This game is so underrated, I feel like it gets forgotten about by the video game community on TH-cam, so it's nice to see Jirard play what was probably my second favourite game of my childhood :)
It probably has one of the best soundtracks in my childhood, to this day I still love this game. Too bad it didn't get the attention it should've gotten.

+Granixo Well what do you think about Sonic Rush Adventure? That game has pretty good reviews from what I've seen (just now when I looked it up), but I actually haven't much of the game myself.
linguicaguy It is mostly INFERIOR to the original since all the bosses are easier, going through the sea delays level progression (if you play it you will know what i mean since this one game it is not entirely linear), and MARINE THE RACOON, GODDAMN IS SHE ANNOYING, apparently Sega wanted to replace Cream from previous hand-held installments, but this!?, If you want TRY the game, you can have fun with it, but the original rush or Sonic Colors on the DS (That mostly riped the gameplay from Sonic Rush), Are much better options.
So happy to see this, albeit years after it was uploaded. I actually was brought into Sonic by this game (and watching Adventures of Sonic The Hedgehog with my little neighbour when I was a kid), I mentioned it to a friend who then showed me Sonic Adventure and the classic games. I understand there are issues with this game, but it was not terrible at all, and I don't regret the many hours I spent speedrunning it. Thanks for giving it some much needed love. Edit: Oh, and I am so happy I'm not the only one annoyed by the lack of Super Tails/Knux at the end. It's been annoying me for over a decade, and the only explanation I have is that they were too strapped for time to model and animate the super-forms of Tails and Knuckles. I know this comment will likely NEVER be seen and be buried at the bottom of an old(ish) video but DAMN I'm happy to see a video with 1.4m views point out how stupid this was. xD
He was obviously sponsored by nintendo waaaaaay before with the early copies of Nintendo games that he played and he's allowed to use game footage from them. Let's not forget that in recent months the channel was covering 90% of just Nintendo games.
Sonic Heroes is my favourite Sonic game, but I think it's because I played it casually and I only digested the fun. I do disagree with some of the things you said, but that's just a difference in opinion. With all that said, I wanted to thank you for putting the time and energy into making this video. 30mins to take apart a game and to edit and upload needs to go appreciated, so thank you again. 😄
Here’s something that would’ve been cool for anyone wanting to 100% the game: Perhaps as you beat each teams campaign with all a ranks you would unlock an alternate skin for the group. Examples: Team Sonic: Each member would resemble their classic forms. Team Dark: Shadow and Rouge Would get their primary look from Sonic Adventure 2 and Omega could resemble Gamma from Sonic Adventure. Team Rose: Amy could get her dress from Sonic CD, Big could have a FROGGY shirt, and Cream’s dress could have a different Color scheme. Team Chaotix: Each member could resemble their look from Knuckles’ Chaotix And perhaps if you got every A rank in the SUPER HARD MODE of the game, you could get a METAL SONIC skin for Sonic.
Coming back to watch this again after the Grumps just finished beating the game. I love how Jirard talks about this game so casually in contrast to Arin's absolute insanity inducing play-through.
I think that was scripted, I don’t think Arin is a button mashing retard, especially since he was forced to play a practice stage that literally explains everything to him.
Yeah, to me , the Gamecube version looks like a broken glitchfest. (ppl only do speedruns with that version because of this) My PS2 version is only laggy now(the loading screen) because of all the scratches on it from playing it so much. -
Markell Hawthorne Dude, I'm not. And i'm glad I'm not. Shit, idk if my PS2 version was the only blessed copy i had of the game, but i had no problems or framerate issues as a kid. Or when i continued to play it as I got older. SMooth gameplay. Bcuz I play games like a normal person, but whatever you say dude. If gamecube worked for u guys, great. I'm just saying MY personal copy hasn't had any problems until now, cuz the Cd looks like a scratching post now. (and those speedrun glitches ppl do aren't possible on my PS2 copy. Like changing character mid air or whatever.) -
+The Official Inkwell Glitchy triangle dash and railsliding bits? I never bothered to get past that bit. Remember how the controls used to start double tapping automatically, but *only* on the later levels? That was a genius design.
