I built a fuselage onto a 20 foot long table. I made the frame from 2x4 's and the top from particle board. I was told not to trace the plans onto the table because the plans can shrink, so I just drew them onto the particle board. They said to be sure to put wax paper over the table before gluing the parts together. Particle board is hell for strong, but too heavy for airplanes.
Hey all, I know this is an old video, but if you're using as a reference, the ratio between hardener and resin is only 1:1 if measured by volume. If you're going by weight as in this video, you have to use a resin/hardener ratio of 100/83 per the T-88 spec. Hope that helps!
@@LosDaniellosB For anyone else seeing this (2020 or later), Bernard H. Pietenpol's grandson still sells the plans directly along with various supplements: www.pietenpolaircraftcompany.com/shop
Nice. I'm probably going to regret this since I don't have any woodworking experience, but I've decided to build a Pietenpol. Thanks for your videos.
How’s it going? I’m in the same boat as you, buying the kit soon
Great to see the little details of building. Nice presentation style, easy to listen to. Thanks.

I'm so HAPPY you didn't put music on this video! :D
Well done. Will stay tuned...

@@jpelmo80 i figured this out myself during two years which passed since I posted my comment. Thanks for quick reply!
@@jpelmo80 I answered myself two years ago. Good job mate...
@@LosDaniellosB Yes, you did - but you provided a link to a 3rd party and I linked directly to the Pietenpol Aircraft Company. No good deeds...
Nice, but how heavy/strong is this compared to a plywood rib? Wouldn't the latter be much quicker to make also?
Nice work btw!
