Hi Sandra I'm a retired Coronary care nurse of 44 years. The procedure you had was a cardiac catheterization which is actually not surgery, but where a special catheter is placed in the groin, wrist or axilla. It is threaded into the coronary arteries whereby a stent can be placed or plaque cleared from within an artery. Patient's are given conscious sedation whereby they are sleepy but able to be aroused to answer questions during the procedure. The blood tests were cardiac enzymes such as CPK/Troponins. These are released into the bloodstream when cardiac muscle is damaged. There also will be EKG changes seen. You are right about the fact that women present differently than men and will attribute their discomfort to heartburn or just being tired. More women die of heart attacks than women. I'm so glad you are alright, but now hopefully you won't delay going to the E.R. if it ever happens again. There is an expression in cardiology which is, time is muscle. Meaning the longer you delay the more damage will occur and possible death. Take care.

Praise God. I went to the ER with stomach pain and had stage 4 colon cancer last year. I kept putting it off saying it was ibs. But what struck me was you saying the emergency room was empty. I had the same weird experience. I went at 9:30 in the morning and everyone tells me that is a miracle by itself. So God worked in both our lives! I also felt a peace when they took me back for two different surgeries. I’m still here and in remission. God takes care of us. 🙏

I’m so happy you are doing well now and did not have to have open heart surgery. My hubby had 2 stents put in several years ago and is doing great! I had a triple by-pass 15 years ago, and now have a pace maker. Every day is a gift! 😊

Denise, I'm so glad to hear that you're in remission. Last summer, I went to the ER with right-side abdominal pain. The appendix tip was a little swollen but the appendix didn't look inflamed. I was given the choice between an immediate appendectomy (by this time it was early the next morning) and go home the same day or be hospitalized for a few days in a watch-and-see effort. Because I'm immunocompromised, I wanted out of the hospital and chose the immediate surgery. It turned out that I had appendiceal cancer. Fortunately, the appendix had not ruptured, at which point I would have joined you with a stage 4 diagnosis, and margins were clear. I wish you oncologists who are knowledgeable and treatments that result in continued remission.

Sandra, your video title startled me. I've been watching your channel for a while now. You see, I went down to Texas over the holidays to visit my son and his family. It was the second week while I was visiting that I experienced a terrible pain in all of my teeth - both top and bottoms of teeth. It was a pain like none other I've ever experienced. I immediately took a couple of Tylenol and it eventually stopped. Over the next 2-3 days I would experience this same awful pain in my teeth again. Taking Tylenol each time. The pain didn't last long. I flew back home a week later and had a pre-scheduled doctor's appt for something else. During this appointment my Dr. was asking lots of questions for a test I was going to have coming up. Some of my answers to her questions determined right then to give me an EKG in her office. The results of the EKG showed I had some sort of incident. She wouldn't say what tho. I was scheduled with a numbers of tests... Stress Test w/dye, etc. Well, I had a silent heart attack and didn't know it. Fortunately, I didn't have to have any stents. Put me on a blood thinner, 81mg aspirin. My cholesetrol has been high for years (I'm 73). The first statin I ever took...Lipitor ruined my leg muscles. I quit that statin quickly, but have suffered leg pain daily since. Sorry this is so long, but just want to say...do your due diligence and research before starting/staying on a statin long term. Read statin forums of what patients have said about their own statin injuries. Just saying. I'm so glad tho to hear you came through your ordeal successfully. And, yes...women's symptoms are so much different than men's. Many women are in denial when we suffer these unusual pains. Now I know...

My husband died of a massive heart attack at home in July 2019, and I am concerned about living alone and having a similar experience. I didn’t know stints could be inserted through the wrist, and I’m glad they were able to do that in your case. You are so blessed considering the blockage could have been so much more dangerous. You are one lucky (blessed) lady! In 2016, I was dx: with breast cancer 3/31. I had checkup due to HBP w/cardiologist 4/21/16…I went in saying I don’t know why I’m here as I now have to deal with BC. But I’ve been to ER 4 times w/both arms aching so bad…each time they’d do couple blood tests and tell me indigestion take Tums. When the cardiologist heard this, she said we need to do a heart cath right away! 4/22/2016, I had the cath. I went thru what you describe but I felt like I remembered it all. Doc ran up thru my wrist, said I had 95% blockage in right coronary artery!!! He said it’s called the widowmaker!! A bare metal stent was placed . 6/1/16, I had a lumpectomy. Stage I BC. Got thru 24 rounds of radiation.
8 yrs later, I’m fine! No more arm pain!! Both arms!!! I’d sit down and chew Tums! I’m so fortunate I didn’t die. Yes we women present differently w/heart problems. Both my parents keeled over dead …heart attack! Both sides of my family history died of heart issues. I too am a Christian and believe the Lord just wasn’t ready to take me! Im 75

