This is the quintessential Bee Gees song because it showcases everything that made them great. Great story about this song. Maurice met Quincy Jones and Quincy said that Fanny was one of his favorite R&B songs of all time. He told Maurice that he tried for years to find someone that could cover the song and that the search was futile because he couldn't find anyone to come close to this performance. That says so much.
From long ago, summer of '75 , I was 28 y/o, heading to 29, & the last [ GASP !! ] year of my 20's. By this time, Barry had discovered his falsetto voice, & put it to use here. MY All-time #1, by the Brothers Gibb; ; this is a masterwork. -------------------MJL< 75 y/o
I personally would put it up with how deep is your love. this one is easily one of my absolute favorite bee gees songs. It's been a fun ride hearing more of their music. My knowledge was super limited until I started doing reaction videos but my eyes have definitely been opened.
I personally think this is the absolute best piece of music they ever produced. Too Much Heaven runs a very close second, only because of the energy this song generates in the listener.
Fanny be tender with my love is a great great song, not only the falsetto by barry but the build up to the chorus part and a f flat. By Robin which is sick Maurice putting in the baritone part this music is up & down with that magnificent falsetto part by Robin & barry, Bee Gees #1 in my book forever, magnificent just simply a beautiful song. 🎶🎶🎶🎤🎤🎤🎤🎤🎤🎤🎤🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶
The Bee Gees were incredible lyricist. Underrated and under appreciated. Their songs from the ‘60’s (and before Barry discovered his falsetto) are just as lyrically rich. It’s sad they’re stuck under the Disco label. I love Disco, but they were more than that.
Fanny Be Tender With My Love has always been one of my very favorite Bee Gees songs and one of my all time favorite songs PERIOD!!! I always recommend this song to people right from the start. I have always wondered why more people don't recommend it early on for Bee Gees songs. Love So Right is another great song that is not recommended enough.
It is so nice to hear Maurice sing a part, not just harmonizing with his brothers. Distinctly hearing each of the three, but the harmony is still perfect.
Sorry but its not Maurice that you are hearing, its actually Barry. This song was mainly sung by Barry going from falsetto to his deep voice as well as Robin in the chorus. It was never performed live due to it being so complex. They are all just miming to the studio track, the deep voice is Barry's.
I ABSOLUTELY AGREE. 100% I've gone to so many reaction sites begging someone to please do Fanny. It's wayyy over looked, is my most favorite from the Bee Gees catalogue and as far as Im concerned is perfection with the varying sounds of lower and higher tones, the blending of Robin and Barry's falsettos that sound like one voice and the build ups and changing higher keys. It's hard to choose just one favorite song but this is mine. Someone put it in a loop on TH-cam and I definitely listen to that over and over. I don't understand why more people don't react or choose this song. Everyine choises the obvious ones of Fever, How deep is your loove, Jive Talking etc, all wonderful, but obvious choices. There are soooooo many others worth exploring that deserve their attention. Their catalog is so huge.
This was one of the songs I told you to react to! Lol One of my favourite Bee Gees songs ever! The harmonies between Robin and Barry are mad crazy and the key change at the end is pure magic. Quincy Jones is a legend!
One of my favorite Bee Gees songs EVER! The whole Main Course album sealed my love of their music. I always wondered why they never sang this live so I googled it and Maurice said it was a bitch due to the layering of harmonies (26 I think) and Barry and Robin shared leads.
this song was from my brother and me always the best music when we both goes home with the car from the hard job. IT WAS great to listen to this song, in the car in the darkness, the carheater was on and this song with full power, was great feeling
Finally a reaction video where I can hear the whole song. Thank you. The Bee Gees are famous for the falsetto voices. They were huge during the Disco Era. Tragedy is another powerful song. And Quicy Jones is a legend himself.
Oh, this song! Forty six years ago when I was 14, in grade 9, was on the jukebox at a school restaurant hangout and was getting played all the time. I loved this song so much and it brings back young, sweet memories. The Bee Gees were great!
I feel so old when I hear someone say that they don't know who Quincy Jones is. How can that possibly be? It just amazes me. When I watch the reactions to We Are The World- USA for Africa by the younger generation and they barely know any of the very famous artists, it blows my mind. I think to myself what the heck are the kids listening to these days? I'm so grateful for having grown up during the '60s on up. I loved the disco era! My father has his PhD in music, and he was a music teacher my entire life....my first introduction to music was classical, then folk,, soul & R&B, rock, glam rock, disco, pop & country.. I was actually at Woodstock (yes, the original) as a little girl with my mother. I just feel so lucky to have these experiences with all the good music over the past decades that I did.
@@jaybrielakoi7747 It's a perfect song. Everything about it. Have you heard the song: "Into The Night" by Benny Mardones? If not, you need to give that a listen. Incredible vocals in that one. Yes! Fanny was actually the name of the housekeeper they employed when they went to Florida to write songs. Originally it was just "SO be tender/with my love". Maurice felt it needed to have the woman's name and the housekeeper happened to be there that day.
Loved the reaction and the respect for pld music. This is timeless any way and we grew up on the Bee Gees they were always in the radio parties etc. It is true its one of the best R&B songs ever. Thanks for reminding us our teenage years.
My favorite Bee Gees song out of, God how many songs have they written? Anyway this shows the true singing talent of all the brothers in one truly terrific song. Love the Brothers💔🔥💔🔥❤️🔥
So I listened to fanny one more time just because of your comment and Ohh man, I don't know if this would be my favorite.....but it's SOOOO GOOD. It would def be one of my TOP TOP Bee Gees songs.
Wow, I never knew Quincy Jones said that about this song. This was when the Gibb brothers went all in with R&B and changed their fortunes. It features Barry's powerful chest voice as well as his soft whisper and full falsetto. The blend of Barry and Robin is so perfect that you're not sure who you are hearing more of. There actually is an promo film for this song out there.
It's awesome because in the beginning, the song is nice and chill... it doesn't feel like it would built that much. That's a successful built up. In my opinion Spirits Having Flown has the same energy. Same impression about the wordplay.
Robin's falcetto comes through. They all came through on this one.Fanny is an all time favorite of most BeeGees fans . "Inside and out", "love so right", "Spirits Having Flown"......
That's a true story. I read all their books. They were so creative. The best song writers and best singers of all time. The levels of arrangement. Just perfect.

Not all of it is bad, it’s just not my taste of music. But some how I was able to listen to the Bee Gees. Very musical family and I loved their sound before during and after disco. My favorite BeeGees Song. I would hear this on the am radio in the 1970’s, and I thought they were women lol