Before video: Yes. This is the best Christmas gift ever! Thanks Jirard. During the video (after Jirard said fall during the intro): Please don't do this to me. Please don't do this to me Jirard. After Rating: Really? Plook at it? This deserves at least a Play it. Also, was that Bowser's shell at the very end? The reason why I made this comment is because this is one of my all-time favorite games. I wanted to explain what I felt during the video. However, I wasn't as heartbroken as I thought I was going to be at the end. In fact, I wasn't. Can't wait for next week though as my Final Exams will be done and I'll end my day with another episode of The Completionist.
Also, about the very beginning of the video, STOP TORTURING YOURSELF BY COMPLETING GAMES!!!!!!!!!! Not that I hate Xenoblade, in fact, I have the Wii version and it's awesome. But come on Jirard, can't you take a break for once? I'm surprised that you didn't have an anxiety attack on Super Mario Galaxy 2, but completing Xenoblade 100% is going to take a much longer time that that and Super Metroid combined. Chuggaaconroy did his let's play on that for over a year. A YEAR!!!!!! I know some of that was due to illness, but it could also happen to you man. Also if and when the review comes out next year, please do it with Chuggaaconroy as his fans and yours are asking for it. You collabed with Jon so why not Emile.
+Metaboss Chuggaa also filmed everything he did and basically provided a detailed walkthrough of the game. He was also laid up for several months due to illness otherwise the series would have completed faster. Keep in mind that Jirard only has to produce one video on the game. Emile did one video a day detailing bits of the game until it was done. A 100% walkthrough of the game is around 150 hours worth of work, probably significantly less if you look up a guide and have a general idea of what you're doing (which Jirard regularly does.) Streaming that for 3-4 hours a day, it would take him maybe 3 months to finish the game.
I admire Sonic Team's constant striving for creativity, but I hate how it comes at the expense of refinement. Why not stay with a formula fans like for more than just one game or two?
+Relytia Well between Unleashed and Generations, they started creating a refined formula and many people considered that point to be an upswing for the franchise, but then Lost World and Sonic Boom happened. (Although, to Lost World's credit, it had a lot of good ideas going for it, like the parkour system, in particular.)
+bsharpmajorscale If the last Sonic game was Sonic Adventure 8, sure, but they don't ever go beyond one or two in a given style and even then there are big differences. SA1 and SA2 have a lot of differences and so do Colors and Generations.
+Trevor Meikle Yeah, I agree. Colors and Generations restored faith and cleansed the pallette. I would've loved to see it expanded on further. I liked Lost World though.
Man, I completed this game hoping I could unlock a chao garden. Such a shame they removed that feature from the series. So much disappointment when I saw the hidden menu option was Super Hard mode instead.
This game was a huge part of my childhood. I agree with all these flaws but I can't help but love the game because of the special nostalgia is has from me. I was humming the theme song to my head even before it started playing in the video.
Shadow the Hedgehog was great. I especially liked all the levels you got to play, despite being buggy as hell and a few bad levels here and there its a fun ride.
My main gripe as a kid was that for some reason, i could never seem to beat *any* of the endings. Except like, the pure neutral path. Like the ending with the invasion and you're suppose to destroy all the bombs, i could never find the last bomb...
Sonic Heroes is my favourite game of all time as of now. A guilty pleasure in many aspects, but man do I love the concept. It is a game that is not very easy to master, but is extremely rewarding when you do learn the flaws and work around them. And, oddly enough, it is like rinding a bike: you never forget how to play this game, and you constantly get better at it. I have played quite a lot, never reached Hard Mode yet (but working toward it ;) ), and to this day I still find some hidden secrets in some stages, and understand some not hammered in mechanics (you actually learned me that Thunder Shoot could aim at rings, I'll need to check that). Of all its flaws, I think the only ones I just can't just ignore are the stupidly difficult to aim at Egg Hammer head when they are down, and the fact touching ennemies you paralysed/froze in time/brought down still damages you just as if you were taking a massive hammer swing in your face (a legacy of old platformers I still fing annoying). A part from that... It is rich enough to still feel fresh. Especially with Team Chaotix, as their challenges will make you explore parts of the stages you would have never found otherwise. To me, Sonic Heroes is the reference SEGA should follow in term of balance between exploration and high speed sections. And it is such a shae it is not on Steam. That is the first game that I actually wanted to complete 100% and I have no way to show that to my 4 Steam friends. T-T
First Sonic game I ever played on my old PS2 back when I was 9. Rented it all the time from Blockbuster. Never knew that version was the worst version haha.
