- A much requested full haircut tutorial (thanks for voting on the community tab). This was one of our most popular videos in 2020, and Sam said this was the best haircut he'd ever had! So here's the full haircut tutorial. He was pretty open to suggestions to Dan, other than that he wanted a short back and sides, so Dan gave him a versatile short haircut that could be worn in 3 different ways. This haircut could be worn swept to the side, down with a fringe, or up with a quiff at the front. Sam chose the option with the quiff at the front to end with.

Really nice cut. It's refreshing to see a cut with a little length on the sides and back. Seems like 9/10 cuts these days are skin fades or a disconnected slick back.
unfortunately, if I didn't get a skin fade, I'd have to be at the barber's every week. :(
because they're low maintenance and look good for awhile. most other hair styles are really high maintenance and you have to go get it trimmed all the time

I’ve been getting into hair cutting for a while now and ive only been cutting my younger brothers hair. Ive given him hair cuts a couple of times now so im a straight up beginner. Although the hair cuts ive given him aren’t horrendous, its still not close to perfect, and with this video ive learned so many simple and easy techniques that i can use the next time i cut his hair. I learn better when things are fully explained to me and this whole video your explanation were very specific and it was super easy to understand. It’s currently 2am for me but in the morning im definitely going to rewatch this video and take hella notes!

I’ve been watching these videos all day and I actually don’t feel stressed today🌹🌹🌹
These videos help me *so much* you have no idea. My and my mom have been cutting my dad's hair since about March 2020. It is a bit different every time, but the general outline is the same. Last time we cut it a tad short on the back and especially sides for him personally (like in this video), but it just means he can go a little longer with it. He definitely gives us feedback (LOL) but he's pretty happy with it all around and not a fussy "client". ;) Hairdressers and barbers have been locked down in Belgium for a long time! And if you wanted to go in the past, you needed to make an appointment and also (of course) wear a mask. But my dad found it too much hassle and we're not doing too bad, or he would go to the trouble of making that appointment. It looks a lot like the cut you did here, what we do, so this tutorial helps immensely! All your other videos (general technique) do as well, but this especially was a good one! My dad has fine hair (less dense than this gentleman, but it is still a full head of hair at age 74) and a crown in back, which has given us a bit of "what do we do with it", so thank you *so so* much! We just left that part a bit longer to keep it from sticking out. Every head of hair sure is different! And to find a precise way to cut for a specific person is difficult, which is why I generally binge watch these videos just before having to do another cut. We didn't shave dad bald yet. ;) :p So... we're good. LOL!

The stylist makes a cutting hair a science. Most hairstylists just slash and burn their way through a haircut without any thought to shape of the face, contour of the head, or the direction of hair growth.
Imagine this guy came in just expecting a regular old 10 minute hair cut 😂 little did he know he was the subject of an hour long TH-cam video 😂

Good afternoon mate. I've been watching your videos all these years, you have an amazing scissor technique, i guess you cut women's hair too. I'm a Barber from Greece, i have to say that here in Greece the majority of barbers, we don't leave so much hair on the sides of the head, because they grow fast and they bother our clients. I've noticed that in other countries such as England, Germany e.t.c people leave their hair to grow very much, this thing doesn't happen in Greece, people prefer short haircuts. Sorry for my English, if i made mistakes.

Why do you do a curved line from one side to the other getting too low on the back? It is possible to do a horizontal line parallel to the floor so to speak? I'm talking about the line where the clipper cut stops

What about nose hair, ear hair, eyebrows? Do you take care of that?
Any barber who knows his trade will take care of your ear and eyebrows without asking. The nose hair is clients job as it’s a risky business. Hope that helps.
when doing clipper over comb, you seem to start from the top, work down, then go from the bottom to the top. Would it not be quicker to go from the bottom to the top once?
When Dan goes from bottom to top at the end each time it's to cross check! Just to perfect
starting from the top helps him to layer the hair to the shape of the head. You can start from the bottom but it will most probably result in inconsistency.

Hey I need to ask you about if you know any good product or shampoos and conditions or both because my hair is so thick and course like when I get into the shower and wash my hair it’s nice and soft but when I get out and dry it it drys out and gets frizzy and coarse so can u help me ?

I like this hair style, it looks thin and a little long, but in my area there is only one hairdresser who is good at this style, I don't like it when I go to other shops and my hair is cut to look V or square. I hope more people are good at cutting hair in this style

We always recommend showing your barber a picture or video of the haircut you want. Trying to describe it can be difficult as people may percieve the description different to what you actually want. Also this allows your barber to visulise how that haircut will look with your current hair. Hopefully this helps you!
