I live in Valencia to me the best neighborhood is Pla del Real. Especially , the zones of Exposició and Jaume Roig. You have really good facilities around hospitals , parks , gardens , private hospitals, schools, universities. The most special thing is the nature around it is really beautiful and peaceful.
@@happyhermit24 Both are great. Maybe if you want to take longer walks with your dog Exposició is better because is closer to the longest park in Europe Turia garden.
Another terrific video. We laughed at your comments about El Pilar 😂. We are seriously considering moving to Valencia and love your fresh perspective. We very much like El Carmen, in spite of the tourists. So much happening there and if you go down some of the narrow streets you are quickly away from everyone, yet still close to the mercat and life. Similar with Ruzafa. We wish you would explore Gran Via, another area high on our list. Less noisy and beautiful. And probably less “weirdos” than El Pilar. Hope you make one about Gran Via soon. Keep up the fantastic work!
El Carmen suffered a lot on the 1957 flood, that's why you see so many old destroyed buildings or empty areas. You need a lot of money to fix what the flood did and it takes a lot of time too. I live in Ruzafa, have been here all my life and I don't think it is a posh area. But of course, it has changed a lot during the years. When my parents grew up here, it was a very popular workers area. And of course, not all of it is the same. I live in the street that you mention of the "newest" constructions. Not my building, but you can't find big flats like ours in new places. And not as near the centre.

despite being the 3rd biggest city in Spain, Valencia is pretty small compared to other major cities. living in the city centre is not worth the inflated prices, especially when you factor in all the noise which these areas generate. you can find much better properties in some of the more unfashionable neighbourhoods outside the centre and also enjoy the relative peace and quiet which they offer. the excellent public transport system means that you are never too far away from the city centre.
The Carmen neighborhood, Plaza del Pilar, and adjacent areas, not many years ago, were the Chinese neighborhood (prostitutes), drug addicts, thieves, and people who live badly, dangerous, and I don't know the proportion, but I'm sure there are a lot of people in that neighborhood who live under the old rent law. There are other, more stately neighborhoods that would surprise you to see what they pay in rent for apartments of up to 200 square meters, it can even go from 50 euros a month.
What do you think of arracapins district ? Near abastos old market, I hear is a nice area of Valencia very close to ayuntamiento. Love your videos Maria! Thank you
I live not far from Arrancapins, very lively area, everything you need is in a walking distance, great infrastructure and close to the city center. The only thing not very close to any square or park. I like that we have small green areas close to the house to walk around at night, I find it relaxing before going to sleep 😄 But it's a safe area, rent is between 1200-1400 euros for 2/3 bed.
Thank you Maria! That is the area we will be living next year. The real estate agent said exactly what you say about arracapins. My wife and 12 year old son are coming too so glad to hear that it is safe and good area for them. See you in Valencia next June 2025! Your content is very interesting please keep it coming!

Ruzafa “luxurious” ?? Not a chance. I’ve lived here for 4 years in Ruzafa. It is the “hip” place, but so what. It’s also NOISY. Clearly you think that expensive is the same as luxurious. I live in a completely remodeled, VERY nice, 4 bedroom, 2 bath, washer&dryer, dishwasher, 5 aircon units. Pricey? Yes. Ruzafa has become expensive. Luxurious area? Ha! Not a chance.
Spent 3 years in Valencia...spend all that money so you can get to hear the neighbors talking, shouting, arguing through the walls, ceilings, doors, windows. Spanish construction practices are horrible.
Brick and concrete. In my very first apartment in the old center of Tarragona I've heard eeverything from my neighbours that was pretty funny (and annoying...) but the last two... nothing - it's quiet and nice. So it depends really 🤔
It is a vacant lot. Big deal. It is right across from a church and a huge Catholic school. The area is full of children every day before school starts and in the afternoon. Please don’t walk down a street one time and pretend to know anything about it.

El Pilar used to be a super dodgy district not that long ago. Full of brothels and drugs.

Very nice job ! Ur a most special ambassador with your job. Would do you like to take aerial videos for you? Thz
Your favorite neighbor is boring. Could be a neighbor in large city anywhere.

I have lived in Ruzafa all my life and luxurious is not a word I'd use for it!
I like Russafa! And by the way, most of the graffiti I've seen were beautiful!
Hi Mari! Do you edit videos yourself or outsource it? I’m an editor and would love to discuss, if you’re interested

Are the walls made from brick, or some other material?

Спасибо за подробное описание, появилась мысль, где лучше бросить якорь.

She had every right to ask the question. The area looks derelict to me as well.
Good video. Greetings.
