I would consider a shielding for belts and chains, to keep them protected from eventual damage, and yourself protected from shrapnel in the remote hypotesis it breaks. But man, this kind of homemade contaptions are absolutely fantastic, especially when they are useful! Excellent work !
The bolt heads as dog clutches for engaging the low power V belt (PTO i guess is the best word here) is quite nice but I'd be worried about them shearing off or grinding down to nothing with rapid use. How have they been so far although I do know that due to the low speed of this engine you don't have to much of a sudden engagement (good luck trying that on a modern engine with their high rpm power)
Rick...this is a very interesting video. Thanks for posting it......... In the very front, the sliding lovejoy arrangement, where did that come from? I would love to obtain one of those for an upcoming ice cream project.
I really like this little tractor. What a great way to show off the old engine.
Fantastic idea and endless fun, I have a six horse Fairbanks in the shed needing work, thanks again and good luck. From UK.😎👍
Quite the fair ol' tractor you've built there. Powering it with the hit'n miss is a neat idea. Should last through a few generations. Good job.
Thanks for the kind comment. Later, Rick.
@@RickTaylorpopnstart you're welcome. =)
That was amazingly impressive, great great job!
Thank you for the kind comment. Regards, Rick.

At an earlier time you would have made a great pioneer, the ingenuity is outstanding well done sir impressive 🏆🏆🏆🏆

Great job Rick, love the style Sir
I have heard of Steam punk but I think this guy just single handedly created FARM PUNK. Awesome work!!!
And not a CNC or Laser cutter in sight ! Fantastic.
Puts a bit of hobby fun into the garden chores. (Like)
No hurry engineering, smooth as a harley.
Just Love It
Some serious backyard engineering...the Best Kind
Wonderful old chuffer with tons of personality 👍
On site safety , are going to love you .
Pulls fkin logs without breaking a sweet at 1mph.... thats some serious torque right there, cool!
Yes sir, it's all about the gearing. Thanks for your positive comment. Regards, Rick.
This is great! I'm thinking of doing something similar with an old Lister diesel engine this summer!
Love the ladder setup.
Greate way to move and display your engine that's cool works well
Thank you for your interest and the positive remark
That was pretty cool!
I moved some logs, now the days over.
Also good as a tea-cooker or waterboiler for shower and more.
Very creative o the clutch
Thanks for the kind comment. Later, RT.
lots of time in the making ... 2 hp wow !!!!!!
That's really cool!
Little tractor gets around pretty good. Barely broken in...
Thanks. I enjoy these old engines and coming up with ways to watch them work.

I put a bit of moly grease on them. If they ever get worn I'll just back 'em out to replace them. Thanks for the kind comment and interest.
@@RickTaylorpopnstart Replying after a year that's dedication i admire. Glad to see that you have a plan and it's working well for you.
Great job, it will have tons of torque, not a fast tractor but pull like a bastard.
what would this engine be for originally? seems too underpowered for use in a tractor. would it be for pumping or generating power?
it needs to go slow to pull heavy stuff and position the trailer to cut tree limbs.
Nice work! :)
Thanks for the kind remark and interest. later, rt.
You're welcome. :)
Where does the mower deck hook up? ;-)
hahaha...good one!

I'm a Tool and Die maker. I made it on lathe. Thank you for your interest and positive comment. Later, RT.
hm nice work. and i also need to do something like this
Very cool
Thank you. Later, RT.
that enormous stationary engine needs behind the operator, for a zero turn mower. Not a garden tractor, but a zero turn mower is bettah
Anytime something looks like it can take off a finger or two if you don't know what your doing, gets👍👍.
Dangx ive had this idea for a little while, an engine popped up for sale near me for 300 bucks. Didnt get it thoigh, it sold it a few hours.
I love it
Fake fake, thats not an OEM machine....YOU built it ! Can I have one too 😁 Excellent !
all you need is access to a machine shop and a little creativity. thanks for your interest and positive remark. later, rt.