Sonic Heroes felt very slippery but it was the last one I enjoyed. That slippery control feeling continued into Shadow the Hedgehog, and with everything else that game added it ended up just being a huge disappointment overall for little 12 year old me. Then 06 sucked hard, haven't really been back into the series since.
+Brad Laws I highly recommend generations. I think it's the best in the newer sonic games. Also colors wasn't bad, but still think generations is better.
+Zed Shrooms It works surprisingly well but switching rails as anyone but flying characters is not perfect yet. (actually, that's something Shadow the Hedgehog did very well). The music is awesome in those stages too!
Why does NO ONE get the ability of Sonic Teams team blast? When you use it, as the team blast cooldown is going, if you're sonic, you can jump and press the action button to do a homing attack that represents the Team Blast on every enemy around you.
Me: *clicks on a Sonic video* Jirard immediatly: I have a major announcement- Me: *pauses and uses every bone in my body to not say it...* Me: SHADOW THE HEDGEHOG IS A-
And how what the characters say feel like it fits with the music Heck, it's like with RTS's ... You can quote everything they say, like nappa and super kami guru and raichu and any fucking abridged character But their just WORTHLESS CONSUMER MODELS!
+niks... It was weird but I liked it too, I drew fanart of the girl echidna :P But when I tried to pick the game back up later I had no idea how to play it at all...
This game was fucking awesome. I have fond memeories playing this on my original xbox. When I would come home from school, I would go straight to playing this fucking game for hours. I think this game was getter than the sonic adventure games. In fact, i think this is the best 3D sonic came that has come out to date, better than sonic unleashed and WAAAAAAAAAY better than sonic boom. I feel like they should have kept following thus formula, it was so action packed and it was a translation from the 2D games.
hi, just wanted to say that I really love your videos and I appreciate how much effort you put in them. There's a snarky comment about game grumps somewhere in my head but hey, they're a different kind of channel. I still can't believe you completed 06, that is damn heroic! And even this game, it looks broken! Best of luck, keep doing what you do and you have my subscription!
Sonic Heroes is my favourite childhood game ever! (I got the PS2 version :/) My game broke recently and I decided to order another PS2 copy (To preserve all my memories the way they were.) And man, playing it now I realize how this game is mechanically near as awful as '06, but I still love it just because 6 year old me could not get enough of Sonic and his friends. Thanks for opening my eyes to the whole world of Sonic Heroes. A game I will never forget due to my childhood free time spent glued to my PS2 and on Sonic Heroes. When that game broke, I was quite upset. My childhood in circular form had perished. (But thank goodness for Amazon, that website is a life saver.) For the first time, I made it to the Final Boss with a team (Rose obviously) but I still have a lot more to get out of the game that started my love for the Blue Blur.
horizcyn I also had the ps2 version and had no clue how superior the GameCube version was. I remember I got about half way through Team Rose (I was bad at video games as a 10 year old, don't judge me) and the sound I'm every cutscene just wouldn't play from then on, even for the other teams. Very bizarre but I have a lot of fond memories of this game as a kid. Pretty sure I wouldn't feel the same about it today, but those good memories will always remain.
+BlooperBro Me too. I think this game deserves love but also needs to seen for it's not quite perfect aspects. I still Love this game to death despite and because of that.
All Sonic games always had a slow down and stop moments, or did everyone forgotten that? like puzzle platforming, or platforming in water trying to avoid from drowning, and etc etc. Maybe Sonic should be like Quick-Silver from the X-men movies, (or have gimmick like it) seeing it in his view, as everything around him slows down.
Compared to other games it’s much slower especially if you want an a rank in the really drawn out levels and you have to be 10x more careful (or just use team rose) if you want to get a chaos emerald which is probably one of the worst ways to get them in the series
Most of the footage I've seen in this video were really stupid mistakes made by the player... I played Sonic Heroes on the Gamecube hundreds of times and never *once* had any problems with the controls or the gameplay.
It was a problem. Sometimes when rail hopping normally, I just hop off completely. And also fell through the floors sometimes. And had multiple other glitches. You either just missed the glitches and problems or got incredibly lucky.
