@@aliciasanz285 thank you Alicia! Maybe I had to mention it but I covered that in my video “Hidden Gems in Valencia” and didn’t want to repeat myself.. but thank you for mentioning that! 🙌🏻
The Nuevo Centro mall was built in the early 1980s and has an overhaul in the mid 1990s, so no wonder lt may look like outdated, but It is still in good condition!! 🎉
@@caballoloco100 yeah I assumed that. At least malls are lively and full of shops and people unlike in the US! 😅 and in Poland for a difference they are modernizing outdated malls. Maybe one day they’ll do the same here 🤞🏻
the city of Valencia itself wasn't affected at all, it's completely safe here. Only south suburban areas like Paiporta, Alfafar, Catarroja and nearby villages Cullera, Algemesi etc were flooded
The towns and villages along the Turia River like Utiel, Chiva, Paiporta, Alfafar, etc in the outskirts of Valencia city, but Valencia city itself due to the Plan Sur, a hydrological infrastructure which channeled the Turia River southward. Hence, the old riverbed in Valencia city is undammaged and still in use as one of the longest green parks in Europe. The floodings tend to happen every 50 to 60 years. The previous one happened in 1957, but back then Valencia city was badly dammaged, unlike the last one on the 29th Octubre 2024.
