Fun fact: Using "Didn't ask" actually backfires on you.
You usually say "Didn't ask" to show distaste to someone by explaining that you didn't ask for their reply/opinion, but it backfires on you because probably nobody asked you to reply "Didn't ask" either. In fact, everybody probably did things that nobody asked them to do, including the ones who say "Didn't ask" to other people.

Whenever someone can’t think of a comeback or snarky reply they’ll just say something like “you’re projecting” when they clearly don’t know what projection is…they’re really just saying “takes one to know one” or “I’m rubber you’re glue whatever you say bounces off me and sticks to you” in a way that they think makes themselves sound intelligent.

As a girl, the ONLY thing that doesn’t make me cringe to death when I hear the word “slay” is the fact that it means to kill something. At school, half of the girls use that word and I don’t talk in public, so everytime some girl in my class says “slay” I want to jump out a window. The worst part about it though is that my sister uses both the words “slay” and “periodt”. All I wanna do from that point is not jump out of the window, but jump off of a 10k foot tall building.

6:10 thank you so much for mentioning this. It is the single most annoying thing when someone uses the word "literrally" when the thing they said could not be interpreted as figuritively. for example, if animals were falling out of the sky and someone were to say:"it's litereally raining cats and dogs." then that would make sense because "raining cats and dogs" is a figurative expression to say it is raining hard. but when people say someting like:"I was literally playing a game" It wouldn't be nessecary, although technically acrurate. bottom line: YOU DON'T NEED TO SAY LITERALLY, UNLESS YOU ARE SPECIFYING SOMETHING.

As part of Gen Z, an annoyingly used word is “literally”. It’s meant to be used to described how actions or descriptions are surprising or unbelievable. It’s meant to show how it’s not even a joke. But literally is supposed to be used to show how your description is not figurative or a metaphor. Unfortunately, it’s now used in words that don’t even have a figurative alternative definition.

Something's been on my mind ever since watching this video for the first time. How or why is it that native English speakers tend to speak worse than non-native speakers when on the internet? I'm not talking about speaking the language literally, it's more about comments, tweets, or just about anything that is typed instead of spoken.
We have the classic misuse of the words "your" and "you're", "there", "their" and "they're", and the ones I noticed recently, "affect" and "effect".
There's no harm in that whatsoever, and I'm sure they know the difference between those words, or at least I hope they do. I just find it ironic that whenever I'm in America and can't express myself properly, I'm an ignorant foreigner, but whenever they do that in my country it's because they are "tourists".
