I've Been Keeping a SECRET! Welcome to The Shmuseum V2 | VLOG 80

  • เผยแพร่เมื่อ 16 ก.ค. 2022
  • This has been a little secret... but I'm very excited to finally reveal the next chapter for ‪@TheShmuseum‬, and our first expansion! With the collection of Shmeemobiles quickly expanding, space was always going to be a problem, but now we have the solution.
    We moved into The Shmuseum as the ‪@Shmee150‬ HQ almost exactly a year ago and what an amazing year it has been. It's a huge thank you to the 120,000+ subscribers to the channel, plus the amazing brands and partners who have supported the journey so far. However, while we've been working on the plans for the office and mezzanine, an opportunity came up about 4/5 months ago that diverted plans and was too good to be refused. Welcome therefore, to the second generation of The Shmuseum and our brand new space!
    Approximately 2/3rds the size of the main hall, the new area gives a distinct split between uses and will allow the setup of a workshop for us to carry out light tasks in house, and who knows what down the line, with the main barn very much taking the museum duties. It's early stages and I'm giving some time to take in ideas before committing to it all and an exact layout.
    After coming to show you the new area, we can also update on the plans for what we're doing across the entire space. Then it's actually out to pick up the Ferrari GTC4Lusso and explain where that's been recently.
    Thanks for watching!

    Tim, I know you said you would only do a small doorway between the two buildings, but seeing that large wall section that used to be open I can't stop thinking how epic it would look to have that section removed and open up the two sides. I'm sure a solution can be had to drive between them too. You could drive inside the two garages to service, wash, and stage all your cars without even having to go outside with them! Epic!!

    I would suggest hanging banners and flags from the ceiling first off. It sets the mood for what you are trying to accomplish. Secondly, i would have projection systems installed with your adventures of specific cars, and or race footage of the manufacturers. The international flags should have been featured because of your travels as well.

  • @ShiftingSplits

    I knew this was coming.. When you first moved in, I was thinking "thats not big enough for what Shmee wants to do".. You should use both spaces under the upper area for parking spaces and put all the storage in the second more industrial area.. Or use that area under for the "secret car" projects you mentioned.. Personally I think the mezzanine should have been where the tents are behind the main cars..

    • @rohan6983
      @rohan6983 2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      I am pretty sure they didn't put the mezzanine where the tents are cause the roof is too low for a second level
      Its not obvious at first glance but it is lower then the other side due to the slope of the roof

    • @TheShmuseum
      @TheShmuseum  2 ปีที่แล้ว +19

      This is correct, the upper level couldn't fit down that side, it would have to be at one end and we rocked back and forth at the early days where to put it and concluded it would be best away from the 'noise' that might be on the workshop side.

    So genuinely happy for you Tim, 7 years ago watching you struggle against the pillar in your old underground parking, shuffling the 650, mini, 3 wheeler around spending your life moving cars in and out of spaces, to now seeing the amazing space, wow. Love seeing the E500, I drive a mid noughties german V8 long wheel base barge as a daily, simply because anonymously driving a car which cost north of £100k new with more kit and luxuries than most modern cars is very appealing. Plus it blends in much more than its twin, the flying spur.

    Loved the reveal, did not see it coming, but I do highly recommend that cars should be able go get from one side to the other without going outside, and to follow, you could have an indoor wash bay in the other barn for those cold winter days. And you'll finally be able to get your own trailer, maybe even get one with transparent sides so others can see what's in the trailer, it would look really awesome, maybe even with The Shmuseum and Shmee150 logo on. :)
    Again, loved the video and keep them coming :)

    Main Area - the Shmuseum with its Memorabilia
    Second area - storage, workshop and 'everyday' vehicles - the cars you don't want on 'Display'. That second area could be perfect for Kitchenette, Toilets, Garage/Workshop inc storage for Tools, tyres, wheels, and any parts, main working 'office' for keeping all paperwork and for all the running of the Shmuseum and channel to keep the Main area for purely the museum cars, memorabilia and leisure. Keep the Main area for 'leisure' and 'pleasure' and the back area as the 'working' and storage area for the running of the Shmuseum and channel, maintenance and working/everyday vehicles...
    I know all your cars are used regularly but there are 'special' cars that you want to show off in the Shmuseum and others you have are 'daily' drivers, working vehicles (for towing or support vehicles) etc that take up space in the Shmuseum. That old Clio for example is taking a space that could be used to display a 'special' car. That would be better 'stored' in the working section.
    Every 'Museum' has an employee only area where any maintenance and/or items not for display are kept, where they actually 'run' the Museum and you have the perfect opportunity to have a 'work only' area behind the 'display'' area...

    Hey Tim, even though there is an elevation difference between the two buildings, if they are actually attached, you could always cut a car sized hole between the 2 museum halves, and place one of your lifts on the floor of the lower building, like an elevator,at the opening, allowing you the luxury of moving cars between buildings without having to subject them to inclimate weather. Oh, and by the way, your video style is fantastic. Thank you.

    Congratulations on the expansion of the Shmuseum, it's going to look amazing when it's complete. Not sure if it could be done but have you thought about having remote controlled shutters so that you can open and shut them from inside a car?

    So looking forward to seeing generation 2. I would open them both up with a glass and metal barrier.
    Then separate the everyday cars to the exotics but with it being opened up you get the advantage for seeing right through and everything going on 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

    Shmee, a viewer numberplate wall would be epic. Just a huge yellow wall of just plates. It would suit the automotive vibe your trying to get.

    Very cool news. I think I'd open it up a bit and have some sort of mezzanine linking the two sides. Would be cool to have an overview of the museum and the workshop all from the same balcony. And then I'd put the halo space under the new mezzanine in the museum. Make it the focal point at the end after walking past all the supercars.

    Projector needed on one of the walls 140inch screen. To show photos vids and track days. A designated bar area, and a Place to put Modu Cases for the small car collection. At night will need club lighting. And some party boxes would make it sound amazing

    So, all you need for a couple of spaces that are up on stage is punching holes back thru what you built?
    Two halo spaces up on a stage as a backdrop for your collection.... Yes please 😊

  • @lordjoeb
    @lordjoeb 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Awesome news!!! All he storage should go to the other barn that would create a better and cleaner view of the space….
    With more space available a bigger halo space to be able to park a car sideways or even have or set up a rotating pad … that’s just an idea….
    More than exited for the future content

    Very excited for you guys!! Copy what DDE are doing with the storage for tyres... Car parts. Hire an Electrical and mechanical workshop engineer (like Edd China - to maintain Clio's and Merc estate). Build a Smee-style Tesla S Plaid / Rimac Nevera-like vehicle for fun... Dragstrip sub-10s car. I'm getting carried away .. but hey we can all dream.
