to drive a 3 ton monster truck that barely fits on UK roads, but can't get coverage for some of the "more reasonably" priced Shmee mobiles. I suppose if it's based on industry crash data, then very few people of Brad's age have totalled a Hennesey Mammoth.
Probably because it's under Hennessy's insurance and not Tim's.

The funny thing is that the Mammoth (at least the RAM it starts out as) is considered a mid sized pickup in the USA. We have way larger pickups than that. You can get a similar one with dual wheels on the back, making it another foot wider on both sides. That thing also only has a 4ft box on it. You can get a truck like that with a 10ft box. Then you start getting into large vehicles.
None of them have a 1000hp Hennessey engine in them though...
No it's not, it's a full size pickup. The dually pickup trucks are called HD trucks. A Ford Ranger is a midsize truck

It’s funny to see the reaction of people when seeing this places other then the US. That’s bigger then most trucks, but there is a truck is most driveways here and it wouldn’t be weird to see that driving down the road

Never expected to see an old square body Chevy over there. My dad had one when I was growing up. Headlight dimmer switch on the floor, foot operated. Very cool
Get a diesel 1500 RAM and fix it up, probably better mpg than most of your vehicles, even better utility than a TRX. Though it's still huge.

@freepieanchipsgarage Sure, it can fit, but as a daily driver there are likely better vehicles. I have a RAM Rebel and lived in the UK, I wouldn't own it there.
@freepieanchipsgarage Sure, I made that same point yesterday that about Transits and Sprinters, but as a daily driver, it's a bit big, even though I use one now, where I lived in the past wouldn't make any sense. It would be a stressful drive. However, as you mentioned, if you live in certain areas in the UK where it could work. Just not really the best choice for most UK drivers, including Tim and his team based on their comments as well. Though I suspect a regular 1500 diesel could work for them, it's not much smaller than a TRX however. I personally would go with a Ranger, Hilux or similar in their situation.
@freepieanchipsgarage Clearly not for everyone, not a lot of full size trucks in the UK, almost all grey market imports. So clearly, it's not a good fit for most drivers there, can you really argue that point that a full size American truck is probably too big for most drivers there?
@freepieanchipsgarage You let me know that, though I'm sure the numbers are tiny. It isn't the size? I lived in the UK, the Focus is considered a full size car, a Ranger is too big for most people where I lived. Honestly, you think a full size truck like a DT RAM isn't considered too big for most people in the market for a vehicle there?

I’m laughing because what the mammoth got in miles per gallon of pretty much what my 04 Jeep Grand Cherokee got on average lol. Something about our trucks/suvs and the smiles per gallon. There’s something to be said about big tires and being able to crawl over any obstacles in from of you in a lifted truck. The sacrifices we make 😂😂

How did you like it overall, Tim? I worked for a Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep/RAM dealership, and I got drive these RAMs all the time (the normal ones not the Hennessey TRX of course). It was always so amazing, especially the higher trim luxury ones. They are easily the best luxury truck in America.