Oh man... Sonic Heroes. I remember this game, it was my very first Sonic game ever and I fell in love with it. I was only like 9 or 10 at the time. We were living with my grandparents at the time and I remember playing it down in the carpeted half-basement. I also remember wanting to be Sonic or have superspeed or something so badly that I sprinted through the little neighborhood my grandfolks lived in to try and get superspeed. of course, all I did was inflict pain on myself. I distinctly remember feeling like a stake was being driven through my chest, panting, almost collapsing. Bad idea stupid, stupid little me. That "SONIC HEROOOOOOES" stayed in the back of my mind for the next half decade. I still have fond memories of it but I also haven't played it since then. For some stupid reason I chose to play Team Rose first, and my brother loved Team Chaotix the most.
I was never able to beat the Metropolis level for team Chaotic. There was always 1 enemy I could *NEVER* find. I looped through that level 10 times, and I never found it.
@@QueenOfPessimism here's a reply 2 years later, lol. But if you haven't figured it out yet, you're supposed to control Espio. When you jump and do a tornado attack as him, he also uses his chameleon ability and turns invisible. Charmy and Vector just stand still while you move on ahead alone and the enemies cannot see you.
Sonic Heroes is better than both the Adventure games combined in my opinion. Never understood the hate for it. It's the second best 3D Sonic game. Generations is number 1 without a doubt.
+Wrench Man The hate comes from the sheer repetetiveness of it, every team playing through every level, etc. etc. and you -have- to do it and collect the emeralds for last story to actually complete just the story. It's a particular hell of repetition for completionists who have even more to do. Does this mean the gameplay itself is bad, or the ideas behind it? No. It was just executed TERRIBLY, and there were better ways for them to handle it. Such as dividing up the levels so only certain teams played certain levels period for example. Either way, It's just how they executed the division of teams and levels.
+Phantom Drags What are you talking about... How did I waste money if the game I bought turned out to be my favourite of all time? Xenoblade X is not Xenoblade chronicles, it's a different game.
Right? The gameplay isn’t awkward at all, if you get used to the movement then you can go as fast as you want. You can’t rush it, despite it being a Sonic game
I feel like when people talk about the repetitiveness, it makes it seem like the played the game in one sitting. It probably wouldn't be as repetitive if you waited before playing a new team. Also, it seemed like you were confused with Team Rose's story. I think it's simple and makes sense. Metal Sonic needed Froggy and Chocola because Froggy was once possessed by Chaos, and Chaos is a mutated Chao, so that's where he got it's data. And not trying to use lame excuses or anything, but Jirard, it seemed like you weren't very good at this game. There a lot of face palm moments, especially in regards to rail switching, it really is difficult. But I mean, I do seem to adapt to controls A LOT quicker then most people, so that might be why. Agree with you on the music though, it's great. And I'd like to explain the reasoning behind the "super bubbles". It's been officially stated that Tails can only use the Super Emeralds, and Knuckles can only utilize the Master Emerald.
Alright you snob bitch, the rail switching isn't hard, you push a direction and jump button, yeah. But it send you flying 30% of the time. It isn't matter of difficulty, it's a matter of luck.
From what I remember in order to not fly off of rails you had to do it on straight ways not turns. And if you suck at rails try the flight formation so you can fly back if you fly off.
This is actually very nostalgic for me as I had it as a kid... Granted I had the ps2 version because at the time, I didn't have the gamecube yet. I didn't notice that it was the poor man's version.. but then again I was a kid and things were more likely going to fly by my head back then, especially since I didn't have the gamecube version to compare it to.
Bro. I played this game as a child and I didn't care about the recycled stages. This is one of the best sonic games ever. It is the best sonic game ever. It's a master piece
btw, I don't know if this was on purpose or not but when you do team blast with sonic and then using sonics tornado attack before the gauge goes back to zero, you'll do your team blast again.
@@lucuador1992 You're probably thinking of the final boss, Egg Emperor, with his constant: "TAKE THIS! TAKE THIS! TAKE THIS! TAKE THIS! HA HA HA! CHAAAAARGE!" over and over during the battle.
25:48 - If you think about it, Hyper Knuckles and Super Tails (for the record, there's no "Hyper" Tails) can only be accessed when you have all the SUPER Emeralds. They only have all the CHAOS Emeralds.