I just found your channel for the first time with this video. I just wanted to tell you not to let the heart attack make you feel old because I had one at 33!! I was fit and in shape and had two little kids, but I was stressed and abused in my marriage, and sure enough full blown heart attack and a complication that led to a near death experience. I am 55 now and struggling somewhat with the next chapter of my life and really wanting to find some inspiration because I don't have a mother to be a role model. So glad ur doing well ! My Denny had a heart attack Sunday night ! Same thing ! One minute he was helping me with dinner, and then he went to sit on the chair in the living room, and he said his throat hurt, and his left arm felt numb, and he broke out in a sweat within like one minute from the time I left him in the kitchen to the time he sat in the chair no symptoms before that !! I called 911 they came did all his vitals he was good ! He wasn't having a heart attack then but they still wanted to take him to the hospital for observation, he did not wanna go, but we made him. So thank goodness !! on the way to the hospital we got stuck by a huge long train, and while we were waiting on the train, he had a heart attack in the ambulance so needless to say we were all panicky. Finally, the train went by and They rushed him to the hospital within half an hour he was in the cath lab having surgery ! He had 99% blockage in one artery 75% blockage in the other artery had two stents put in. He has two more blockages, but they can't do those now. He will
Go back in a couple weeks for that ! Yes so out of the blue, but no tight chest pain just sweats and his arm was going a little numb but not pain like you would think you hear. He was in the hospital 4 days and he just came home yesterday. He's doing well but it's pretty scary that it can come on that fast. Now I just have to figure out how to cook for him with heart friendly meals. Glad you're OK. You never know ! Thank goodness you have Bill now!!! Well, I went in and did a cholesterol test, Ecko Cardigram and a Calcium test. Well, they were doing my heart test and she said, we have to do a contrast in your vein. Lord, I know my BP went very high!! She blew my vein in my left wrist, hurt like----, finally she got in the crease of my arm, I was praying and I had 2 techs praying out loud!!! Can't use my right arm ever, NO. Next test was a breeze. So in the end, said heart was good, BUT, my heart is beating at only 85%. Said BP was high so they put me on Ramipril and Metoprolol ER. I never had HBP ever, so I keep a record for 2 weeks now on my Heart Rate and BP. I do need to lose some weight, so maybe this is where the HBP comes in?? It was all just so unexpected!!! Then send to Nashville, Tn. Only said this to let others know, please watch your HEALTH LADIES. Sandra, you look as gorgeous as ever, lord take care of you. God Bless you too. I had severe pain in my side and my left shoulder in 2019. So bad that my husband took me to the ER. My spleen was causing the pain, possibly due to a blood clot. My late parents had had heart attacks and strokes, so that made me a high risk. Doctors ordered EKG, ultra sound of heart and stress test on treadmill. Found out I’d had a mild heart attack couple of weeks earlier when I thought I had indigestion. Women present differently than men. They put 2 stents in my heart thru the wrist. Spent 4 nights in the Hospital and was so happy to get back home to get some real sleep. And to shower. My husband stayed with me throughout, he is my gift from God. Spleen sorted itself out. Hemotologist had me take b-12 and prescription iron and Vitamin C. Still see him every six months and cardiologist yearly now. Cardiologist at Hospital retired so I guess I was his Swan Song?? LOL. High cholesterol and blood pressure, handled with meds. Aphasia and damaged vocal cords due to surgery on carotid a few days later. I was a Paramedic for years but he never told me he was having the worst headache ever for 2 days. Rushed to ER with CT scan they talked to me in the hall. Didn't want him to know right away. He is quiet now, not necessarily a bad thing. Stay well.

