Love your channel Scott!! Just creative thinking here.....If I have 3 knobs it would be: 1. Volume 2. EQ rotary switch with 5 presets. The used preset is shown on a small oled display, so you will always know which preset you are using. You can also change the eq presets by software and name them whatever you want. 3. The amount of selected EQ preset is applied. This will keep my inner geek happy at home by endless possibilities, but will give me simplicity when needed (playing live). Greetings from The Netherlands
I want to thank you for helping me with my sound on my New GK legacy 800 Watt Bass Amp. I was loosing my mind trying to find my right sound from this amp and GK 210 Cab. I play a Geddy Lee Japan model supped up. with TOM Branley/Geddy Lee Rewinds Pick ups. brighter sounding and had the frets leveled and recrowned What a difference. My problem was I had the treble up to high. Like you said you turn yours down and the Mid High Up. Well I did that, and instantly sounded much better and clearer to. Thanks bass brother for your most informative video. I'am now a big fan of your bass videos. Steve Nordstedt/Geddy. You can watch a few of my videos under. Steve Nordstedt plays and sings. I've been Singing Solos since I was in Christian School at the age of 9. Im 61 years young. Have played and Sang in bands playing RUSH and much other songs/bands. I'm a Tenor, so the higher range Vocals fit me. But with All the new technology. Since the 1980's, Im constantly learning. Thanks again. P.S. can you do a video on the GK Legacy 880 Watt D Class Amp and GK 210 Cab with the New NEO Speakers. I love them. Cleaner sounding than my 210 Markbass cab.
1.Volume 2.Jaco 3.Jamerson. ps. You have a mouse hunter right there outside your shed! Let that guy in the kitchen for a night, the mice will be gone in no time.
I really enjoyed the head and like the activeness of it. 1.Volume 2.Mid 3.Compression I would like it this way because I could just adjust bass and treble on the bass and then decide where I want the natural tone of the bass to be or how much of it I want. Compression is gonna be a must in any situation!
Greetings Scott, I don't generally adjust my knobs unless the room is terrible or my strings are awful which happens sometimes because like most I'm just a poor local musician. That being said really thinking about it I would have to say, 1. Volume (obviously) 2. boost/cut for the next knob 3. frequency or Hz or EQ selector or parametric knob with a fairly narrow Q (whatever anyone wants to call the knob with a thousand names.) Thank you for all your help on my learning journey sir. have a great day.
Probably go for 1. Volume 2. Low-mid 3. Built-in FX EQ (turn the knob to change to another sound). Love the videos, and the courses. Keep up the good work!!
I love simplicity! For me I need: - Volume - Compression - Notch Filter I can get everything else I need out of the basses I play. My main bass is a Warwick thumb bolt on. My backup is a Raven Wood custom build with Ken Smith pickups, Aguilar electronics and Grover tuners. Many other basses in the shed but these are my go to instruments. Thanks so much for your channel. I have learned a lifetimes worth of bass techniques to copy and adopt since discovering you about a year ago. If I lived in the UK I am sure we would be mates! Cheers!
1) volume 2) compression 3) shape that should be all you need cause an amp flat should be the voice of of its sound, multi band compression to reign it in, and the shape to give you different eq settings on the fly. Cheers Scott
Scott - I tried to post this yesterday & it disappeared - so, I'll try again ... First - Love this video especially the little late night correction you added in there ... that was great to be honest about it. Now, for the other reason for the post - The 3 knobs for a Bass Amp if I could design it ... 1 - BIG Volume knob - all the way to 11 !!! 2 - A Combo Compressor / Overdrive knob - pull the knob out for the compressor & push it back in for the overdrive !!! 3 - A Combo EQ - pull out for the Bass & push it back down for the Treble / Mid ... (You just said 3 knobs ... you didn't mention that they could be multi-functional !! LOL) I'd love to win this amp, I have 4 granddaughters & 2 of them have been bitten by the music bug so far, so they make me get my acoustical bass out to try and show them a few things .. which isn't much since I've been trying to re-learn everything from 35 years ago that I've long forgotten ... but thanks to you and what you've been showing us, it has slowly been making the transition back a little easier when i get to carve out the time to do it. If I do end up winning this contest, next will be getting a P or J body or a Ricky .. all depends on what I can find. Again, thanks for the lessons, the contest and the inspiration to get me back in the groove again !!!