My guess is that all the Chaos power went to Sonic. He used part of it to power up the other two but only slightly. This is why there's no Super Knuckles either
@@michaelwilliams7140 That can't be right. If you follow theough the original Sonic lore, Tails and Knuckles require you to collect the Super Emeralds in order to unlock and transform into Super Tails and Hyper Knuckles respectively. Since all they have are the Chaos Emeralds, the only one transforming is Sonic because all he needs to transform are the Chaos Emeralds.
@@michaelwilliams7140 There was never a "Super Knuckles". There's only Hyper Knuckles. If you Google for Super Knuckles they'll always show Hyper Knuckles.
THIS GAME IS PURE NOSTALGIA FOR ME. i miss the days of sitting there with my mom and dad playing sonic heroes :( realy wish i could relive it over and over :(💙
I love Sonic Heroes, easily my top 5 Sonic Games and to be completely honest here, I know it's unpopular opinion but Heroes > Colors and Generations combined.
Just watched this and it reaffirms why I watch your videos: almost beat for beat, you and I had the same reactions to this game. Glad to know I'm not missing ANYTHING of significance by not going back and completing it; beating Metal Overlord was QUITE enough for me.
Honestly this was and still is my favorite sonic game. Also one of my favorite games of all time. Everyones MAIN gripe with this game are the controls. Which honestly arent as bad. Yeah youll get that eventual mega slip off the stage but its not all the time. The team gameplay style is truthfully the best gameplay style. Better than the adventure style imo. The music in this game is so damn nice and lovely. Its my favorite OST from a game period. I actually spent the time to complete this game in its entirety. It took me a full week of nothing but this game and i had a blast every step of the way. The fact that i got a sense of challenge while also genuinly enjoying myself, which i cant say i feel for a lot of games, is something so sacred and i love it. The only problem i really have with this game are the special stages. Though i didnt have THAT hard of a time, they did become a bit unstable for me. But regardless this game honestly makes me happy. A 10/10 game to me.
+Homer sams for a game that came out in 2003 and holding it up to todays standards yea it fails in alot of ways. But for its time i say it was a fun game.
20:54-21:02 That's...Literally the Sonic design philosophy. You can go fast at times, but occasionally you need to take a moment to platform. Those with more skill and knowledge of a stage will know how to go fast more often, but that's how it works.
+300fusionfall I'd probably give it a Finiplay it, myself. I should pull my Cube out of mothballs and take another stab at collecting the rest of the Chaos emeralds so I can finally put Neo Metal Sonic to bed.
+300fusionfall I think he likes the game, but it's not something that you'd necessarily encourage someone to complete, especially if they haven't played a Sonic game before. I mean, really playing Team Sonic gives you a full taste of the game, everything else is just bonus content and artificial replay value (even if it's still fun to have this variation).
i am a little late for this but loved this review, you did not just say its trash blah blah, you did it justice for what it was, a fun time and not to be taken seriously :3
So much nostalgia. I loved this game. By the way, IIRC as Espio you could go invisible and become undetectable, which felt incredible as a kid. I thought that was missing in the video.
I'm gonna be honest. From watching you play this I can wholeheartedly say that you are not good at this game. That isn't the game's fault. At least at the time you recorded this.
This game gives me so much nostalgia. This was my favorite game for so long when I was little.

+mario64remix well he is playing it on a Nintendo console.
He was obviously sponsored by nintendo waaaaaay before with the early copies of Nintendo games that he played and he's allowed to use game footage from them. Let's not forget that in recent months the channel was covering 90% of just Nintendo games.
+GabePlaysGames I knew someone was going to say that :)
yay I'm in your prophecy
Sonic Heroes is my favourite Sonic game, but I think it's because I played it casually and I only digested the fun.
I do disagree with some of the things you said, but that's just a difference in opinion.
With all that said, I wanted to thank you for putting the time and energy into making this video. 30mins to take apart a game and to edit and upload needs to go appreciated, so thank you again. 😄
Here’s something that would’ve been cool for anyone wanting to 100% the game:
Perhaps as you beat each teams campaign with all a ranks you would unlock an alternate skin for the group. Examples:
Team Sonic: Each member would resemble their classic forms.
