  • NOT COMPATIBLE WITH ALPINE PREMIUM SYSTEMS
    New Alpine 6.5" speakers for soundbar. Checkout the Alpine SPV-65-JLT speaker upgrade for your Jeep Wrangler JL or Jeep JT Gladiator. Very good upgrade to the already good stock stereo system.

    I think in an effort to make the installation look easier, retailer's videos show cutting out the cavity with the sound bar in place. IMO it's well worth the extra time to remove it as you instruct. It makes for a much nicer cut and you don't have plastic falling all in your face. I stopped after the first cut with it in place and came to TH-cam thinking there had to be a better way. Thanks for your video and that suggestion!!

    • @BullGearOffRoad
      @BullGearOffRoad  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think it made it possible to turn it up more without hearing distortion from the speakers cause they handle more. So I guess I can turn it up louder but I also think they take more power overall.. if that makes sense. Overall it fills in the deeper sound better.

    • @tylerbaggett5058
      @tylerbaggett5058 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Here’s a good question, since you already had the factory alpine system are these speakers at least as loud as them. Because currently my 7.0” unit and overhead speakers are unbelievably underpowered with heavy distortion over 28ish on the volume. Really looking for something that will be louder and probably gonna go with the alpine PSS-23wra under the passenger seat and I’m hoping these alpines that you have will be a good complement to it

    • @tylerbaggett5058
      @tylerbaggett5058 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I’ve sat in a rubicon with the alpine system and the overhead speakers are like 5 times louder than mine. It’s sad honestly

    • @BullGearOffRoad
      @BullGearOffRoad  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@tylerbaggett5058 Yes, for sure. I Don't think I need to go above 25 on the volume to get the loudness I want (depending on the source) out of them and that's pretty loud. I'm usually in the 22-25 range. I think these will compliment it nicely if you go with that system. I never told my wife I added the speakers and I took her on a drive and turned it up and she noticed the difference right away before I told her I upgraded them. On my JK, I upgraded the factory deck to the Alpine X209-WRA and that made the system super clean and loud with the stock speakers but of course that was a pricey upgrade. I'm hoping we see an upgrade to the factory sub as I don't think it's as good as the factory sub in my JK.

  • @wolfy814
    @wolfy814 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Where’s the follow up to this?
    You had to have realized when you installed them that the sound was anemic and you had to turn the system way up to get it to sound fuller than a hollow tin can. Not sure why this video didn’t have a proper follow up as others are looking for answers in the comments based on the fact that your system is an upgraded Alpine 8.4.
    Video is misleading. You can’t install component speakers or really much of anything in the factory upgraded Alpine system.
    The sound bar does have two wires as does the dash.
    Each speaker wire is a home run with its own specific frequency and power versus the non-amplified system with nearly the same speaker configuration (minus the sub) run in full range from the radio daisy chained where the speakers in each area have the frequency adjustment component built into the speakers (for highs/lows).
    If you’re debating getting the Alpine system don’t get it. It will make life unbearable for upgrades (full replacement is needed).
    The reason he was able to get sound from the speakers is because Alpine uses the high pass crossover speaker lead (smaller of the two in the Sound Bar). With the amped system it gets only highs and no real lows or mid-bass. The speaker itself has a filter that will help simulate this, but if the speaker is never given those frequencies it won’t be able to output them.
    With the non-upgraded system, the sound coming from the head unit is full-range and the frequency blockers are installed on the physical speaker. This means you can remove the speakers and plug anything else in and get the full-range sound you actually need.
    Additionally, if you add a small in-line booster amp, the stereo will output more power to the aftermarket speakers giving you the result you were looking for. Without the in-line amp (also Alpine… but not OEM Alpine, it’s a retail power pack you buy), you won’t get the real clarity and volume you want.
    It’s so much easier and cheaper to upgrade the stock non-upgraded system to way better than Alpine.
    With 2022, you’ll have to stick with a Sport or Willy’s to be able to keep the downgraded system.
    Sahara and Rubicon Models have been standardized with this crap system.
    It’s just not enough… it’s almost there. It’s just not the Mach 1000 system that Ford used and not as good as the Monsoon system Pontiac used back in 2002.
    Stellantis needs to step up and real world test and critique what they are proposing for the masses as a standardization.
    As of right now I feel they are on the path of self destruction.