1 Volume (the BIG one!) 2.Variable "scoop" EQ sweeps from "simile to frown" EQ shape (flat in the middle) 3. Passive tone control at the end of the chain like those found on, say, a Precision or Jazz bass.
As a very new bass student I’m enjoying the videos and think that what would help me most at the moment would be: 1. Volume 2. Left hand to right hand coordination expander 3. Left thumb pain suppression filter Thanks for the opportunity and the great videos.
1. Volume. 2. Frequency selection. 40hz-2khz 3. boost/cut. noon would be at unity, turn left to cut, right to boost. But a placebo knob for nosy-micro-managing-do-gooders might be nice!
1. Volume 2. Gain 3. Shelf type tone control of everything below 200 Hz, with little hump on 200 Hz. Instant cut through knob. But I could live without third knob :).
i'm just getting into bass and i'm so glad i found your channel, it seems like a gateway into an amazing community ! knobs i'd pick in addition to vol: - a lo-mid+bass knob (i.e. entire low half) - a compressor
Love the content you put out every week! All the different equipment and instruments you test out are amazing and so diverse. 1: Volume 2: Compression 3: A knob to stop my sound man from turning me down in the mix
This is a killer amp!!!! Scott, thank you again for another excellent review, your knowledge and instruction has really helped me get to the next level as a musician. As far as I'm concerned I need: 1. Volume 2. Gain 3. Tone That's it! I can't tell you how many times I've been on stage and turned back to hit the wrong knob, and mess up my mid-lows or what have you when I meant to adjust my gain or volume. I love this simplicity!!!!
My preferences are the 1st being Volume, 2nd being Treble, and 3rd being Bass. I like having control over the treble but I like it turned up. It sounds better to me.
1. Volume 2. Low mids 3. Compressor Most everything else can be messed around with on the bass itself, but to me these are essential to have built in to the amp.
3 Control Knobs 1. Volume 2. Drive 3. Compressor That's all I need because I can handle the EQ on most of basses since they're active. Also have to say I've had experience with the Bergantino amps and cabs and they're amazing. I used an AE212 as my main stage amp for a few years and rarely disappointed. Clean and transparent but could handle overdrive when I kicked it on.
I love the simplicity of this amp. 1- Volume, 2-compressor and 3 would be a control that allow to smoothly make a transision between personalized tone presets.
1. Volume 2. Contour 3. Post-power amp Gain (is this a worthless knob if there's no eq section? If so, then I change my answer to Presence) This is a great question. I've seen stereo amplifiers with the KISS ethos, but not so much with the bass amps. Control is great and I don't think I'd give it up, but I'd actually love to try an amp with just a volume knob so that the signal from the bass is as unadulterated as possible. My ears...they're not so keen that I can distinguish between different pickups, woods, etc., so an amp like this could really highlight the characteristics of the guitar itself.
1. Volume (bass) 2. Volume of band mix (for monitoring) 3. Singer volume (for monitoring) That way wouldn't need to have separate monitoring amps nor keep pestering the sound guy! I'd use an active bass to sort out my EQ ;-)
I would go for : 1) Volume 2) Fuzz (because let's face it, it does come in handy) 3) Bass (it't always the ONE knob I'm playing with!) *entering praying for a new amp mode*
After the volume, My 2 controls would be: 1. Sub bass variable boost 2. Distortion attack The amp is mega compact (I have an old 1990 peavey mk6 that weighs slightly less than a tour bus!) The cab is super slim and light but still packs a punch (I’ve got a 1990 4 x 10, takes a professional weightlifter to lift!) As you can see, I’d love something compact and slim and not backbreaking to shift.