Team Chaotix: Each member could resemble their look from Knuckles’ Chaotix
And perhaps if you got every A rank in the SUPER HARD MODE of the game, you could get a METAL SONIC skin for Sonic.
Too bad that doesn’t exist, also pixeled sonic models in a 3D platform would have looked incredibly off.
Well, again, ARIN SUCKS AT VIDEO GAMES!!!!
I had the PS2 version and I never had framerate issues.
same here.
Yeah, to me , the Gamecube version looks like a broken glitchfest. (ppl only do speedruns with that version because of this)
My PS2 version is only laggy now(the loading screen) because of all the scratches on it from playing it so much. -
+Aaren YASS I hope you're joking. The Gamecube version is the best one.

Do you remember how much a pain in the ass Haunted Mansion was with Team Sonic?
+The Official Inkwell Glitchy triangle dash and railsliding bits? I never bothered to get past that bit.
Remember how the controls used to start double tapping automatically, but *only* on the later levels? That was a genius design.
+Daniel Reale sonic heroes is the first sonic game i played, so i say it's the best!
+The Official Inkwell Oh god, please don't remind me of that horror of a level.
+shunkwugga 100%ing xenoblade is a HUGE undertaking but, I think he can do it, he definately can
HEY LOO, ESSSONIHH
I admire Sonic Team's constant striving for creativity, but I hate how it comes at the expense of refinement. Why not stay with a formula fans like for more than just one game or two?
+Relytia Because then everyone will complain that they're just doing the same thing over and over again.
+Trevor Meikle Remember, Sonic Boom was developed by someone else.
Try the Sonic Advance 3 on the GBA. There isn't much to the garden itself, but finding them is fun.
It actually has a semi-functioning chao garden in the code, odd fact.
I can't decide whether this comment is sarcasm, or isn't.

God, the nostalgia is real, especially the music.
This game was a huge part of my childhood. I agree with all these flaws but I can't help but love the game because of the special nostalgia is has from me. I was humming the theme song to my head even before it started playing in the video.
I love sonic heroes....
And I LIKED shadow the hedgehog
....THERE
Shadow the Hedgehog was great. I especially liked all the levels you got to play, despite being buggy as hell and a few bad levels here and there its a fun ride.
Same here he's my fav
My main gripe as a kid was that for some reason, i could never seem to beat *any* of the endings. Except like, the pure neutral path. Like the ending with the invasion and you're suppose to destroy all the bombs, i could never find the last bomb...
Those games did not hold up very well
Smitten Werbenjagermanjensen I think Hero’s did at least
AfroNinja360 it was my first game too😍 I think I was 4 or something when I first played it
See thats the thing, it literally isnt the worst one.
+Brad Laws If you want to get back into the series, I recommend Sonic Generations, Colors, or really any of the handheld ones other than Sonic Boom.
sonic unleashed, colors and generations are great 😃
+SegaChris5 half of unleashed anyway
+Brad Laws I highly recommend generations. I think it's the best in the newer sonic games. Also colors wasn't bad, but still think generations is better.
Colors is my personal favorite sonic game ever but i can see why people say generations is better
Imagine if this got a remake for the Switch! That would be insane!
I would LOVE to have gamecube games on switch
I need that
Sega won't ever port Sonic Generations and Unleashed to the switch, so that's not happening
@ace's wrld I don’t get why PlayStation does PlayStation now aka Garbage now
17:09 "Extended Grinding Sequences"
Doesn't sound to fun
Too*
Eh... You can't move around as much, and switching rails is pretty damn risky....
But hey, at least you're goin fast....
+Zed Shrooms It works surprisingly well but switching rails as anyone but flying characters is not perfect yet. (actually, that's something Shadow the Hedgehog did very well). The music is awesome in those stages too!
+Zed Shrooms It does to me... (͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
When I said extended grinding sequences I was referencing "grinding" as in the process or engaging in repetitive tasks.
I know this is over a year old, but...

Why does NO ONE get the ability of Sonic Teams team blast? When you use it, as the team blast cooldown is going, if you're sonic, you can jump and press the action button to do a homing attack that represents the Team Blast on every enemy around you.
I just discovered this a few years ago, and I had this game only a couple years after release.
It's the light speed attack from SA1 and 2 except hella buffed
Oh, I thought that was a glitch

Personally I freaking love the soundtrack to Sonic Heroes, Its one of the reasons I actually really digged this games as a kid.
