"Dresscode" release is extremely widely used in releases in Korea & Japan to stop Chinese Bulk buyers from taking all the stock. Chinese bulk buyers would hire hundreds of people to queue up for a release 2 days prior so they can bring foreign stock to China. So stores have implemented the dresscode rule to prevent that. Atmos Japan has one of the toughest dresscode. For example in Korea, for the TS AF1, you were allowed to enter for a in-store raffle only if you were wearing nike x travis collab or any sort of AF1 with a nike top.

That's correct tom whenever you purchase something from a store you shouldn't check it outside the store. Afaik that is to prevent thief from viewing your purchased goods and when they see transaction on streets they will think its a drug related transaction.
On a side note, sidewalk is not a good spot to sit since sidewalk is used for walking not sitting and it will affect the overall front view of the store. That's what I know when I live in japan for 4 months. Small things in our country are big things to them.

In BKK, they always ask you to wear the dresscode for the limited release. For the AJ1 Travis, you need to wear AF1 and buy anything in the store with the total of 3000thb. The purchase must include 1 Nike product and must be within 7 days before the release 😂.
We had 1000 ppl for the raffle and there were only 60 pairs in BKK.

It's not because you can't sit in the side walk, you can't Loiter around the area of establishment stores. The reason why he came 5 blocks away is because it was his store that created the environment of 'loitering' so he has to make sure nobody gather, sit or smoke around the pavement/side walk in that area. If the store owners get complain and police arrives, he may get a warning or a fine for creating the situation. But the crazy thing is, if you are caught not obeying any law in Japan, you can automatically go to jail for 23-30 days with out any cause of reason. It's nice and great in Japan but when it comes to the jail sentencing, don't mess with their law. You can ended up staying in jail for a year just because you didn't want to move from the pavement. It's a different country, different laws. You can check out from this Japanese lawyer if you don't believe me. th-cam.com/video/r1ZLGqL1FMo/w-d-xo.html

Tom the reason why he was telling you to leave is because loitering is very negatively portrayed and is technically illegal.
However, since you were alone, which makes it not loitering, you were on the right here.
I know your intentions weren't harmful, but the store people may have had a good relationship with that store and they probably were just looking out for the store, since it was closed.
Also since Japanese people literally fear foreigners, they were probably just scared of something happening.
I had the same issue with the Harajuku Bape store, and they gave me the same bs like I can't be covering the window. So I moved over to the other side and they told me that I was causing traffic lol.

I’m very late but had to comment as I’m just now watching the video and seeing the comments… because people like to ignore how “rude” foreigners are in the U.S.. A lot of times they get a pass for their actions in our country because they “know no better” But we are expected to tiptoe around their rules when we go. Lol that’s not how things work.

Slightly admirable that you were standing up for yourself but would be way more admirable if you tried to understand if there were cultural implications first especially in a country where respect and following rules is everything.