1. Volume 2. Active/Passive Switch (Think -10db Button like for example on the Aguilar Tone Hammer 500) 3. Power Switch Since I'm investing in nice pedals for doing compression, eq, tuning etc., I really don't need anything more on my amp. Clean, easy, one big know, one input, two switches.
Love Jim Bergantino products, used them for years, almost bought this amp, but budget wasn't there. Three knobs hmmm, 1. Volume 2. Stack Para EQ with 3 low selects and Q on top 3. Stacked Para EQ with 3 high selects and Q on top
1. Volume 2. Grit/Dirt/Funk (a knob that goes from kitchen-clean to old SVT maxed) 3. Tube SAG (a knob that changes power amp dynamics from Class-D quick to Ampeg B15 pokey)
I already use a Quilter Bass Block, with 4 knobs, with my Sire V7 5-string: 2 of the knobs are volume and gain. All other EQ is on the bass. That feeds my MarkBass 2x10. Depth, and Contour. I've been playing since '67. I am not the best, but many of the best know me: Alphonso Johnson, Anthony Jackson, Nathan East, Jaco, Jamerson, Montgomery, Victor Bailey, Abraham, Ricky Minor, Tal, etc.
Very cool amp!! 1. Volume (BIG KNOB!) 2. Low Mids (400 Hz) 3. High Mids (1 kHz) I prefer to keep the amp as simple as possible and modify the sound of the bass before the amp, with pedals and stuff. Cheers!
1. Volume 2. Bass 3. Gain This way you can get the bass, you can get a dirty tone when you need more punch, and you can also get the highs and the harmonics out
That's a cool concept, I think a really neat setup would be a kind of pseudo parametric eq. 1. Volume.2. Target frequency.3, roll off direction/ intensity. Notched in the middle position. Further left, the more severe the eq curve decreases frequencies as they get farther from target. Further right the more severely the sounds around the target frequency are cut in relation to the notes farthest away. Seems like a really interesting arrangement that could create some unique sounds.
1.- One giant volume knob 2.- One compression profile selector 3.- Other useless giant knob for when FOH engeneer asks for less volume. (A bass player is never playing loud enough) 1 and 3 would be stacked (Like mid eq control on Sire basses) so that, the engeneer won't ever notice you don´t move anything. EXTRA: One SWITCH for extra groove for the drummer (Use it when needed)
1) My volume 2) Switch headphone or speakers 3) Switch Input On/Off so I am able to immediately jack the guitar in and out without a big annoying pop and keep the volume as is.. A Mug holder on top would also be nice.....
If I had to pic three it would be 1)Volume 2)Tone 3)Mids But I really would just like to have 2 knobs, 1 for volume and the other for tone like a Fender Precision Bass
I, if I had to choose 2 knobs with the volume, those two would be : - a tone (because it's the simplest way to efficiently change the texture of your sound). - a compressor (do I really need to explain why). Keep groovin scott !
Since I play an active bass, I guess having only two knobs other than volume to control the amp gives me the opportunity to have a little fun. One of the knobs would be a compression knob, and the second one would be a distortion/octave knob. So when you're in the 12 to 5 area, it would change the distortion on the bass and between 7 and 12 it would change the effect of the octave.
That looks really nice, if I have to make an amp with 3 nobs they will be: 1. Volume 2. Groove 3. Low endness There is no need for anything else when it's time to Bass up.
Really enjoy watching your videos! I’ve always loved bergantino cabs; really cool to see they are making amps too now. My three knobs: 1) Volume 2) Compressor 3) Some sort of tone knob (maybe something that can boost low/cut high and cut low/boost high, respectively)
1) Volume, 2) Compression, 3) Gain, ideally with a foot control for blend. I don't know if the blend pedal is cheating It's still technically 3 knobs on the amp though =)
1) Volume 2) Gain 3) Drive My bass has eq so really having more eq on my amp would be kinda pointless, at least for what I use my bass for. But having both gain and drive knobs on my amp would really give me a good range of sounds for different rock songs, which is the genre i delve the most. Gain and drive are NOT the same, so having both is what I would want.