Same, the SA games and Sonic Heroes have one of the best soundtracks imo, it pretty much defined my childhood.
And how what the characters say feel like it fits with the music
Heck, it's like with RTS's ...
You can quote everything they say, like nappa and super kami guru and raichu and any fucking abridged character
But their just WORTHLESS CONSUMER MODELS!
+Javier Alers Don't kill me PLZ... :c
But i prefer Shadow The Hedgehog's (Game) Soundtrack. :)
+Granixo Respect. I do think that game had a pretty good intro theme. It was weird game now that I think about it lol.
You should really complete Sonic RPG the Dark Brotherhood. It's that weird RPG Sonic on the Nintendo DS, but I liked it!

Fuck you autocorrect
Pikachu No.025 lol anyway sonic heroes is a really awesome the levels are fun and challenging but my favorite level final fortress from every team
hi, just wanted to say that I really love your videos and I appreciate how much effort you put in them.
I love this game so much...
It was my childhood....
I stopped breathing to watch this review.

Yes.
+BlooperBro Do you need to go into surgery?
+BlooperBro Me too. I think this game deserves love but also needs to seen for it's not quite perfect aspects. I still Love this game to death despite and because of that.
All Sonic games always had a slow down and stop moments,
or did everyone forgotten that?
like puzzle platforming, or platforming in water trying to avoid from drowning, and etc etc.
Maybe Sonic should be like Quick-Silver from the X-men movies,
(or have gimmick like it)
seeing it in his view, as everything around him slows down.
The Quick-Silver gimmick is chaos control but they only gave that to Team Dark. It's also a feature in the last story of Sonic Adventure 2.
Honestly the level design is my favorite aspect of the game.
Compared to other games it’s much slower especially if you want an a rank in the really drawn out levels and you have to be 10x more careful (or just use team rose) if you want to get a chaos emerald which is probably one of the worst ways to get them in the series
I'm early! Better make a joke...

Seregios with a Moustache Gg on being the fastest reply I've gotten.
You mean like this?
Most of the footage I've seen in this video were really stupid mistakes made by the player... I played Sonic Heroes on the Gamecube hundreds of times and never *once* had any problems with the controls or the gameplay.
Burraku Dusk i had the ps2 version and i only beat team rose and sonic story its somewhat hard😂😂
Brian Alleyne team rose is the easiest just so ya know
Burraku Dusk you forgot about the whole rail hopping problem... curse you rail hopping!
Basketbomber Slackingson
I've never had a problem with the rail hopping? I wasn't aware that there was some kind of problem with it.
It was a problem. Sometimes when rail hopping normally, I just hop off completely. And also fell through the floors sometimes. And had multiple other glitches. You either just missed the glitches and problems or got incredibly lucky.
I like the characters actually acknowledging their games don't happen in voids. Makes the entire game feel more alive.
The soundtrack/music for casino park was lit no doubt
Best Sonic Game Ever Period.
I love you for looking at my favorite Sonic game EVER.
I was never able to beat the Metropolis level for team Chaotic. There was always 1 enemy I could *NEVER* find. I looped through that level 10 times, and I never found it.
ReptillianStrike i couldn’t figure out how to not alert the frogs in Frog Forest😭
"It opens With Sonic parkouring his way through a Dragon Ball Z landscape"
I Lost It
Sonic Heroes is better than both the Adventure games combined in my opinion.
Never understood the hate for it. It's the second best 3D Sonic game. Generations is number 1 without a doubt.
+Wrench Man the adventure games are so buggy its not even funny somehow i died multiple times because i fell through a loop
+herogeddon Did you also pull an Arin and make the screen fuck up when you fell?
The Sonic Adventure games were experiments for Sonic going to 3D I don't think Sonic Heroes perfected it
+Wrench Man The hate comes from the sheer repetetiveness of it, every team playing through every level, etc. etc. and you -have- to do it and collect the emeralds for last story to actually complete just the story.
SpectralRoses Yeah I see your point. I still think it's fun if you play casually
I'm ashamed I never unlocked the last story
You should. It's literally the best part of the game
I never even beat the game

+Ginger Dwarf Xenogears and Xenosaga?
