Hey there Colleen, I like the work you do. I took the furniture out of living room , burnt it , bringing in all the military World War II equipment so I can conduct The Philadelphia Experiment also the aliens have been trying to contact me so I need to build the radio to call them back. Totally freaked out Sunday when I found a flux capacitor at a antique flea market ,Doc Brown said we can go back and tell Marty he missed a note when he was playing Johnny B Goode , and be careful with that Chuck Berry guy that will steal the sound. Colleen let me know if you can help me put this spaceship together.... (love your nerdy girl show it's totally cool) I'll start saving the money . PS Tesla said to ask you which do you prefer AC or DC ?🤭
This is so cool. I still have the circuit you drew for getting rid of an old death cap on an early Fender in one of your videos from 4 or so years ago - I re-drew it for my 5C1 with rotary switch - and upgraded to 3-wire. I've since modernized all the electrolytic caps and upgraded a 1w resistor to a 5w, also moving it a little bit away from the tube socket to keep it cooler, following your advice. Let your videos be everyone's inspiration. Thank you.
I had to stop it again after you open the garage door and walked in there. I almost lost my breath. Oh good God, the old radios in the kiss poster and what a freaking cool garage oh my love to hang out there I wouldn’t watch your work cause nobody wants anybody watch them work but just hang out you know , listen to or whatever. Wow, what an incredible place your house looks very comfy. Have a great time. Keep up with the most high-quality professional video you made it. Excellent thanks again. I’m really nice to kinda hear your story and peer into your house a little bit it’s a beautiful place man really Take care ❤😊 play Mr. Mike I’m sorry Mr. Mike I said Mr. Mackey like South Park where you go you bastard AI bastards AI I said AI I’m scared of AI
I like your thinking. I am 60 years old, and you sound like someone from my generation, but you clearly are not. This is a testament to the wisdom of your character. Be proud of your well thought out exceptionalism. I am proud for you.
Absolutely love this! I think a lot of us long for a time when things were made with purpose and care, with pride and built to last. This video made my day :)
Thank you so much for a glimpse into your world of amps and music, Very informative and well produced video. I have to admit that I get a little weak in the knees when you put an old tweed Gibson amp with the vertical stripes up on the bench! Keep up the good work!
Brilliant stuff. Great tune. I’ve got a Fender Blues deluxe with that yellow tweed it’s so dirty it looks like a ploughed corn paddock. Love this vid great stuff
I was explaining to my stepson about how tube amplifiers work, I showed him this fabulous video that totally explains how they work! Excellent, thanks so much Colleen.😊
Born and raised in Chitown and also a guitar player/teacher (civil engineer by trade) blah blah. Love the channel. We definitely share the same style. My ears perked up when I heard the recreation of Hendrix’s Like a Rolling Stone. I still have the Hendrix and Otis Redding split album I used to play on the record player in my parent’s basement and I have a fond memory of hearing it. I have restored cars, built engines, transmissions, restored houses and any and everything else in between you can think of EXCEPT electronics. It’s the one thing I never figured out and I am still fascinated by it. Beyond home and automobile wiring, electronics is still such a mystery to me. I am glad you are keeping the craft alive! I love vintage. 🤟🏻 🎸 Looking forward to your future videos.
This video was so well done Colleen. It felt like it was filmed in the 1970's. I had to go back and re-watch the video to catch the anachronisms (time errors). There was just a few: the TV (90's), the kitchen appliances (late 90's or early 2000's), the Fluke Multimeter and last but not least the imprint of your cell phone in your front pocket when you and your dog are taking a walk...😊 With a last name like Fazio you're pretty much destined to have your own line of amps. Keep rocking...absolutely love your channel.
High quality production on this one. Nice. Tube amps do rule all still. Always will to me. I currently own six of them and wouldn't play anything solid state. I don't use distortion or overdrive pedals either. That's what the tube amps are for man. Congrats on your success by the way.
I have a closet full of 70's receivers and amps that I've restored. I just love returning these old things back to or in many cases better than new. There's just something about it. Love your videos, people like you are becoming a rare thing.
Hi Colleen. Nice vid and dig what you do. I love valve amps too and have even designed and built one from scratch. I am from New Zealand and there’s just not enough of that vintage gear around down here to scratch out a living and live the dream unfortunately. I spent 4 years in London and worked for studio rental company. I used to keep a fleet of JCMs, SVTs and AC30s running. But also got to work on Fairchild 670 compressors and U47 mics. Those were great days. Everytime I tune into one of your clips I wonder if I should get back into it one day.
Colleen, I find your videos so relaxing and interesting - you have a true passion for your field and its great to see you breathing life back into these amps and devices. I'm a software engineer by day and for those working hours I'm immersed in the digital world. Whilst I consider building software almost a creative artform - the raw materials we work with are far from tangible - 1s and 0s flowing through registers, digital circuits and network cables. When my work day is done I love nothing more than to spin up a record. Its an occasion, I watch the ECC83 tubes in my phono preamp rise to a warm glow, drop the needle on that slab of wax and listen to that very real analog sound as my speakers move the air in the room - no bluetooth or streaming devices in sight. I'm also very lucky to be in a band with some like minded people - its a conduit for us to re-connect back with the physical world in our quite disconnected modern lives. Playinig really loud through EL34 valve amps and vibing with your band mates is a feeling like no other. Keep on keeping on.
wow I didn't know it was possible to have goosebumps for 7 minutes and 48 seconds!!! This is just so pretty in every single aspect!!!! And the fact that they use actual analog film is just the cherry on top!!!!!!