1. Volume 2. Tone 3. Compressor That would be dream to have tbh. I don't like too much controls either. I want to play and not fiddling for hours every time I plug another bass.
1. Volume 2. Effect selector (like guitar amps to get rid of effect pedals, yes, bassists have pedals) 3. Overdrive (maybe three positions min mod max). Love the video in all of its randomness. Mice will come back unless you seal the holes or kill them. (Sorry.)
1. Volume. 2. Low Mid. 3. Compressor. That rig could really come in handy as my old band are reuniting this summer after 6 years and I don't have a rig anymore. Greetings from NORWAY :D
Thanks for running a wonderful channel for all my groove-based bass needs! The two controls I'd have on my signature amp besides volume would be 1) a tone knob (like on a passive bass) that would sweep between ultra bass and ultra treble 2) a knob that gives a variety of octave options for all my subby and lead bass needs! (ex. +1, -1, +1/-1, etc.)
I think if I could only have 3 knobs, one being volume theyd have to be -Volume - Gain - Mid frequency sweep or just a general tone knob A very simple set-up indeed but things like compression can be handled with a separate compression unit (ive never liked the onboard compressors in amps) everything else can be handled on the bass itself!
Along with the volume knob I d have a knob functioning as a octave switcher and the 3rd knob would be the bass synth, there would of course be supporting software that allows the programming/editing of the bass synth sound.
My first bass amp was a Philco console radio. It had a heavy duty 12" speaker. My best friend's dad was a line man for the local power company. He added a small piece of plywood with a few transistors and an input jack for my bass (a Fender Mustang). It had no control knobs (maybe that means it was permanently set on "10"). I was over the moon to be able to play. So Scott, as to your question--What three knobs?? Heck, I didn't need any knobs to be happy. Since then I have purchased other amps with more knobs, but none made me happier than that first Philco/Lineman Special.
Knob 1: VOLUME - nuff said Knob 2: ARSE - set low end phatness to taste Knob 3: ELBOW - set mid poke level, crank for a tone that digs right in the ribs. Note: Controls 2 and 3 should be clearly labelled to ensure that users can confidently tell them apart.
I think I would go with: - One bleddy hoofin' great volume knob - An Equally hoofin' great bass knob - and a somewhat subtler treble Lovely job, nothing fancy.
1) Volume 2) Reverb 3) Drummer Volume
Alex Bolek that’s fantastic
Alex Bolek 😂 jaja
1. Volume, 2) drummer volume, 3) lead guitar volume !
1) My volume 2) guitar players volume 3) Singers attitude level.
Ha, ha, ha,...Love your choices.
Absolute Best Response!
Love it!
brilliant!
Love your channel Scott!! Just creative thinking here.....If I have 3 knobs it would be:
1. Volume

I love them. Cleaner sounding than my 210 Markbass cab.
Volume Knob, SOR (Sense Of Rhythm) Knob & Tight Drummer Knob
Jeff James... Genius! !!! love that!!
Volume, volume and volume, so that they stack together.
Putting them all on max would probably cause an earthquake.
Hello Scott! If possible: my volume, guitarist volume, drums volume ahah! Thanks for nice and useful videos and greetings from Italy!
Yep I also love them as simple as possible:
- Volume
- Bass
- Knob with 5 or more dial options: 1 J Jam. 2 L Gra. 3 J Pas. 3 G Lee. 4 T Wim. 5 P Pal.
well, I would have Volume, bass, and treble. I believe you can still make it sound great with just those 3.
That's what are on my 1965 Ampeg B-15 N and nobody has ever complained about my tone.
All the other bells and whistles are a waste of time.
Volume, Funk and Mojo!
