i agree . i had a hugh crush on Barry and their youngest brother Andy Gibb , he was so good but died at 30 years old . my favorite song of his was Shadow Dancing .
Quincy Jones said this could very well be the greatest rhythm n' blues song of all time. That is supreme praise from someone who is a true icon in the music industry.
Fanny was a housekeeper,at the home they lived in,when they first moved to Miami. They didn’t have a definite name, for their latest song, and decided to name it after her. When they told her,it made her cry with happiness.
mhm The BeeGee's is like a fun roller coaster you just want to keep riding. It is in my belief that the Brothers Gibb are NOT of this planet and that Andy n the Twins didn't die...v.v they just went home. They are still missed by all...v.v . Sending some love to the Brothers Gibb. We love you Barry please don't leave us any time soon.
Barry and Robin sang together during the chorus and it sounds like one person. Also when Barry does the falsetto Maurice takes over on lower vocals. In concert Maurice takes over falsetto while Barry sings the main vocals. Robin will share harmonies. I loved them all but Robin's voice touched my soul. I am a bit older and saw them do the "Mr. Natural" tour. It is one of my favorite memories, they have 40 years of music. They wrote their own songs and did some big hits for other artist also. So sad that Barry is the only one left now😔❤

All three brothers are beautiful. Barry is the tallest, but Maurice & Robin are gorgeous in their own rights, as well God broke the mold when He made the beautiful brothers the Bee Gees
I recently saw Barry say, in an interview, that this particular record is comprised of multiple tracks of them singing -- like, dozens of tracks (I want to say 26) -- overlaid and mixed together. For this reason, he said it was extraordinarily difficult to perform it live, so they rarely performed it in concert. In fact, if you watch the video of them singing it, you will probably be as baffled as I am trying to figure out which brother is singing which part, LOL.
Val, that's why "Reaction Videos" by you & others are so popular now. Many of us who grew up listening to these singers/groups know their music by heart. It makes me happy that some of your generations are discovering this music from the '70s & '80s. for the first time. Keep up the good work, you're doing a great job. And you're very sincere..
All three brothers got to showcase their individual singing talents here. All could go very deep and then the falsettos. It was their mothers favorite performance of theirs.
Fanny was the housekeeper when they were all staying at 461 Ocean Boulevard in Miami while recording theIt first US album, Main Course. She came into the room when they were writing the song, and they decided to incorporate her name. I saw on a Bee Gees fan site that she died in 2019, but they didn’t give her last name. What must it have been like to hear them singing it? Please react to another huge hit from the same album: JIVE TALKIN
Wow she was one lucky housekeeper! In the right place at the right time for sure. How cool would it be to say “you know that song Fanny by The Bee Gees? It’s about me!” 🙌🏽
Wow thank you so much for the info. I am a huge fan. I was in Miami this past weekend. I took pictures of that home and their recent homes. RIP to the other brothers
Yes, I remember those days, the early morning and late afternoon DJs were BIG People listened to music on their drive to and from WORK! But there were a few music shows before MTV and Friday Night Videos (both started early 80s) Don Kirshner's "Rock Concert" (1973-1980) The Midnight Special (1972-1981) Soul Train (1971-2006) And variety shows had guest musicians. Until several days ago I had not heard it...unbelievable, right. I can't play this song enough now. One of not only the bee gees best songs but of any song I've ever seen. Masterpiece is an understatement. Vocals are off the charts
Hi, Valencia-- I revisited this reaction today because I remember how very good it is!! I love when new listens to my fave Bee Gee song is so well done!! Have a good day!
Now, find the VIDEO for "Jive Talkin"- It still sounds as funky, soulful as it did in the mid-1970's! And of course, there's Barry Gibb, looking ultra-cool with his great mane of hair, bell bottom jeans, playing guitar - "Jive Talkin" has a beat you can't forget! In your own time, find the VIDEO for "Fanny Be Tender" - More Barry - That always makes listening to be Bee Gees a great experience!
