Hi, dear maha ma'am, I just viewed your video on you-tube sudden and after watching 2 mints, I was thankful to my Allah Almighty that I found your channel starting to learn (First time in my life)Arabic in this beautiful, convenient, easy and understandable pronunciation with clear English and Arabic voice ...Mashkor to you dear and respected ma'am. Muntaser from Pakistan working in Dubai.
When you explain this expressions is almost as if you were explaining Spanish expressions. In Spanish we get the expression " ojala' " from " inshaAllah", although in Spanish it means "I wish/desire [it] happens ". However, depending where and when you where born, like myself, we say a lot "Si Dios lo permite" = "If so Gods wills". Definite influence of the Arabic in Spanish.
Interesting that the opposite sentence ("inshallah" - I've no idea if it's correctly written/transliterated) is basically the same in Portuguese and Spanish ("Oxalá" and "Ojalá"), although in Portuguese we say "Deus queira" (~ "let's hope God wants it") just as frequently or maybe more (depending on the region)
Qadar also means fate or destiny or something that has been preordained by Allah. So in this usage it can also mean to hope that such a thing hasn't been destined or ordained to happen.
@LearnArabicwithMaha ...just came across an instagram meme on yajuj and majuj; suddenly i thought "god forbid" then i found exactly this video - a.m.a.z.i.n.g.! 👏👏👏 شكر *btw, most of the philippine languages (~100) generally follow the V-S-O arrangement, so it's actually helping me understand (at least) the short sentences in arabic
Halo Maam Maha,, if u only know am long time student of yours via online only this youtube,,and reallly your rigth because i used those things i learned here in my work with arab clients really important the pronunciations. But walla your so very kind and smart teacher.Thank you so much, always watching here😉😉😉
Great lesson as always and thank you for bringing up this interesting point because although I’m Christian I say for example “uhumdelah” sorry I don’t know how to write it lol and maahsalama and I shah Allah. And I say this because we must all be referring to the same God since we believe in one God and these three religions are all Abrahmic Religions
Havent you ever heard the 2 first expressions before? Weird for someone living in the Maghreb or anywhere of the arab world for that matter, we may not use many phrases and expressions used in the middle east but we certainly heard them on TV or read them. I mean one has to not speak Arabic at all or never read it before to never have heard of some very basic and frequently used words like the first 2 expressions.
mo.elmoro yes I have heard all 4 of them but in Tunisia and with my sister in law's who are from Morocco, I hear more often expressions 3 and 4. And I discovered expressions 1and 2 because I heard them too little times that I did not know they meant God forbid.
In Malaysia we use to say Nau jubila min jalek for LA SAMAH ALLAH OR LA QADDAR ALLAH . what do you think Mahayakob about our expression.. Correct or not correct according to the Arabic language/ expression?? Please tell me. Sukran jazelan.
And for Western and or non Muslim people, this should be understood as "I hope so". The literal translation for us sounds like the person saying it has desolved responsibility on to God which is very frustrating and not intended to be that way.

How are you Maha? I apologize in advance for asking a crazy question. I am wanting to learn Arabic and will study modern standard first, or in middle of a dialect. I am trying to pick a dialect. Would Levantine Arabic alphabet and language be the same as learning the Palestinian dialect?
@@camillakhayat7726 Thank you for your response. How are you? What do you think would be the to learn along with MSA? What would to be best understood by Palestinians, Jordanians, Lebanese, and Iraqis?
hypno smilez I think MSA alongside Lebanese would be good because most people understand Lebanese because of TV. But it is quite a different dialect, with pronunciations of certain letters different even from Palestinian or Jordanian. It’s a much more gentle sounding language. I think Iraqis would understand any of the other 3, so I wouldn’t pick Iraqi.
Interesting that "la" means "no" or "not". In maltese "le" means "no" -the only word I remember from maltese.
