Have you upgraded to Mac OS Big Sur with the sabrent drive in the adapter? If yes any particular issues? Want to upgrade but want to make sure it works well with Mac OS 11.01 Big Sur. Thanks for letting me know

    Hello all,
After reading a lot about this adaptor, I decided to buy it, now waiting for it.
I have read about the hibernation problem and the waste of battery while sleeping but I will run the risk.
If it doesnt work properly enough, I will get an external enclouser and I will use it as an external storage.

I used a 2242 sabrent1tb and it worked. I cloned my Catalina boot drive but that didn’t work and would crash during the apple logo boot loading bar bit. So I booted in recovery mode and formatted the disk and did a fresh install on the sabrent and that worked.

Yes. Fresh installation or recovery from time machine seems to be the best practice for APFS Volumes.

Thanks for the videos! You are now suggesting to avoid 2280 form factor due to probable overheating. Have you experienced this after you part 2 video. I am asking because the samsung is relatively cheap and the write/read speeds are faster than in the other form factors. For a user that needs essentially good storage but does not demand significantly processing power from the computer do you think this might be an issue? Thanks for your feedback. Regards

I purchaded a Sabrent Rocket (2242) with 512GB for my Macbook Pro 13" 2017. It is working. However, I'm facing the following problems: Sometimes when turnning on the Macbook, a screen with a Folder and a "?" symbol within it appears, I need to turn off with the physical button and turn it on again. Another problem is that when asking the macbook to Restart, it takes more than 1 minute to do it (black screen for a long time until the Apple Logo appears) and when it does, in the desktop an error message saying a forced restart needed to happen (or something like that). Anyone facing it?

    I searched for several newest SSDs (Gen 3 x 4, NVMe, 2242/2230), but I don't know if they work, they're [Samsung PM991], [Toshiba, BG4], [LITEON, T12] and [LITEON, T12Plus].
    I also found several old SSDs(Gen 3 x 2, NVMe, 2242/2230), they're [Samsung PM 971], [Toshiba, BG3], [Toshiba, RC100], [WD SN520], [LITEON, T11Plus], [Lenovo, X800], [Lexar, NM520], [Pioneer, SE10N], [Hynix, BC501], [EAGET, S450] and [KingSpec].
I prefer [Samsung PM991] and [Toshiba, BG4], but I don't know the compatibility problem of these SSDs to MBP.