Hi V., I've been waiting for someone to finally react to this great song... it's one of my all time favorites of theirs which seems to get forgotten about and is so underrated. Great job; thank you so much! - Brooklyn Mike
You have a very sweet and show deep sincerity when you give your reactions and please keep them coming! I think that true great music does not have age because the effect it has on people like yourself (really young). I really hope you have another reaction from them like How deep is your love, Love you inside out, Massachusetts, Stayin Alive etc etc etc.....
Run to me, How can you mend a broken heart, Alone (terrific later song with heaps of clips from their younger days on music video), Staying Alive...you're never gonna run out. You're doing great reviews too!
You're on the right way, payin' attention to all of them. Check out "For Whom The Bell Tolls" with changing leads. Live with New York in the background. Also worth is "Man In The Middle" with Maurice on lead.
Just a thought...the album Fanny is from, Main Course (1975), is excellent overall and worth hearing the entire LP, but if you haven’t already reacted to Nights on Broadway, it’s amazing (close 2nd to Fanny in my book). And for one of their more quirky songs (there are many on the early albums) you could try All This Making Love. Love your reactions.
I respect that you chose just the audio version of this song (despite Barry being _gorgeous_ in the music video - seriously, you should check it out), but Barry sings 80% of this song anyway. Robin joins him in the chorus, and Maurice harmonizes. They never really performed this live because it's a technical nightmare on a live stage. The Main Course album that this is from is fantastic - very funky sound. :) If you'd like to hear Robin's voice more clearly, listen to songs like 'Massachusetts', 'I Started A Joke', 'Holiday', 'For Whom The Bell Tolls' (he sings the chorus, Barry sings the verses), or 'Country Lanes'. For Maurice's voice, try 'Man In The Middle', 'Closer Then Close', or 'Wildflower'. Robin and Maurice both sung quite a few more, those were just some examples. :)
Great song and reaction Valencia! Please react to my favorite Bee Gees song More Than A Woman as well as Dionne Warwick's cover of the Bee Gee's classic Heartbreaker (the Bee Gees sing background)! Also check out the Bee Gee's - To Love Somebody, Night Fever, Stayin' Alive and You Should Be Dancing.
Yes, yes, YES!!! I've been waiting for a reactor to state this fact! When you are only listening to a song... you can concentrate on the music... ALL of the music, all of the parts that comprise it. There's nothing else to distract you from the music. So many times I'll click on a reaction video and the person is either reacting to a substandard music video, or sometimes even worse, a poorly recorded live version. I guess I'm a purist... I like seeing people react to the music the way I first "heard" the song on the radio... not watched it on tv. So many music videos are full of strange imagery, quick cuts, lip synching... and they can totally distract from the song itself. Plus many are of inferior sound quality... a perfect example is the music video of 'Fanny Be Tender' itself... the sound in the video is awful! WELL DONE!!! This is one of the most insightful reactions I've seen.
i agree . i had a hugh crush on Barry and their youngest brother Andy Gibb , he was so good but died at 30 years old . my favorite song of his was Shadow Dancing .
You should play the video where you can see each singer. Their voices are amazing!

I love when Robin sings his par, cause his voice is so different.
Maurice does a lot of the falsetto on this song and he does it fabulously!
First I rise, then I fall
Seems like you don't want the love
Of this man at all
And it's sure been a lonely time
Right up to the time I met you
So if you take a love like mine
Be tender with my love
You know how easy it is to hurt me
Fanny, be tender with my love

Our love will seal it together
Oh, with our love
You made a promise
You'll always love me forever
Be tender with my love
You know how easy it is to break it
Fanny, be tender with my love
'Cause it's all that I've got
And my love won't forsake me
Be tender (be tender) with my love (with my love)
You know how easy it is to break it
Fanny, be tender (tender) with my love (with my love)
'Cause it's all that I've got
And my love won't forsake me
Be tender (be tender) with my love (with my love)
You know how easy you can hurt me
Fanny, be tender (tender) with my love (with my love)
'Cause it's all that I've got
And my love won't desert me
Be tender (be tender) with my love (with my love)
You know how easy it is to break it
