I think the problem is that we don't know what to do with the information we have access to or to know the difference between real and false information or how the information is presented.

One of my dad's favorite sayings. " He knows just enough to be dangerous". I have seen this to be true countless times over the years. In my self and other people.
This is an awesome lesson.....the more people realize that the internet is Dunning Kruger University the better....most of us haven't gotten to even the sophomore (literally wise fool) level, but we think we have the full degree....
I think you need to build an outhouse behind that bear. Carve a half moon in the door. Then when folks ask "Does a bear shit in the woods?" You can take them out to the woods and ask them to figure it out. Good tape, Greg.
I remember Neil deGrasse Tyson touching on this a couple years ago, and there was even a meme created where he said something in the order of "thinking you know enough about a subject that you think you are right about something, but not knowing enough about the subject to know that your conclusion is wrong".
knowledge is very dangerous. I advise everyone to pursue knowledge. Knowledge allows you to think critically and that will allow you to be free. Know enough to know that you don't know enough about something to admit it and listen to someone else.
So true. Suprising of how many develop expertise from minutes of speaking to a trusted source over one who has spent 34 years in national intelligence.
This problem exists in people who have a little bit of knowledge, for example, about the American Civil War. They learn a bit, stop learning, are self-satisfied, and close their minds to new information.
There must be an angel that watches over people when they learn a little bit about something and try something WAY beyond their level and yet amazingly get away with it when they never should have. A little knowledge on its own isn’t dangerous…but the idea that this little knowledge gives one a full view of the situation can be quite deadly. Just ask a novice electrician.
This has likely been pointed out already, but a modern equivalent of this concept is called the Dunning-Kruger effect. It’s essentially a cognitive bias that we display as we learn or gain expertise.
not to be born in this cruel world is the luckiest of all in my opinion everything else is waste of time they are stalling us with phones computer weapons etc.. till we see the grave.
Drink from the spigot of wisdom and knowledge otherwise you will drown in the pool of idiocy and wokeness wake up people because there is a point of no return God forbid that we cross that threshold !!!
Watch out for that bear!!
If you blur the video it's a Bigfoot!
Lots of people confuse information with knowledge and wisdom. We have no shortage of information, but true knowledge and wisdom are much more scarce.
I think the problem is that we don't know what to do with the information we have access to or to know the difference between real and false information or how the information is presented.
These HickokTalks videos just go to show how amazing of a teacher this man must've been. Could listen to him for a long long time
Never stop learning.
till when ? you can't learn everything the system dictates that they want you to be a slave doesnt matter if you are a smart slave or a dumb one

We love you, teacher. Thanks for all you do.
The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know. Thank you for the chat, Hickok45!
You and I both
"A little knowledge can be more dangerous than none at all".
Knowledge would be knowing there's a hungry black bear (or not) immediately over your left shoulder! 😂
That is very true Mr. Hickok there is a surplus of idiocy on the internet !!!
See Dunning Kruger Effect. You're right on. Also talk to any college sophomore.
Beware of the guy who thinks he knows it all👍 Good lesson Hickok45!

Well I had a wise old Aunt who said ''Knowledge is no burden to carry'' Been pretty right so far. Cheers.
One of the most valuable lessons I learned during my PhD in physics was how little that I really know.
Hickok, this might very well be your best channel yet.
Thank you, please keep these bits of wisdom coming.
Posting here to demonstrate my gratitude for your videos. Thanks for taking the time to share your experience.
PS: Hickok45 for President!
In some cases though, it is good to take chances, make mistakes, and get messy!

" A truly wise man knows that he is not wise!"
Lack of knowledge and no accountability is the stuff of nightmares
Appears the bear was captivated by at least your talk, if not the content. I enjoyed both.
We like hearing ya yack these days!
Good video 👍
Great vid!
A little bit of knowledge is a dangerous thing.

A little knowledge may be dangerous. But ignorance definitely is dangerous.
There's a BEAR!!!
This guy has real wisdom to impart
That explains a lot. Thank you>
I like to say that I Don't know everything about anything and just enough about a lot of things to be dangerous.
I feel more dangerous already.

Right to own bear arms

Knowledge certainly can be dangerous but I would say ignorance is as well.

I have said this once and I will say it again, There Is No Such Thing as an Expert.

In other words as Don Draper said…” Young people don’t know anything, especially that they are young.”
Brain or not a good chat.
Sometimes you learn the bear….sometimes the bear learns you. (Yes I know it’s teach/teaches)
Like when you don't know what you don't know.
i know everything
I know enough to know I don't know sh!te.
never stop trying to learn.
U should do a live stream
Epistemology. Nietzsche taught the phenomenon of Knowledge at Basal University...
Hopefully you didn't pick the bear!!!
L.I.G!

So what you're saying is... no one should ever learn anything about anything?
