Katuwana fort - History Of Sri Lanka | සුද්දන් අන්ත පරාජයට පත් වූ කටුවන සටම
In 1761, the 'Matara Rebellion' led to the capture and partial destruction of the fort by Kirti Sri Rajasinha's Kandyan forces. After the British annexed the Kandy Kingdom in 1815, the fort lost its strategic significance and was eventually abandoned.