1.Volume 2.Jaco 3.Jamerson.
ps. You have a mouse hunter right there outside your shed! Let that guy in the kitchen for a night, the mice will be gone in no time.
I really enjoyed the head and like the activeness of it.
1.Volume
2.Mid
3.Compression
I would like it this way because I could just adjust bass and treble on the bass and then decide where I want the natural tone of the bass to be or how much of it I want. Compression is gonna be a must in any situation!
yes please!
knob 1. vol
knob 2. funk
knob 3. kittens
gimme dat amp :D
Kittens...yay
Has to be Volume, Geezer, Trujillo
And the winner is.....?
1) Volume
2) Wounding of the strings (where the knob turns from flats to rounds and varies how the wounding is polished)
3) Reverb (0-100% wet signal)
1.Volume
2.Useless one
3.Useless one
So I can pretend that I can actually setup my sound :D
Volume, bass, middle
1.Volume
2.Caffeine
3.Suck (Always keep this one turned down to zero)
Does this 3rd knob explains why Primus sucks ?
Greetings Scott, I don't generally adjust my knobs unless the room is terrible or my strings are awful which happens sometimes because like most I'm just a poor local musician. That being said really thinking about it I would have to say,
1. Volume (obviously)
2. boost/cut for the next knob
3. frequency or Hz or EQ selector or parametric knob with a fairly narrow Q (whatever anyone wants to call the knob with a thousand names.)
Thank you for all your help on my learning journey sir. have a great day.
Probably go for 1. Volume 2. Low-mid 3. Built-in FX EQ (turn the knob to change to another sound). Love the videos, and the courses. Keep up the good work!!
I guess it would be:
1 - Volume
2 - Bass
3 - Something between mids and treble, kind of a wide range of frecuency boost and cut knob
I love simplicity! For me I need:
- Volume
- Compression
- Notch Filter
I can get everything else I need out of the basses I play.
Cheers!
p.s. - if there is a "suck" button on the amp, please remove or disable before sending along!
1. Volume
2. Sustain
3. Compressor
Basically just wrap the bass preacher pedal up into the amp for me. I never turn the thing off.
1) volume 2) compression 3) shape that should be all you need cause an amp flat should be the voice of of its sound, multi band compression to reign it in, and the shape to give you different eq settings on the fly. Cheers Scott
1 - Gain
2 - Mix
3 - Volume
The amp would be half solid state and half tube-preamp which can be overdriven and mixed with dry signal from solid state.
Scott -
I tried to post this yesterday & it disappeared - so, I'll try again ...
First - Love this video especially the little late night correction you added in there ... that was great to be honest about it. Now, for the other reason for the post -
The 3 knobs for a Bass Amp if I could design it ...

2 - A Combo Compressor / Overdrive knob - pull the knob out for the compressor & push it back in for the overdrive !!!
3 - A Combo EQ - pull out for the Bass & push it back down for the Treble / Mid ...

1- volume 2- octave down blend/volume 3- fuzz/dist gain (maybe parralleled or blended with the dry signal). Could they be footswitchable? ;)
1 Volume (the BIG one!)
2.Variable "scoop" EQ sweeps from "simile to frown" EQ shape (flat in the middle)
3. Passive tone control at the end of the chain like those found on, say, a Precision or Jazz bass.
1. Volume
2. Mid level
3. Mid frequency
Mids are tricky, and different rooms can really mess with the sound. I like having a lot of control over them.
1.Bass
2.Compressor
3.volume knob with a little button labeled “screw the guitar player” that kicks up the volume so people can hear you in mixes
As a very new bass student I’m enjoying the videos and think that what would help me most at the moment would be:
1. Volume

3. boost/cut. noon would be at unity, turn left to cut, right to boost.
But a placebo knob for nosy-micro-managing-do-gooders might be nice!
1. Volume
2. Gain
3. Shelf type tone control of everything below 200 Hz, with little hump on 200 Hz. Instant cut through knob.
But I could live without third knob :).

