I'm not having that issue on my 68 at the moment but this is great information and your videos are always very detailed and well thought out. Thanks for your contributions to my Corvette education sir!

what Bolt size did you use? gonna be doing these on mine but i was thinkin on using just a block of wood

Just a bolt that fit perfectly inside the bushing (not too tight or loose), along with a flat washer to help drive the bushing in place. I think that wood is too soft to properly drive the bushings. Also, a long bolt will ensure the bushing is properly in line with the body. 😊👍🏻

I like to use Mystik No. 2 JT6 grease on the shaft

My C3 engine is leaking oil from a few different places. My mechanic replaced some seals but that has not been able to stop the leaks. He recommends putting a new engine in because apparently if we try to rebuild the engine, it wont fit back together properly. I also have a transmission oil leak and a differential oil leak. Should i just go to a bigger, better engine and replace those 3 components of the drive train, rather than try to rebuild them? My car is not factory original. thank you

Contrary to popular belief, these cars are not supposed to leak any fluids. Most of them do because of poor assembly practices, using the wrong gaskets and/or sealants, faulty or damaged parts, etc.
Having said that, since your car is not factory original as you mention, then you can really take advantage of that and build the car you want and, ideally, keep it for a long time.
As far as the tranny and differential, a proper cleaning, good gaskets, and fresh fluids should take care of them.
For the engine, you can go from mild to wild or anywhere in between and have a fun and even better car to enjoy. And your wallet will dictate how much you can spend. You may also be able to sell the old, non-original engine and recoup a few bucks.
Good luck with your project! 🙂👍
P.S. Not sure I understand what your mechanic means by a rebuilt engine "not fitting back together properly." If that's the case, you may need to find a new mechanic. Just my 2 cents.

@@76vette thank you for the response :)
If I do go down the path of a new engine, do you recommend a LS engine? Or would I purchase a crate engine available at Ecklers? Or would I get one built from an engine builder locally? What is the best way to go about it? Also, would i then need to change my transmission and diff to something that will handle the extra power? I want to go for an engine that makes about 500-700 HP. My car is a 73 small block.

I would talk to a reputable engine builder to hear what they would recommend and why. And also to Corvette owners who have actually installed an LS, for example and draw my own conclusion from there.
The Corvette Forum is an excellent source of information so I would start there. 😊👍🏻
