- Today, Umair comes to the Regal Gentleman Studio to get 2.5 years of growth "cut off." He wanted a HUGE transformation to go from long hair to a short haircut with length on top and a fade on the back and sides.

As much as I hated to see that beautiful thick head of hair go, and as much as I hate skin fades, this really looks good on the client and he got what he asked for. Awesome work Dan!

As a 57 year old guy who has been growing my hair out for the first time for the past 2 1/2 years I have to say I almost had a heart attack when you made that first cut and cut off all of that beautiful hair. But the cut turned out great and you can definitely see how happy he was from that big smile on his face. Dan always does just what his client's ask and as always a job well done.
It doesn’t really matter what people think is better the client asked for a skin fade so Dan gave him that it suits him well and it was done by one of the best
Loved the long hair! But when you want a transformation it’s hard to stop. Can always tell when someone is done with it and Umair definitely was. He’d thought about it for 5 months! Thanks!!

I do not like fades on any guy. The high and tight are the worst. Can’t really explain why, but if a man is walking towards me, and I see that he has fades, immediately, I find him unattractive. In this case, I think his side should’ve been left longer and sideburns kept as they were. Of course the back should’ve stayed longer as well. These kind of cuts, in my opinion, of course, make a man look very unattractive. Sorry.

Another fantastic haircut from the master himself! The long hair was still a great look, but the shorter style also suited the client really well. Plus, he has a great head of hair so both styles are brilliant.
Dan, when getting a haircut for someone who has two swirls/crowns on the top of their heads (like me), should it be taken into consideration when gettin a haircut or is it not a problem?
2nd question, how long does a skin fade last? (Ive only gotten taper fades but not skin fades)
Skin fade will last you 3 days to 1 week of the fade actually showing (so haircuts every 2-4) weeks. I have thick dark hair so my fade will last very short only 3 days so I get a cut often. Go to a reputable barber and they will know how to handle your crowns (if you want a fade on the sides and keep it long on the top) Don’t go to a chain they will probably just cut your crowns off all together rather than work with them

Lol I’m exactly the opposite. Coming off from the pompadour fade I’m 1 year in letting it grow. During the process ppl said cut it now they tell me not to cut it… but sometimes I wanna cut it lol
