I've got a 2017 WRX myself and I love it. However, there is no advantage to AWD/4WD whatsoever when it comes to braking or cornering - the only advantage to AWD/4WD is accelerating.
Ehhhhh.... personally speaking in nice deep snow... when I put my dccd in full lock (17’ sti).... she’s so beast even under deceleration... the locking center diff makes a huge difference in my opinion
If those are the stock tires then they are summer only performance compound. I would avoid driving it in the snow, or your next snow video might be an expensive one.