Thus creating a fully adjustable high frequency filter.
1. Volume
2. Low mids
3. Compressor
Most everything else can be messed around with on the bass itself, but to me these are essential to have built in to the amp.
1. Volume
2. Gain
3. Mid
Your videos are great. I'm seriously considering signing up for the academy. Thanks!!!
3 Control Knobs
1. Volume

That way wouldn't need to have separate monitoring amps nor keep pestering the sound guy! I'd use an active bass to sort out my EQ ;-)
Knob 1: Volume
Knob 2: Drive (a distortion style drive knob)
Knob 3: Compressor
Thats all I need on an amp! :D
Cheers!
1) Volume
2) Compressor
3) A pushbutton for some EQ presets
Thanks Scott, nice gear as always.
I would go for :
1) Volume
2) Fuzz (because let's face it, it does come in handy)
3) Bass (it't always the ONE knob I'm playing with!)
*entering praying for a new amp mode*
After the volume, My 2 controls would be:

As you can see, I’d love something compact and slim and not backbreaking to shift.
For my three knobs on a bass amp, I guess there would be:
1. Volume
2. Some kind of tone control (low pass or something more clever)
3. Gain or drive.
1. Volume
2. Active/Passive Switch (Think -10db Button like for example on the Aguilar Tone Hammer 500)
3. Power Switch
Since I'm investing in nice pedals for doing compression, eq, tuning etc., I really don't need anything more on my amp.
1. Volume control that can go up to 11
2. Octave effect switch
3. Envelope effect switch (maximum funk)
1. Volume
2. Blend (of the tube and solid state channels)
3. DRIVE
Greetings from Finland! SBL rocks!!!
1. Volume
2. Grit/Dirt/Funk (a knob that goes from kitchen-clean to old SVT maxed)
3. Tube SAG (a knob that changes power amp dynamics from Class-D quick to Ampeg B15 pokey)

2. Frequency (35Hz-5kHz) and Bandwith (with stacked Dualknob - if allowed)
3. Level
Very cool amp!!
1. Volume (BIG KNOB!)
2. Low Mids (400 Hz)
3. High Mids (1 kHz)
I prefer to keep the amp as simple as possible and modify the sound of the bass before the amp, with pedals and stuff.
Cheers!

This way you can get the bass, you can get a dirty tone when you need more punch, and you can also get the highs and the harmonics out
That's a cool concept, I think a really neat setup would be a kind of pseudo parametric eq.
Wow! really love the sound.
(1) Input Gain + clip LED
(2) Bass
(3) Master Volume
1:Volume
2: Midrange
3: Mid Frequency
Pedals can handle anything else I might need.
Hmmm..
1 - Master volume
2 - EQ (cuts low and rise high lil bit)
3 - Bright controller
Would be interesting settings. )))
I'd say:
1. Volume
2. Gain
3. Compression
Great amp. Far better than my old low-cost Behringer combo.
1.- One giant volume knob
2.- One compression profile selector
3.- Other useless giant knob for when FOH engeneer asks for less volume. (A bass player is never playing loud enough)
1 and 3 would be stacked (Like mid eq control on Sire basses) so that, the engeneer won't ever notice you don´t move anything.
EXTRA: One SWITCH for extra groove for the drummer (Use it when needed)
1) Volume
2) Bass
3) Compression
I always have everything flat, so volume only would suite me.
1. Volume 2. Low mid 3. High mid.... mid controls change your tone more than any other knobs. So I’d say those would be my choices!
1. Volume
2. Low mid
3. Compression (VRC)
Love you Scott!
1) Volume 2) Gain 3) Tone shape (More or less like Mid control)
1) My volume
2) Switch headphone or speakers
3) Switch Input On/Off so I am able to immediately jack the guitar in and out without a big annoying pop and keep the volume as is..
A Mug holder on top would also be nice.....