Xenoblade X is better. You poor soul. Sucks that you couldn't save 270 bucks.
+Phantom Drags What are you talking about... How did I waste money if the game I bought turned out to be my favourite of all time? Xenoblade X is not Xenoblade chronicles, it's a different game.
+Phantom Drags 270 bucks?
+Phantom Drags XenoBlade chronicles has better story than X :P. but gameplay wise Xenoblade X is the best.
20:14
Ok, that one was your own fault dude.
Right? The gameplay isn’t awkward at all, if you get used to the movement then you can go as fast as you want. You can’t rush it, despite it being a Sonic game
@@ZackFireX the gameplay is awkward, but that clip was his mistake
I actually love Sonic Heroes. It was my first true introduction to the Sonic main series. First time I played with them was Sonic Championship.
I meant to to say the rail switching is NOT difficult. Oops.
And if you suck at rails try the flight formation so you can fly back if you fly off.
fly formation
Also, if you use Tails and you do the Thundershoot
you should complete Shadow the Hedgehog
+Exile The Hedgehog I feel like the only bad level in the game (The ARK) would ruin the tone of the review.
true
+Exile The Hedgehog That would take so long, because every possible combination has a different ending.

We get it, Sonic team. You made a hot bat.
Just watched this and it reaffirms why I watch your videos: almost beat for beat, you and I had the same reactions to this game. Glad to know I'm not missing ANYTHING of significance by not going back and completing it; beating Metal Overlord was QUITE enough for me.
I remember playing this, but then I got to the frog jungle level.

Favorite 3D sonic game
PS: I haven’t played the adventure games
I like sonic heroes too! Still do, for some reason, maybe because it brings me back to the past of my childhood

+Homer sams hurray my first internet troll, was wondering when I would encounter one.
+RicKo5896 you ain't seen nothing. But it doesn't change the fact that this game gives crack whores a run for its money.
+Homer sams for a game that came out in 2003 and holding it up to todays standards yea it fails in alot of ways. But for its time i say it was a fun game.
True. It was one of the three games I inherited along with my cousin's gamecube.
20:54-21:02 That's...Literally the Sonic design philosophy.
You can go fast at times, but occasionally you need to take a moment to platform. Those with more skill and knowledge of a stage will know how to go fast more often, but that's how it works.
Exactly. He critizies a game when he doesn't even know how Sonic games work at all.
Not going to lie, this is my favorite Sonic Game :)
+Jimmy7780 You should play sonic generations. Also that was first sonic game.
+cow pony My*
cow pony I have Played Sonic Generations though
Jimmy7780 I bet I can beat green hill z one faster than you XD
+cow pony nope, no you won´t
The fuck? You said its fun etc. and then you gave the game a Plook? I was expecting at least a finish it. Its not that bad of a game.
+300fusionfall Finish would imply playing through all four Teams and getting the final boss, and that's frankly way too tedious...
***** Well in my opinion its worth it.
+300fusionfall I'd probably give it a Finiplay it, myself. I should pull my Cube out of mothballs and take another stab at collecting the rest of the Chaos emeralds so I can finally put Neo Metal Sonic to bed.
PCachu Same. At most, I would play the Amy stages and then throw in a completed save to jump to the final boss.
Ultimate unlock for sonic heroes
How bout oh I don't know
THE ABILLITY TO USE SUPER TEAMS
Gosh freaken damnit
"The game is more stable on the Gamecube"
*rings fall through the floor* 12:19
Rings always go off screen and lose collision when dropped,it is the games way of saying: *fuck you go get the other ones*
So much nostalgia. I loved this game. By the way, IIRC as Espio you could go invisible and become undetectable, which felt incredible as a kid. I thought that was missing in the video.
people can crap on this game all they want, that soundtrack is unparalleled
OMG! this is my childhood. it was the first game i ever owned
and one more thing... #Team Rose. but if i have to choose between sonic and dark, i`ll go #teamsonic
and i had it on the original xbox :)
i was joking with the rose thing BTW. i should stop typing on my own comments
+Isak Schrewelius yes you should
I remember doing my own Completionist playthrough when I was much younger! Metal Overlord was so rewarding to beat!
I'm gonna be honest. From watching you play this I can wholeheartedly say that you are not good at this game. That isn't the game's fault.
At least at the time you recorded this.