There’s something special about going out to my shop and seeing 20-30 tube amps sitting around waiting to be revived and brought back to their glory days!
Colleen-You and I have a lot in common. I grew up in Chicago (Rogers Park area) and I love your WXRT shirt. 👕 I moved to California and guitar gear and vintage records turn me on! The smell of old albums brings me back to my childhood.
Damn, great vibe and style in this video and shows your love and passion for amps and music, sure everyone in this business and community will love this 🥰
As Motley Crue famously said. "If you want to live life on your own terms, you gotta be willing to crash and burn". I'm glad you had a mentor that had a huge impact on your direction. Not many get to live the dream.
Te felicito...yo reparo amp de válvulas .no hablo inglés soy de vza. Y ysoy pianista ..estoy restaurando un fender Rhodes. ..Bella. .muchas bendiciones .tendré q aprender ingles ...muchos kiss para ti .❤
I thought electronics was my jam, until I found watchmaking. I get lost in the history, the evolution of technologies, and my little successes that keep me hooked. Some of the greatest human minds have propelled us forward as a species with their toil, not unlike the musicians and engineers that cobble together our sounds and vibrations. Thank you for such a stylish take!
This is just a teaser trailer for an upcoming 2 hour documentary right? If it isn't then everyone involved with it needs to get back together and make one! This is easily the most interesting video I've watched in quite a while and I'd like to see more. Great job!
Very cool Colleen ,I always heard that if you love your job then you will be truly successful ,and what better job is there than to work on vintage amps
Like your 'XRT tee shirt! Did you ever listen to Triad? Triad was WXRT before it got soft. Used to have recorded European and US concerts from Hendrix, Allman Brothers, Grateful Dead, Rory Gallagher and on and on. It was considered as an 'underground' unformatted radio station. "those were they days, yes they were......" Oh, also played Cream!
Cool, that was a rather moving warming video. I feel the same way. I love my tube amps, the old ones, the self built ones, my favorite is my 6100LM Marshall. And even the memories of all the awesome ones that I've owned over the years. Thank you Colleen!
Love this - love the cinematics and filming, and the music and the visuals were captivating. If this were a feature film I'd go see it in the cinema! Congratulations on a successful business and career 👏🏼
Brilliant. Inspirational, beautifully shot and edited. Perfect audio mix, bravo to the videographer/filmmaker. You have a wonderful story and left me wondering, what will you create.
Been to Deltronics there! Great group of guys. They fixed my buddies late dad's British era Vintage Laney. I'd love to fly out to Cali, pull up a lawn chair in the driveway, crack open a cold one and hear the stories of amps you've dabbled on since you left Chicago! Heck I might even drag my Ampeg out there and we can do a jam sesh! Can't wait to hear when that Fazio Electric amp is made!
That was amazingly well done. Didn’t know what to expect other than amps something something. When you can take something like this and keep me glued to the audio and video without searching for what’s next. I had to say well done! Lots of heart went into this one. Never give it up and never lose that passion. It is F’ing life!
Ohhh golly!!! I loved this. 50 years ago my young bride, Diane and I lived the vibe in your excellent video. We were up in Bellflower CA north of Long Beach and would take our Honda Sport Cycle down to Newport Beach and go clubbing for Bluegrass Music and great seafood. Or a little further to Laguna and play art patrons in the old restored sports car we cherished. I played in a festival band, bass and lead guitar. I built aircraft for different firms and Diane was a manager of a florist shop. We had a beautiful Kerry Blue Terrier for walks at Venice Beach. It was a wondrous life. Hank looks at you in your advert just like "Harley" would look at Diane before a walk. From what I see, you are living a very best life. It would be dumb to ship my very old original Fender Hot Rod DeVille 212 out there just for a tune up. BTW... we are still living best lives here in the cold north... still playing in a band, but now Di is a retired Pastor. Go get 'em Colleen! Wellll done!
What an eloquent tribute to you and the craft of valve amplifier repair. I have a list not too far from here, titled "Amplifier, the Instrument" because I think it should be considered one. This will be a great addition.
Lucky for everybody there that one of the old school amp techs trained you. Here in Auckland, NZ the tech everybody trusted is pushing 80 now and only takes on a few jobs on select amps. He began to train somebody, but that person went off the rails big time. There's another tech that might be good, but he's getting on too. A city of 1.7 million people might end up with no amp tech. There's a few capable modders and builders, so maybe one of them will have to step up and take on amp work. That or we will all have to go the modelling route. :P (or we will have to convince Jason at Headfirst to move back to his homeland -- his country needs him lol)
The production quality of this video is astounding.
It was a professional crew, they killed it!!
Fazio Electric shirts…I’m ready to pony up cash

I was not the filmmaker for this video!! There was a whole team behind it 💪🏻
@@FazioElectric well, they did a good job then.
This is brilliant in every way🤩🔥The only downside is that it should be at least an hour long
I thoroughly enjoyed watching this! Kudos to everyone involved for giving us such a wonderful creation.

Why were you named Colleen (As Gaelige for Girl)....is their an Irish connection in your family ?
Excellent production!!! Btw, have you ever worked on a GemTone amp made by Bob Mcgilpin ?
You're the best Colleen, a true Master, and I'm thrilled with the work you've done on my amps.
Thank You Linda!! I love working with you and your amps, you have some great gear 😍