1. Volume
2. Compression
3. Lead guitar volume (to remotely control those guitarists who don't seem to know that their knob turns anticlockwise)
If I had to pic three it would be
1)Volume
2)Tone
3)Mids
But I really would just like to have 2 knobs, 1 for volume and the other for tone like a Fender Precision Bass
I, if I had to choose 2 knobs with the volume, those two would be :
- a tone (because it's the simplest way to efficiently change the texture of your sound).
- a compressor (do I really need to explain why).
Keep groovin scott !
I've been really impressed with the Bergantino stuff I've heard.
1) volume
2) bass
3) low mid
Great sounding little Amp! I could get along with
1. Volume
2. Gain
3. Compression
Love your videos, Thanks!
1.Volume
2. Compressor
3. Variable input impedance
1) volume, 2) contour (dial from scoop (smiley) to mid boosted (frown)), 3) drive
That looks really nice, if I have to make an amp with 3 nobs they will be:
1. Volume
2. Groove
3. Low endness
There is no need for anything else when it's time to Bass up.
1) Volume2) Compressor3) Grunge (like a decorator)
1. Volume
2. Drive
3. Stage Spotlight On/Off
Really enjoy watching your videos! I’ve always loved bergantino cabs; really cool to see they are making amps too now.
My three knobs:
1) Volume
2) Compressor
3) Some sort of tone knob (maybe something that can boost low/cut high and cut low/boost high, respectively)
1) Volume, 2) Compression, 3) Gain, ideally with a foot control for blend. I don't know if the blend pedal is cheating It's still technically 3 knobs on the amp though =)
1. Volume
2. Compressor
3. Mids (for when the fancy for a fretless strikes mercilessly :)
1) Volume
2) Gain
3) Drive
My bass has eq so really having more eq on my amp would be kinda pointless, at least for what I use my bass for. But having both gain and drive knobs on my amp would really give me a good range of sounds for different rock songs, which is the genre i delve the most. Gain and drive are NOT the same, so having both is what I would want.
1. Volume
2. Tone
3. Compressor
That would be dream to have tbh.
(Sorry.)
My setup:
1) volume2) drive for sureeee3) lows for the thump.
That amp is gorgeous
Hey Scott! If I had to pick 3 knobs, they would be:
1)One Big Knob for volume
2)Bass level
3)Saturation knob
Cheers
1. Volume. 2. Low Mid. 3. Compressor. That rig could really come in handy as my old band are reuniting this summer after 6 years and I don't have a rig anymore. Greetings from NORWAY :D
Thanks for running a wonderful channel for all my groove-based bass needs! The two controls I'd have on my signature amp besides volume would be
1) a tone knob (like on a passive bass) that would sweep between ultra bass and ultra treble
2) a knob that gives a variety of octave options for all my subby and lead bass needs! (ex. +1, -1, +1/-1, etc.)
I think if I could only have 3 knobs, one being volume theyd have to be
-Volume
- Gain
- Mid frequency sweep or just a general tone knob
A very simple set-up indeed but things like compression can be handled with a separate compression unit (ive never liked the onboard compressors in amps)
everything else can be handled on the bass itself!
1. Volume
2. Low Mid
3. Distortion Level (A Darkglass Alpha/Omega blend would be awesome!)
1. Volume
2. Low-mids
3. Distortion
great demonstrations as always Scott, absolutely love your stuff
1. ) Volume
2.) Gain
3.) Mids
I NEED this! I'm only playing through a Focusrite, using my DAW's amps 😭
Knob 1: VOLUME - nuff said
Knob 2: ARSE - set low end phatness to taste
Knob 3: ELBOW - set mid poke level, crank for a tone that digs right in the ribs.
Note: Controls 2 and 3 should be clearly labelled to ensure that users can confidently tell them apart.
I think I would go with:
- One bleddy hoofin' great volume knob
- An Equally hoofin' great bass knob
- and a somewhat subtler treble
Lovely job, nothing fancy.