I was thin, watched my weight, had low blood pressure and very low cholesterol. Never sick either so I didn’t go for a physical for 7 years. Even though my health was the same, I finally went for a physical and my cholesterol was 300. In my case it is genetic because the same thing happened to my mother and brother, both very health conscious. For many years I have been on 10 mgs. of Simvastatin which I take at bedtime. I get tested each year and my cholesterol is constantly just below 200. I’ve never felt a side effect, I’m 75 and I still do all the hedge trimming, gardening and housework. I finally made myself hire someone to remove the snow even though I was shoveling my long, steep driveway up until two years ago. That was just plain stupid because nothing causes heart attacks like shoveling and throwing snow. Please re-think taking a statin. My father died at 64 from a heart attack while going up and down stairs installing wiring for a stereo at my brother’s house. My very lonely mom lived another 22 years.

Please take your time to process all this. I had a heart attack at 47 while working in a medical clinic. Same symptoms. Really bad burning in my throat and heartburn. I worked my whole shift and finally at 5:00 pm I went downstairs to Urgent care. Next thing I am being rushed by ambulance to the Hospital. The whole time I'm thinking, I'm not in that much pain, can't be a heart attack. I was super active, healthy non smoker, low cholesterol. Ladies, she is right. Listen to those symptoms and take it seriously. I'm 60 now and feeling wonderful. Bless you dear Sandra. It will hit you in a couple of weeks what you went through. My cholestrial was almost 300 and I have been on a statin pill for several years. My blood work last month showed it down under 100. I hate taking a statin drug, but it does work. Also, those hospitals are also teaching other doctors, so maybe so many people there in surgery could have been students. Just another thought. You looked amazing in your video. You take such good care of yourself, and a bump in the road very well showed that. Keep smiling and God Bless.

Oh my Sandra ❤️ bless you , I hope if you ever feel that kind of pain again, you don’t put it off again. I understand we women and even men think it’s just indigestion ,but always go to the doctor or ER when symptoms like that happen, My husband survived a widow maker,Thank God🙏🏻
He had been hurting ,sweating, and was having shortness of breath for about two weeks ,then it got way worse all of the sudden, he still thought it was just indigestion or angina ,when it was a heart attack💔 Thank God I talked him into going to the hospital 🙏🏻when I took him, they did a ekg, it came back normal, but the doctor said let’s do a blood test, about twenty minutes later they came back and said he was having a heart attack😳😫
They had to take him to a larger hospital ,by the time he got to the larger hospital he had a Major heart attack on the way.But thank you Jesus🙌🏻
He was put immediately on a heart machine, and lung machine, they did open heart surgery the next morning. One doctor told us in ICU that most men do not survive the window maker, and that he was extremely lucky he survived it. I Thank God he saved my husband🙌🏻
My youngest brother died last Thursday of diabetes complications. My heart is sad💔

I had the same symptoms, basically but, mine was more shortness of breath. I had had a cold and thought it was taking long to recover from. I went to my regular doctor for the 3rd time for this "cold" and he said he was running an EKG. It showed abnormality so he sent me to a cardiologist. The cardiologist went through my wrist and said if he could stint it he would then. He couldn't stint it so set me up with a surgeon. Had to crack me open. He did a triple bypass and that will be 2 years this November. I was 56 when this took place. I did not have a heart attack but he said it's a miracle I didn't. I said all of that to say this, it doesn't matter the age but please be aware of these symptoms mentioned. It doesn't necessarily knock you on your tail with pain. It also feels so much like indigestion. I'm so glad you are ok! Thank God you were taking vitamin E! Best wishes ♥️♥️

I feel you saved my 73 year old mothers life today because I follow you and watched this video a few months ago. Yesterday she was having chest pain, heaviness in chest , light head, and nausea. She thought the heat in Florida maybe had her dehydrated or something she ate. Indigestion. Then it progressed last night to shoulder pain, and and some back pain, and then jaw pain started. This morning I told my dad let’s take her to ER think it could be a heart attack. She called her primary doctor and she told her put a pain patch on. It’s your arthritis. NOPE!
Sure enough she was having a heart attack, she was clogged 100% in the one artery, and 80% in two others. Today they did emergency surgery via groin unclogged the one that was 100% put two stents, and Monday they are going to unclog the other two that are 80%. She is stable in ICU.
They flew her out of emergency room, gave her 5 aspirins to chew, and she also said the room was full of people with lots of commotion.
Luckily she was saved and cardiologist said if she would have waited one more day she could have dropped dead. She also has the card now. I just want you to know your videos do make a difference! ❤ thank you for sharing, this video saved my mom today. Kept thinking about your symptoms. And my insistence made her go in.
