You will notice of course the horse will always get hydrated before the trooper. That is the proper way and the way the British army looks after their horses

They are not supposed to touch the horse!! It says it right on the signs everywhere!! Poor horse is probably a nervous wreck with them so close and constantly touching it.

Two of my favorite guards here,both are firm and respectful however duty comes first.
